The PC gaming Thread. Steam/GOG/Origin/Etc. Game/Software/Hardware talk

Amazon’s All Digital Games Mayhem Deals…going on right now.

Can’t really decide.

Yea I was watching your stream in the begining when you rushed the bunker, but I had to stop because it was far to juttery. Was like watching a slide show at times.

Time to look at cheap games I can’t afford.

Fuck you GP.

To cosign on this,

Why was the aspect ratio stuck at 4:3?

Future proof ALWAYS, what you do it with is subjective.
Sonciabid basically nailed it for you.

Just what Sonic said pretty much. Still rocking a core I7-950 from 4 years ago and just upgraded around that sadly the socket i’m on is dead in the water. Play’s all my games with barely a hiccup and the 14 gigs of ram and EVGA 660 help as well

The Witcher 2 is on sale on steam, 80% off. I know everyone has it cause no DRM and all, but can’t help but spend $4 on this title. Never played it, bout to find out what the big deal is about.

Yeah CP, OBS raped my performance playing Wolf. It does the same with Battlefield 3, so I can’t really stream those games without losing quite a bit of enjoyment. :shake:

It’s another one of those games that’s fucking weird with the resolutions you can and can’t pick. :shake:

Be sure to get the mod that changes the combat for the better. This mod is so good, that the development team of Witcher 3 picked this guy up to help develop The Witcher 3.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about this mod.

That good? Well shit, how can I refuse.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Hate to double post, but this is some heavy news.

Now I know most of you PC Gamers are aware of the guy Total Biscuit and his WTF Is… series. He’s rather informative with all his gives, given in a first look as to how he feels for X game.

As of late, TB has gotten rather ill and found out he had some type of ass cancer. Hate sound ignorant as I’m unaware of the exact cancer it was, but let’s just say he’s had a little problem and him making frequent visits to the toilet. Very frequent.

However, he’s recently had this to tweet:
" took too long. It’s full blown cancer. Starting chemo soon, then surgery. Doctors optimistic. Don’t make my mistake. Get checked. "

An unfortunate fate to hear, but whether or not you like the guy, it sucks to hear this man’s fate and how much he’s been involved with the PC Gaming Community. Hopefully things may look brighter in the future.

I just realized Killer is Dead is on PC. I don’t like character action games very much but is Killer any different?

Depends.

If you’re a fan of the action hacknslash, you’ll pick t up anyways.

If you’re demanding for a deep and intricate combat, you might have mixed feelings.

I got it like two days before my 360 broke last summer. Enjoyed the game a lot, I might buy it on Steam unless it is poorly optimized.

Just wait for the summer sale. It might be $10 by then.

“It’s also—and here’s the important bit, really—a very good shooter. Weapons have tremendous weight, animation is top-quality across the board, and levels are divided up into arenas that are, in the main, interesting to fight across. It’s also got a well-implemented set of stealth mechanics, including close-range takedowns, alternate paths, and satisfying throwing knives.”

“That said, this is still the most fun I’ve had with a singleplayer shooter since Bulletstorm, and the most substantially well-realised setting for a shooter campaign since Metro 2033. Its writing, music and environmental art all achieve far more than you might expect from the game about a preternaturally durable testicle with a revenge fetish and a gun in each hand. In a genre that is often overtaken by derivative or exploitative games, it’s a pleasant surprise—a reminder of a time when a shooter’s singleplayer campaign was the main event. A time when these games were made with attention to detail, care, and a bit of love.”

How can you like beat 'em ups but “not like character action games very much?”

The fuck is wrong with you? :shake:

They use too many buttons. That was certainly his critique of modern beat em ups like Scott Pilgrim. Too many buttons.

Wat.

How’s this guy playing 6-button fighters if something like Scott Pilgrim has too many buttons? :shake:

Needs 3 buttons:

  1. Abusable move

  2. EX-version of abusable move

  3. Quick rage-quit macro

just recently snagged Dust: Elysian Tale - or whatever the fuck it’s called - on the Steam sale. Thoroughly surprised with it.

Good:
-metroidvania
-nic art
-combat
-fucking Izuna Drop combo from Nigga Gaiden? That get’s another 300 points

Bad:
-fur-f**ag shit
-Only compatible with the Xbox 360 controller, or other controllers officially licensed for the 360. Pull out your inputmapper programmers for this game.

Currently get’s a Good/10. I will see how far this impresses me; rating subject to change.

Also,

Shoutouts to @gren for giving that code to Thomas Was Alone

Bought this on sale a while back but still haven’t played it, basically because furry shit. Only bought it because so many people insisted. You’re able to forgive the furry shit for it being a great game? I might have to actually try it.

Yeah, I hear a lot of positive stuff about Dust but the aesthetics put me off. I’ll give it a shot eventually, though. I’ll just skip all the cutscenes so I don’t puke. I also need to play Guacamelee, speaking of Metroidvanias.

I downloaded Watch Dogs but I’m hearing the performance is all over the place even if your PC is amazing. I’m not a fan of Ubisoft as a publisher/developer, but the concept of Watch Dogs is really interesting to me, and, I haven’t played through an open-world game in a long time.

As long as I can drive around and have fun, I’ll be happy. I also need to reinstall Sleeping Dogs.

I try not to let aesthetics put me off of interesting games. I found Dragon’s Crown to be really fun when I played it but a lot of people felt ashamed to admit playing it, much like Arcana Heart.

I sold a bunch of crates from Team Fortress 2 and picked up Blood of the Werewolf. The game is REALLY reminiscent of Mega Man. Graphics are a bit blocky, kind of reminds me of Sam and Max graphics, but otherwise I am enjoying the game thus far.
