Well you’re into card games already, it’s like that except you can move around and block with units to somewhat mitigate the losses from bad draws. You’re still gonna lose to bad draws sometimes until you get enough cards for a super deck.
Crafting is sort of impossible with the current numbers (you earn spirit SO SLOWLY) but you get plenty of gold for booster packs just by playing and doing dailies. So you’ve always got new cards, just hard to craft specific ones right now.
Every faction has some dirty stuff, Vetruvian seems like the weakest to me atm, Magmar seems really strong. Songhai and Abyssian have their own OP shit. Lyonar is just a big avalanche of stats.
I’m playing it a lot lately, really enjoy it.
EDIT: I just learned something new. Lyonar’s Sunstone Templar (1/4 with rush/dispel) doesn’t actually have to use it’s dispel right away like the little purple dispel guy does. You can summon one, and then if you don’t attack on that turn, whenever your first attack happens is when the dispel occurs. So if you see a Lyonar deck put one out and do nothing with it, get him out of there before you try to buff anyone.
Yeah 430W had me looking at the spec list kinda funny.
Also pre-built is for the fucking birds man.
Just doing a really quick lookup of all the parts they include, I can build the exact same computer with a 600W power supply instead for $704. The only problem here is getting my hands on the motherboard. It’s out of stock practically everywhere. I can get a refurbished one for $50 but I dont like gambling on refurb components. It almost always means it originally broke on somebody, which means it’s liable to fuck up again for you. Other than that the other option is to drop $240 for a new one to some sad sap who bought it didn’t like, and refuses to get less than what he originally paid for it. I aint giving you two and a half for that shit bro.
I really wish Digital storm sold their cases. The Bolt II is sexy. They offer a service where you can send them your parts and they build it for you but motherfuckers charge $1200 for the case + Labor. Fuck that shit.
Wait a bit, spend more money and get a better CPU+GPU. You also should be able to get a 1TB HDD for the same price. For about $50 bucks more or so, you can get an Intel processor with hyperthreading(so you’d be rocking 8 cores instead of 4 that that AMD one has) and for like 50-100 bucks more depending you can get an R9 290X GPU with double the memory or you could go for an NVidia card.
I personally wouldn’t recommend that CPU+GPU combo. You’d barely get better performance than a PS4 on third-party games and you wouldn’t even be able to turn the graphics on “full” on certain games that require 3-4GB of GPU memory. Right now that rig is a budget rig, but if you dump an extra 100-150 bucks or so, you’d go from a budget rig to one that can slam anything you throw at it. B)
^ When games look like this in their ALPHA STATE you need all the power you can get.
Epic games dropping bombs right now. have a playable alpha that shits on completed games that you have to pay for. Then release ue4 for free. They are not fucking around right now can’t wait to go home and download the Ut4 update.
Everyone and their mother wants to use the Unreal Engine. Makes sense to drop subscription price and get more people in right now. Later they can reinstate it or have a lot of best sellers they are taking 5% of sales from.
Yeah, and he can enjoy missing out on 90% of games.
I’d sooner just use a trial version of Windows 7, and spend the 2 minutes required to reset the trial period for a year(no 3rd party software required). I find that Windows tend start bogging down a bit by that point anyway, so a full reinstall isn’t a huge deal.
Unity be like “yo man, we got this. Who needs Unreal 4? c++? Pssh, dawgs… we got this”
Then we got Source 2 being like “hey man we free too” like what the fuck?
My question is, how does Unreal 4 run 2D games? Shit has Paper2D, but I dunno man…
I just wanna make a simple 2D game on C++.
Why do I gotta learn HTML 5? I don’t wanna.
Desktop? Pretty sure most in here built their own gaming rig. I’m going say… about 80% of us here didn’t pay for Windows. That other 20% should be embarrassed. Laptop? Yeah, you got me there.
Btw when does DFO CB start (asking here instead of checking the DFO thread or their facebook, wow me), because I wanna get serious in that game. I saw some PvP matches and that shit had me all hot and bothered.
Gtx 960, now un-gimped with 4 gb frame buffer. No pricing info yet, but it’s dumb that they even put out a 2 gb variant at all.
Also, I was gifted ground zeros… I’m not a big MGS guy other than MGS1 (which I beat many many times), but after messing with ground zeroes I don’t think I’ll be able to resist Phantom pain.
You’re in luck. Unreal Engine 4 is for yoouuuuuuuuu!!
Now make a generic game with the preset models, put on steam, and make dat money!!!
Also, I only bring up HTML 5 cause of the Construct 2 engine. People are making claims saying Unreal Engine 4 can’t play 2D games well. Not sure why, seems like you can optimize about anything on C++, but whatever. Unreal Engine 2 has a plugin called Paper2D and it seems legit. People have been making blurry 2D Duke Nukem sprites (or whatever they are called, where the image is always flat but you’re in a 3D environment), but I’ve never seen anyone with real art talent and programming talent to put this to use.
People are saying if you want a 2D game done right, you’ll need construct.
But then again, how does unreal engine 4 run isometric games?
I played the new pre-alpha for UT4 and that shit looks amazing on epic settings. I was getting a constant 60fps throughout the game but it would dip a few frames when there about 32 bots on the map. For an alpha it plays really smooth and I was enjoying the speed and pace of the matches. The high res maps look great and the tutorial does a good job teaching some of the more advanced techniques like slope dash, lift jumps, wall jumps, etc. I am definitely excited for when the game is released because if it is this good in alpha it can only get better unless they seriously fuck it up. The modding community will be great for this game since Unreal engine 4 is completely free so I expect to see a lot of great maps, skins, and mutators.
I wish my computer could run the UT alpha. By the time the game drops, I should have a fully decked desktop, and I’ll probably be here and in tech talk trying to find out what to put inside of it.
