The Playstation...1

funny how you havent said anything about SOTN

PS1… When Japan still made good games.

My personal favourite game on PS1.

Super Nintendo still reigns supreme

Man, every time I think of a PS1 I think of the time I was walking around Target and they had brand new PS1’s (slim) in box for $15.
This was in 2002 ish, I was a kid back then and I didn’t have any money or a PS2 at the time.
The point though, $15 bucks for a brand new console, w/ some good games available?
Can’t beat that y’know.

It was my first console that I owned back in the day.
Crash was a staple in the games I played. Crash 1-2-3, Bash, CTR
Played all that shit.

Spyro was good as well.

I mostly got fighting games 'cause I loved that shit.
I rented Tekken 3, KOF99
I owned MKT, MvC1, XvSF, MSHvSF, Alpha 3

Well considering both the ps2 and ps3 can play ps1 games, and the ps store has several downloadable games, and the games aren’t even prohibitively expensive off ebay, I don’t really see what the tears are all about. I bought bushido blade 1 and 2 for 20 bucks each a few weeks ago. Its hardly a relic of some lost, forgotten age.

im a bit ashamed im laughing at how much sense this made to me.

I enjoyed PSOne as much as the next gamer in that ere, but have much fonder memories of the Sega Saturn.

Hey, graphics for their time were impressive.

How come no-one’s talking about DAT INTRO!!!

That is the single most orgasmic sound ever.

Holy shit! my childhood is this sound.

I played that video and immediately thought of booting up the original Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon games as a kid. Good times.

Saturn all day 'err day for me.

But the PS1 list goes:

SOTN
MGS
Silent Bomber
Silent Hill
Resident Evil 2
Klonoa
Ape Escape

oh god yes…

Figured it would be too obvious lol

Not much to say about the game that hasn’t been said before, it was one hell of an experience for me when I first played it back in the 90s.

I was gonna say the same thing ><

That was the beginning of the ‘buying import games on my modded console’ era for me, which was a rad time.

I still remember the joy and heartbreak though, when Criticom came out.

“Finally a fighting game for the Playstation!”

“No wait, this is ass. WTF?”

Sega Model 1, 2, 3 spoiled me for that whole generation.

I cream myself whenever I hear this

Still have xenogears and a whole bunch of rpg’s

I’m preferable to this one myself:

Ahhhh good stuff. The first capcom logo to usher in the 32-bit era! Saw it all the time in Sega Saturn titles.

Sega…what?

The model # stuff makes me think of the Sega Genesis, and its variations.

In terms of loading screens are concerned, this beats the ever-living shit out of the infinite loading circle x infinity.

I mean, SERIOUSLY

Man if only the Saturn could do 3d like Model 2 or even close to Model 3, shit would’ve been a done wrap. VF2 on the Saturn looked awesome (60fps!) but still nowhere near as awesome as the arcade version.
