Get FFXIV, @SoVi3t. I just made an alt character so I can play through the game with new people that are taking advantage of the Steam/Amazon deals. Godlike game; more than worth the sub fee #Kreygasm
Just cancel your sub when you feel like you don’t have the time to play anymore. Don’t leave that shit charging your bank account.
I went ahead and picked up BlackGuards before the sale ended (well it’s still on sale, just no longer 66% off), looks like an interesting Pen and Paper RPG style game.
Also, I know people see RE4 on sale, but Resident Evil 6 just went on sale for 75% off. Not sure how the game is, but my autism always lure me into putting hours on end the mercenaries mini-game.
@Smashbro29 Clearly my comparison of Gone Home to Metroid Prime was limited to its first person environment exploration, hell you could compare it to Dark Souls in the lore collecting aspect. Whether you enjoyed Gone Home or not, its a shame that clearly it’s intent and themes were lost on you, and you should read the definition of what a video game is if you do not consider it to be one. Also maybe on smashboards posting spoilers is cool, but here that shit is just plain obnoxious are you so lazy you can’t use a damn spoiler tag? I don’t care whether people like or dislike any given game as that is purely subjective, but don’t let your dislike of a game lead you to post objectively false information about it.
@Lightz Actually, you’re the fool then, as no object has any intrinsic value especially in a capitalist market, any object is only worth as much as the people are willing to pay for it, if someone paid $9001 for a game and felt it was worth it then it was. You’re equating value of a game to its length, a standard which is purely subjective yet you treat it as a universally objective benchmark…a mistake most SRK’ers make daily Also I do consider Gone Home to have some aspects of horror while not being a horror game in the traditional sense and that is the point really, although I do understand why some people were disappointed with it.
Alao I have Beat Hazard for iPad, the visuals will make your eyes bleed because of all the explosions of vibrant color and the generic EDM OST really adds to the impact, just watch any YouTube game play and you’ll know in 5 seconds if you’ll like it or not.
Guys please vote for the rogue like bundle, I want day Teleglitch!
I thought everyone knew the ending by now, every critic ever was all over that for months but you’re right, spoiler tag was my bad.
I’m also sticking by it not really being a game even point and click adventure games have inventory puzzles (challenge), it could have just as easily been a first person indie film.
Fuck everyone who didn’t vote for Ikaruga by the way.
@orochizoolander I respect your opinion but you see its not just the length of the game but it barely has any real gameplay. I want something that has replayability and as good as the story is, the game itself is pretty bland, has no real challenge and is fairly linear, which is why I said its best to buy it for $5. Thats just my opinion.
Gone Home had the potential to be a horror game. The atmosphere was there (stormy weather, massive empty house, random TV and lights on in the house) and some of the backstory of the previous homeowner and some of the rooms could’ve made it a decent horror themed game but its not and honestly its fine the way it is. Just saying that there was potential.
As for Beat Hazard, I’ll pass. Also good luck reading this essay I wrote XD
They weren’t trying to make a horror game, though. They had a different story and a focused, linear style. They used the medium to tell that story in a unique way, and I think that maybe it was lost on you because you were waiting on a scare. Not every game has to be like every other game.
