Best PC release: Shadowrun: Returns
Best console release: Titanfall.
Iāve gotten the most mileage out of Titanfall than I have any other FPS game. Iāve bought it on all three platforms, and Iām excited for the prospect of a Titanfall 2: Fall Harder.
Yeah, itās one of those difficult but fair type of platformers. It was free on Xbone last month, and Iām finally at the point where I can get through the first level almost unscathed and under 5 minutes. World 2 is a complete bitch, though. If it follows the trend Iām thinking it does, then each world is gonna be completely different from the last, which means you canāt get used to a damn thing.
A couple of tips for those that are trying to play it
[details=Spoiler][list]
[] Your second jump is an attack. Use this to your advantage. You can point your sword downward by pressing RT/R2 while in the air. Spears can be thrown in the air.
[] There are 4 pickups. The wooden shield (breaks on 2 hits), the iron shield (doesnāt break), the helmet (no noticeable change, just protects you from losing your shield if you get hit), and the flaming sword (does double damage and has a larger radius when you do the double jump attack with it).
[] When climbing ropes, you can switch sides, which is normal for platformers. You can also attack from a rope. Lastly, if you have a shield, any attack that hits the shield will be blocked from that side (Note that taking a hit from the front will make you lose your shield).
[] The order of pickup appearance is always the same: Wooden shield, Iron Shield, Helmet, Flaming Sword.
[] Taking damage when you all the pickups will make you drop both the helmet and the flaming sword. Further damage drops your shield. Another hit means death unless you can find a shield.
[] When you get the iron sword, you can hold the spear button (or hold up and the attack button) to charge your spear. This is good for clearing out areas and can even take out enemies who are tougher than most others (for example, a charged spear takes out a level 3 lizardman, and a bunch of level 1 lizardmen behind him. Do note that you must have the iron shield to use a charged spear. Having only a wooden shield doesnāt allow you to charge the spear.
[] Your dodge roll has invincibility, but itās not always the safest option. You can roll cancel your way out of charging a spear.
[] (This is a World 1 specific tip) The plants that spit that shit out at you take 5 normal sword slashes. This isnāt the easiest way to beat them. Also, a spear lodged into the wall will protect you from the projectiles that are spit out by the plants.
[] If something feels difficult, thatās because itās supposed to. I know of one specific place in World 1 that will piss a lot of people off, but you just have to keep your cool and relax.
[] Feel free to explore. There are a couple of spots in the first level if you want to try and get some pickups early on. Just be prepared to earn those items.
[*] The first half of World 1 is much easier than the second half, but both parts are generally not difficult once you get them down pat. Even before you get them down pat, youāll only struggle with them for a little while.

Volgarr is great. The only game ive ever speed run (ran?). Got to 7th on the leader boards for valkyrie path
Helmet speeds your attack up. No damage change.
Roll goes through enemy bodies but gets hit by attacks, alternatively shield blocks attacks and takes damage from bodies. note:shield takes damage from a specific attack. Youāll know it when you see it
No mention of mjolnirā¦
Hmm the sword for certain, idk about the charged spear tbh. Its not really featured in the run much.
Donāt get frustrated and go kinda slow at first. There is so little randomness in the game that you can figure out enemy patterns after a couple runs.
Also attacks are roll and jump cancellable. Dunno how helpful that is in a regular play through but good to know none the less.
e: Actually the start up for the spear is faster with the helmet, still dunno about the charge. I know this because it makes movement a lot faster.
when i was messing around with it i think i was able to get 4 spears out in one instance of leaving the ground (jump and double jump), which i thought was pretty crazy. volgarr was pretty tight. did you guys beat the alternate levels that were harder?
I think spear throwing like that is probably the best damage aside from the fire sword.
The alternate path was the path I ran. It just sort of made sense since level 6 was way shorter and having the flame sword was so important since it makes boss kills way easier so you end up picking up the warrior spirits just by progression.
I actually think I beat that path before the standard path.
Finally got around to playing Freedom Planet. The game is soo good. It feels so much like a classic Sonic game. There were times where I wanted to spin dash only to be disappointed that I couldnāt. The boss battles have been fun. It feels like something I would expect from Gunstar Heroes.
They cost $300 when they launchedā¦got them off amazon for $160 including tax
Noise cancelling is fucking ace, the base is what you expect from sennheiser, and the clarity of picking up sounds youāre normally not supposed to oh man no muddiness at all these are awesome!
I also did not know OCZ had bad SSDs. I used their RAM for my old set-up back from about 2003-2010 and it was aces. Sad to hear their SSDs suck butt. Iām on a Crucial M500 SSD after upgrading memory from my Kingston. The boot-up is not as fast as the Kingston by itās literally by like 1.5 seconds. No reason to cry. Adding that Corsair XMS3 RAM gave me 12GB of memory for my dick to flex. It benches trucks now.
Yeah the drivers are easily accessible. Either way it works great and saved me some money.
Edit: if you like dragon age⦠You owe yourself to play inquisition. Iām really enjoying how the game is unfolding.
It really feels like this should have been a part of 2 plus maybe an expansion of 2 had been done right. Either way, so far itās brilliant and I came into it as cautious as anyone. The only thing that bothers me are some of the consolitus control designs, but I can live with that.
If you donāt like da origins, you probably wonāt find much here to like.
