The PC gaming Thread. Steam/GOG/Origin/Etc. Game/Software/Hardware talk

I have been playing casual matches in Counter-Strike(GO).

Only tested hair works on Geralt, haven’t done it on everybody. Only played the game for like a half hour though, before work the other day. Hoping to sink some time into it this weekend.

Frame rate is fine I don’t have any issues.

Beautiful.

Anyone play Project CARS? Is it a suitable simulator for learning how to drive real cars in real life? No access to a real vehicle atm

Yeah but make sure you buy the strategy guide, it’ll teach you the highway code

Anyone curious about Brawlhalla, they just had a major update to some of the mechanics, and two more characters finished. Key giveaway via this site.

Apparently one of the first testers of dx12 with windows 10 preview confirms that with even a three year old gpu (670) and cpu there’s been a 400% increase on draw call throughput Lolz

@“Ki Shima” I hope I see similar gains with my 980! (wishful thinking)

Witcher 3 had another patch drop. Better hairworks performance again… I drop to 45 FPS when using the crossbow, so maybe this patch will help the transition be smoother.

Also, there are a lot of sweetfx profiles out there that really let you change the visuals to your style. I prefer the vanilla settings, but I might play around with some others.

Still haven’t left the opening area, but next weekend I’ll get a chance to put some time in.

Random sale price notice, Best Buy has the Logitech G930 wireless headset on sale for half off, 80 bucks in savings.

It’s basically the wireless version of the G35 that I have, which I couldn’t possibly be happier with. I fucked around and broke one of the earpieces off, just glued it back and it still works flawlessly. The actual speakers have lasted me far longer than any other headset I’ve owned. Unless you’re gonna drop 250 on some Astros or something, this is an amazing deal.

Witcher 3 is crack. Help.

Also gwent.

The CS:GO patch is pretty sweet. There’s an actual Deathmatch mode now, and after a certain amount of exp in competitive/DM you get guaranteed item drops.

It’s all about dat competitive, though. B)

New AMD GPU’s to supposedly arrive June 16th.

^ There’s a countdown for AMD’s conference too:

Pretty sweet. I want to do an entirely new PC build in the next year or two. It’s either that or I upgrade my GPU(I feel like my CPU would be a bottleneck if I were to do that, but with DX12 who knows?)

Oh, what’s that? It’s the sound of my change jar a’jingling while I save for one of them bitches.

I’m loving the AMD hate in the comments of that link, Sonic. FEEEEL that hate, fanboys.

Supposedly NVidia has a 980ti ready to counter whatever AMD puts out.

AMD needs to release dem high-end HBM cards to make NVidia sweat.

It will always be back and forth in terms of raw power.

Right now it seems like AMD is slow to put out drivers, from what I read. And they also don’t scale well with slower/older cpus.

I don’t understand the flame wars at all with GPUs. NVIDIA and AMD have their pros and cons, but the competition between the two is what drives the industry forward.

It is almost as if people on the internet get really emotionally invested in the things they own and get super upset if people say bad things about them.

Bundlestars has some nice deals on.
Probably going to pick up the F.E.A.R bundle and the Omerta bundle. Shadow of Mordor + DLC for 20 bucks is pretty good, but I already have it.

Fear 3 steam key:
7RA9G-V32LF-9T2PF

Fear 2
D3AJY-4HPRB-JPY5X

Neither are as good as the original, but they were enjoyable enough.

Green Man Gaming also has Batman: Arkham Knight for 40% off (36$ usd) with the coupon code
BATMAN-ARKHAM-SAVE40
Which is a pretty nice discount…but I’m a little hesitant to pull the trigger. Just kind of worried there will be glitches /a visual downgrade/bizzaro world DRM that seem to plague modern releases.

I played through FEAR 2 & 3 on PS3.

I played FEAR 1 a few years ago on PC but never beat it. It’s crazy how well the gunplay and graphics hold up. FEAR 1, DOOM 3 and the Riddick game all could hold their own against a lot of PS3/360-era titles when it came to graphics.

Edit: FEAR 1 > FEAR 2(the multiplayer is amazing, I wonder how the community is on PC? It died fast on PS3) > FEAR 3.

I might snag SOM since i got a rocking 970 i want to test. $20 isn’t bad for all that DLC that comes with it.

I want to try the ultra textures on my 980… But I can wait for it to be even lower.
