They won’t get money when they release their next product. I know after the shitty ports of MK9 and Injustice and their lack of support I ain’t buying another NRS game on PC again.
Fixed.
I’m actually not even sure what I would get. I have most of the games that I care about either on my 360 or my laptop. Then again, I’m thinking about games that are already out, which will have the deepest price cuts.
The problem is that these games are being made primarily for consoles and then being ported over to PC. Like Skyrim, who’s UI is screaming “Plug your 360 controller in!” PC was clearly an afterthought here.
Well at least it’s not completely broken. Like I haven’t had any CTDs or anything so far. It’s just the performance just goes from optimal to temporarily shit.
I really don’t think I’m gonna try it yet. It’s licensed, and there are few licensed games that I like.
On the subject of free, DotA 2/LoL are pretty good examples of legit free. They have a great product that they are letting you use without ever having to buy a thing. The game makes you want to spend money. LoL has a slight advantage on the side of making money, since their rotating character list makes you want to play a specific character and you end up buying him (and even then, you can earn in-game currency, it’s just faster and more convienient to drop 5 or 10 bucks).
Get a character to end-game with a decent build then let me know what you think of PoE. A well-built character in end-game in PoE is more fun than a well-built character in equivalent games like D3, Torchlight II, Grim Dawn, etc. etc.
That and their isn’t cooldowns out the ass on every other skill like Grim Dawn and D3, which makes me feel more like I’m playing some MMO/RTS than a fast-paced, action-packed isometric action RPG.
I’ve played 99% of games in this genre since Diablo 1 and Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen. PoE’s one of the GOAT’s if you give it the chance/time it deserves. It’s the kind of game that you appreciate more and more the more you play, the more you become accustomed to the mechanics(which there are a lot of) and as your general knowledge of the game goes up, so does your potential for a sick build/badass character.
I have a backlog spanning multiple consoles and handhelds and I don’t even care. I’d rather play PoE. The best game in its genre since Diablo II.
I mean, that’s rather unfair to say since Grim Dawn doesn’t have an end-game build as of yet.
However, I’m on the same boat as you when playing the genre, being a huge fan of Diablo 2 as well, PoE has very obvious issues. The beginning if PoE is extremely boring, but does get better with time. I have gotten an end-game build before steam release, however since Steam, I haven’t gotten myself above level 70 in some time.
I still play PoE time and time again, but I will say, with these new patches coming out for Grim, it’s kinda hard to not lean towards that game instead. Caster weapons are fuckin awesome, even if they’re buggy as fuck at the moment.
Shit, someone mention Child of Light? Didn’t see that.
Yo, that game… I didn’t like lol.
It had a neat idea, but literally no depth.
The game is all based on the time gimmick, which doesn’t expand any tactics or strategy in the later game. If you found a good/funny loop infinities, you basically do that maneuver over and over again (was playing on Hard the entire time as well).
I hated getting items like Remedy that stated to cure Toxic status, only to find out the only negative styles were all time based (simply Slow and Stop… nothing more. Paralyze = Stop, so you can’t count those 2 different status since the Remedy item cures all negative stats anyways). There’s power up in Def and Atk, and there’s Wall that prevents interrupts on your attacks, so there ya’ go.
Enemies are very un-creative and uninspiring. Each boss has 2 minions, kill the minions, you win. This includes the final battle as well.
Good side; music is good. Art is good. That’s about it.
