Best I can throw out as an example. I’mma be real, though, I’m bad about anything that’s not at least $800+ due to my enthusiast-ass. Plus I yanked that build from another dude who was actually $670, but I was iffy on the video card and that he didn’t choose a custom cooler (but then again, it’s an i3…most people who go for beefier rigs go for i5s up and down, unless you wanna empty your wallet and get an i7 processor).
Fuck… lemme keep at this, but website is easy to navigate and look at other examples and build something nice.
EDIT:
As example of the dumb shit I currently have (ignore the compatibility alert, the liquid cooler fit just fine in the case I’m using).
I’m trying to top out at $800 but hit about a G when I went to PC partpicker. I looked up the recommended specs for SFV and Dark Souls 3 and it looks like this might be overkill (if a thing even exists)
lol, You snagged the wrong link. Check around where you start at the top of list picking your parts… should be a link generator already set up for you to copy and paste (would be in upper-left part of window).
Man, when you’re building a non-enthusiast $500 PC you don’t try to go Intel. Please with yo “enthusiast-ass”
That said, I still haven’t looked at your build so I’m (mostly) joking. For now.
@drwill439 I’ll post a ~ $500 build, but first I’m going to suggest you save at least $250 more dollars so you can get a better CPU/GPU and also ask you what kind of games you play. Also suggesting that you wait a cycle. New GPUs by both Nvidia and AMD are coming around June. Prices on current cards will Mmmmm… drop!
Also, do you have a monitor? What kind?
Let me do some work and I’ll post a build that can accommodate various scenarios.
GTX 970 is really good performance-to-price (and it’s what I put in my computer), but the $300 price tag is going to be hard to fit into a $500 build. So this is a prime place to save up a bit for. AMD graphics cards should be a little less expensive, but I’m not well-versed in those.
The other thing to keep in mind is that if you buy Windows retail (…) it’s another $100.
One thing to think about: If you are going to go with an SSD (and this day in age you probably should), you can probably use JUST that drive for a while. (How fast will you fill up a 120-250 GB drive?) You can then add on a terabyte or two of platter drive at some later date when you can spend some more money.
Yeah I’ll let you guys handle it, since I’ve hung around too many PC MASTER RACE [details=Spoiler]assholes [/details]who swear up and down to shit with Intel.
Edit#2: I just went with a SSD because I’ll have a 1TB external coming in on Friday. I’ll get an ‘on-board’ hard drive to go inside the SSD for later (if that’s possible).
Well, from most of the jokes (and few real stories), the AMD graphics cards tend to use up a lot more power AND generate a lot more heat. Processors (as old as they are, currently) are fine, though.
