The PC gaming Thread. Steam/GOG/Origin/Etc. Game/Software/Hardware talk

Fuck! I built my new rig a month ago and brought a 680. I should waited another month :frowning:

It was about the same price as the 760 with 1/2 the memory, right?

If I waited I could have gotten a 2GB GDDR5 card instead of my 1GB for the same price. I’m not too worried though, I’m going to wait for the new processors/memory(I think DDR4 is coming out soon?) to hit before I upgrade again. At that point, all of the higher-end stuff now should be ridiculously cheap in comparison to how much it costs now. I’m thinking a few months to a year or two into the PS4/Xbone’s life will be the prime time to upgrade/build rigs.

It was double the price. This is the one I brought

The price of the 760 is more up my alley. I’m gonna to stick with my rig for a while. I’ll probably skip a generation before upgrading again.

Wow. The 760 is still a nerfed version of that card, but still, holy shit. You could have gotten two 760’s for the price of one 680. I’d be pissed. Oh well, the 680 is still a #2 card or so, and every “next-gen” game demoed so far ran on one. You can definitely skip a generation before needing to upgrade with that card, so fack it.

That sucks for me…but odds are that majority of the games I would like on sale, I already bought from previous sales.
I can wait until the holidays…which has a longer time frame.

There is a phone app you can use during evo to buy

How long will the GTX 660 SC last me into “Next Gen” with 8GB RAM?

Though I am considering upping my RAM.

Just curious, has anybody here tried Firefall?

A buddy of mine is on the team, so he convinced me to try it out last weekend, just starting it for the first time. Not sure if anybody here is already playing and wants to game together?

I have it on my PC but havent played in a while. Has the game launched yet or is it still in beta?

Just went into Open Beta yesterday, which seems to be code for “Our games not ready yet but we’re F2P so we need to launch anyway”

Steam is melting down, it has to be…

Keep getting a heavy load error from Steam. Just when I was gotta purchase Super House of Dead Ninjas

Steam is working against me -.-

Tip for people new to the steam sales:

don’t buy anything unless it’s a daily deal, because chances are it will be a daily deal at some point. If the last day comes, and it wasn’t a daily deal, then go ahead and buy it. Games that are 50% off now, will be 75% off by the end of the sale for a limited time (most likely).

I’m gonna buy Civ 5 for my brother, but waiting for it to go down even further.

Anybody that doesn’t have L4D2 yet, pick it up at $5 and lets get some srk groups going again

Gotta get Scribblenauts and hopefully Borderlands 2 if it wins the community vote

Ha i read that tip earlier today, thanks. Also i saw l4d2 and planned on picking it up, I’m down for some games

Yeah I was so excited when Scribblenauts came to the PC, I picked it up. I have fun playing it with my 3 year old actually, I would ask him to come up with solutions to problems. They typically involved Dragons and Lions… and they actually seem to work very well most of the time. Worth the $5 easily.

I voted for BL2 as well so I can gift it to my brother

Steam summer sales have started…I know there is a steam sale thread somewhere but im too lazy to find it.

I’m getting *L4D2 *and Hotline Miami when I get home, I got the Alice: Madness Returns earlier this morning. I’ve seen it about 10 times when I’ve gone to rent games and I like the Alice in Wonderland “mythos” or whatever you want to call it [Lewis Carroll being an awesome mathematician by day and a lunatic drug fueled writer by night]

Just snagged Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition.

Experiencing my first Steam Summer Sale. My wallet is not ready.
