But honestly, the irony behind the RPG maker is that it’s a poor tool for RPG games.
The RPG system itself is lack luster, only offering so much because the user friendly tools are restricting freedom as to what you can do with your games. Sure, you “can” script better things into the game for more “freedom”, but it’s using the Rudy language which is already bare bones, and if you try to code in anything that isn’t familiar with the RPG maker software, you’re gonna have a bad time.
In other words, RPG maker is basically a trimmed down Ruby engine… which is already ass.
Honestly, just get on Unity if you want to make something that’s noob friendly… or wait for the unreal 4 engine.

i went thru a few trailers of the games you guys recommended. I ended up rolling with X Com (and the DLC…9 bucks, thats cheap…) i was a big fan of the original so I look forward to playing the new one. i copped Love too cause 1.50 and it actually looks entertaining, alot like S.M.B which i already checked out on 360. i watched the trailer for Gemini Rue, it reminded me of Flashback with its POV, but I dun think its my cup 'o tea. I was looking for some older JRPGs but there arent alot of turn based ones it seems. I might check out some on emulator and call it a day…i was a big castle crashers guy on 360, but i slept on battleblock…I’ll go peep it.
I meant to edit in that love is probably like a dollar right now. It is super short, I can beat it in less than 10 minutes, but the first time through is pretty hard and the soundtrack is worth thw price of admission

I am really glad that the walking dead season 2 went on 50% sale. I don’t see it going on sale for any more.
I am really on the fence with dragon age origin pack. It’s currently a non flash or daily sale, so it might got for more than 50% somewhere down the line…but the gameplay looks too much like World of Warcraft Hunter+multiple pets. The way Bioware is tackling the plot sounds really cool. Gonna keep an eye out for that and thinking if XCOM really is worth the price if I had to choose between the two.
