The PC gaming Thread. Steam/GOG/Origin/Etc. Game/Software/Hardware talk

Finally…

Still a bit too expensive I think.

Oh, how is Killer is Dead?

FTL got an update! Hype as shit!

anyone have recommendations for software to be able to use a ps3 controller on the pc (other than motioninjoy)?

thanks!

This is what I use: http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-XInput-Wrapper-for-DS3-and-Play-com-USB-Dual-DS2-Controller go there and follow the instructions, its pretty straight forward.

Works well for me after I converted from motioninjoy. I think JoyToKey is okay too, at least that’s what the Team Meat guys tell you to use for Binding of Issac.

Just bought a new PSU 2 days ago, a corsair hx650 way on sale. Then this pops up for the same exact price: seasonic g750

Having serious buyers remorse.

Anyone ever RMA with newegg?

Watch Dogs as a preorder on Steam.

Solid release date now, cool. Time to start deal hunting.

What was the FTL update? I might reinstall.

New weapons, new race (they suck air out of rooms), new ship, new systems (hacking-shuts down a system in the enemy ship, cloning-revives dead allies and heals after jumps), and original ships each got a C version. All I can think of off the top of my head

Below (Cabybara Games) confirmed for simultaneous Steam release.

Transistor, too. And Secret Ponchos is all but confirmed for PC. The consoles’ indie-exclusive sails are getting all the wind taken out of them :stuck_out_tongue:

So does this below game have anything going for it? Or is it just like myst where all you do is explore?

I watched the two vids and nothing is poppin’ out…

Below announcement trailer showed some combat Diablo style and I’ve been very hyped ever since and the developer has a great track record.

So I managed to get my old rig working again.

It was a pain in the ass, but it required a completely new mobo. Surprisingly, all of my old components are compatible with it. I only upgraded the ram to 8GB at the moment, but I do plan on bumping up to 16gb if necessary. An i5-750 is okay for the moment, until games start requiring 8 cores (which is stupid since most don’t utilize that much processing power), but a 9800 GTX is not going to cut it.

I’m down for matches of TF2 and CS 1.6. My name on Steam is Thespian’s Anus, add me

i5-750 Has 4 cores with 4 threads, so it’s recognized as and works as an 8-core processor. http://ark.intel.com/products/42915/Intel-Core-i5-750-Processor-8M-Cache-2_66-GHz  @ the bolded.

^ Even if you use a random program to look @ your specs(like CPU-Z) it’ll look at your PC like it has 8 cores.

All anyone needs is a decent video card to keep up with this generation. People need to keep in mind 99% of games releasing on PC will be PS4/Xbone ports, and the PS4/Bone have garbage processors in them(your average i5/i7’s beat it out) only 8GB of RAM(most of which is reserved by the OS/other shit on both systems) and a 1-2GB AMD GPU.

^ Sit around/hover slightly above these specs and you’ll be fine for the entire generation. At most I’m only looking to upgrade my GPU in X amount of years, and if I feel the need to, my processor as well. Since my PC still slams everything thrown at it not called Crysis 3, I don’t feel my PC is all that outdated yet. 99.9% of everything I throw at it runs @ 1080/60 FPS.

I think I need to upgrade my graphics card I don’t think the one I got was very good when I built my pc. Witcher 2 looks unplayable when I try to run it

That’ll be my “Congrats on the job” gift to myself.[details=Spoiler]Once I get one :bluu:[/details]

@Exodus. Make sure you turn off “ubersampling.”

It kills performance.

Huh I’ll give that a shot next time I boot it up. I’ve acquired the first one since I originally got the second so it’ll be a little bit until I actually start to play 2 not to mention DSII comes out in two weeks.

Does anyone have interesting new games to play? I’m looking for something that’s totally different from the norm here.

Well, with the terms you mentioned in mind…

Kantai Collection. Google it.

You asked!

Long Live the Queen is a enjoyable little game. Be sure to save a lot
