The PC gaming Thread. Steam/GOG/Origin/Etc. Game/Software/Hardware talk

I swear the FlatOut games are always on special.

Well with the Squeenix sale, there’s not many games that interest me that I don’t already own already (which is like most of them). Might buy Hitman Blood Money since I can’t be bothered to renew PS+ to play it on PS3

Sorry I did not clarify it sooner. The partition was changed to RAW. It is completely inaccessible through external or internal methods.

Started playing Darkest Dungeon. Fuck, 3 of my four party members died on the first dungeon. Thanks for missing EVERY FUCKING ATTACK during the last fight.

edit: seriously wtf…i am doing the easiest dungeons, and my party is wiping in like one fight. Every attack i use whiffs, then enemies gets like 40 attacks that do ten times more damage, and causes status effects or pushes my melee characters out of attack range. This game designed to make me rage?

The early missions can be a bit of a grind, once you get some XP under your belt it starts to become more manageable. Having a larger barracks to recruit more party members helps a lot, since you can manage their stress more easily and still have options for the next mission.

cant even get through any missions. Enemies are wiping my party out like mad. And healing in this game is retarded. Heal for one hp, then get attacked for 10 damage o.0

I have never played a Tomb Raider game ever :frowning:

10 damage is a lot early game, are you keeping your torch level up? Once it gets down about half way, monsters start to do more damage and are more accurate, you get better loot and crit chances though. Dark runs are all about risky loot farming, if you’re dying a lot just make sure your torch stays at dim light or above.

Have a Vestal in every party, and just use her as a sustain bot. Make sure once she’s level 1 and you unlock the guild to upgrade skills that she has both single heal and party heal. Don’t wait til people are low to heal, do it constantly to top people off. If you’re low and you wind up with a small ability, you can combine stun abilities and party movement to stall that last enemy out multiple turns to take more healing turns.

yeah, I was trying to heal, but like i said, healing for 1-2 points for the party, or 3 for self, when enemies were hitting for way more than that, seemed a little OP.

Finally finished one mission without my party wiping…had to buy like 40 food though, to make sure i was constantly healed.

And yeah, I’ve been keeping my torch lit. Just getting bodied, plain and simple. We shall see, later on.

I’ll try the stun+heal shit, I was thinking about having to do that.

On the plus side, I gave one of my characters syphilis at a whorehouse.

That is quite handy to have on my phone just in case.

I didn’t see a step there for “lose your fucking mind”…that’s my personal favourite step

Valkyria Chronicles is 50% off on Steam

I purchased kof98um and kofxiii on steam a while back, I tried to run the stupids games today, I spent all the night trying to make them work with no luck.

98um has no sound and ends up crashing right before the opening ends in the same spot every time, if I try to start the game it will crash immediately.

kofxiii won’t even start

i’m done, fuck computers!! fuck steam!!

Party heal is a little weak at first, one upgrade will make it always heal 2, and beyond that it gets better. Make sure to upgrade your roster size first, and early on don’t be afraid to abandon missions early or retreat from fights. I’m onto the level 3 missions, and it’s hard again. So it does seem to be a loop where you start off really struggling, then hit a power spike when you’re at higher levels for the missions, then once you qualify for the next “difficulty” it becomes hard again. Having a larger roster of characters to juggle helps a lot, if you’re short on resources to heal stress in town, you don’t have to take those characters.

I just lost a party member for the first time in a while, 2nd tier Hag fight happened without me being healed up. ALMOST got through it without losing anyone, but she took two turns in a row (only boss to do that lol) and bopped my Hellion right after she came out the pot. A tip for when you get to that fight, you need characters that can hit the back two spots in the row, because the pot takes up two units, and as long as your party is healthy, just let your teammate cook and wail on the witch directly every turn. Unless you go into it low on health, you’ll usually win comfortably. Do try to take level 2 characters for the Swine boss and Hag boss, though. Necromancer boss isn’t that hard.

Party/self buff abilities are strong too. Crusader defense buff made him take 1 damage from almost everything thrown at him, early on in the game.

Odd, I never had problems with either game. Online is lacking, but it’s SNK so you’re always risking that.

Hitman Collection and Tomb Raider collection are looking quite tempting right now…

I need a new healer. So many party members wiped. I kept getting witch doctors and bounty hunters. Oh boy poison and chain grab. I spent a little too much on upgrades and rehab for my derelicts…i mean party, but we shall see. Been spending all my upgrades on the skill upgrade place, black smith (one point in each), and the rest has mainly all gone to upgrading recruit thing. Doing a little better now, should be interesting once I start getting going.

I still rage my fucking mind out at how the enemy gets like every dude attacking during a round, and I seem to get one 4 hp attack occasionaly, then get raped.

Still haven’t fought a boss yet lol.

The Necromancer boss isn’t too hard, he just raises party stress really quickly. The Hag boss is easy as shit if you go in healthy and just ignore the whole pot gimmick, but if you go in with the wrong party she’s fucking impossible. I had Crusader and Leper the first time I fought her, and neither could even reach her. The Swine boss is probably the most stressful, just don’t attack the small pig because the boss pig rages out if you do.

I don’t use Witch Doctor that much, the nicest thing about him is that he can buff damage and heal status effects. But you’re taking a healer in every party so sometimes taking two purely support oriented characters is rough, imo. I don’t think he’s bad, just not my preference. Blinding grenade can stun two targets on the back line at the same time, which can be super useful. Bounty Hunter is pretty boss, just because he has a wide range of positions he can attack from. His “Finish Him” can hit damn near anywhere regardless of position. I usually take him with that, the hook that drags rear enemies closer, and whatever else.

A lot of people’s experiences seem to be varying though. Dat RNGeezus. I got hit with party hunger 3 times in a row randomly in a mission earlier, that really sucked. First time that happened. The numbers aren’t fully tuned for some aspects, it seems.

Is it worth those 20€? I’m tempted, but wonder just how long/fun the game will be, once it becomes a full release.

I’m enjoying it, and it’s a roguelike so how long it is really is up to the player. They’re designed to be replayable.

finally I got it working, looks like there was a problem with the installation even though I re-installed everything yesterday in 2 different drives it didn’t work until I used revo uninstaller that it completely wiped out the whole installation and erased the registry. I also used CCleaner afterwards.

what a pain in the ass I hope if controls are easier to figure it out I’ll have some time to play some matches tonight.
