It IS an Obsidian game, so there’s going to be jank, but it’s a very underrated game, and one of my favorites from last gen. Basically it did everything RPG-wise that Mass Effect utterly failed at.
Shit isn’t pointless once you hit the Shadow Broker DLC!!!
But let’s be honest, Mass Effect 3 was the real pointless game plot-wise.
I love how all the questions in 2 never got answered in 3. And the part 3’s DLC to explain the plot further only conflicted with the story for part 1, creating massive plot holes.
ME3 was just a poorly written mess. Apparently the original story they had for it was fucking gdlk and for some reason they changed everything to the shit we got.
New Witcher patch is godlike. So many good changes and more graphic options. I now have hairworks on (low), foliage distance high, shadow quality high, rest ultra. Locked in at 60 FPS.
I don’t like those style of isometric RPG’s. Old Baldur’s Gate, Obsidian’s Pillars of Eternity, Planescape Torment, etc. etc.
I don’t like that movement is in real time but everything else isn’t. The pacing is too slow for me and the gameplay in this genre is boring. Games like Diablo and Path of Exile are a 1000000000000000X more fun and interesting to play imo.
Alpha Protocol has the best dialogue system I’ve seen, as well as the best ally trust/distrust mechanic I’ve seen. It also has a fun plot with crazy characters, as well as lots of variables that can influence missions and endgame situations.
The gunplay is so clunky though. Play it on Easy and breeze through it, or at least find creative ways to be broken.
…also play Witcher 3 guys. Whoever has access to it, play it. Bestest.
