Since you’re switching over to a AMD card I recommend using this to remove the nvidia drivers once your card arrives

Well… My dad’s PC keeps running into boot problems again. Before it was missing a boot file so we reinstalled win 10. Now after a couple weeks it’s just saying failed to start up and unable to auto-repair PC. Repair with the cd worked, but I don’t know why this stuff keeps happening. Is it really the SSD being bad??
My guess would be bad sectors/blocks on the ssd.
In command prompt type: wmic diskdrive get status
you want it to comeback as “OK”
You’ll need a 3rd party application for a more thorough check of an SSD’s SMART utilities (Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology).
This was the cloned drive, right? Did you go for a clean install after the initial problems? If you did, did you opt for the quick format or full format? Full format scans for bad sectors, quick does not.
It wouldn’t hurt to run CHKDSK in command prompt either.

AMD just put the RX 590 out behind the barn. Why even consider now with a Vega in the same price range?
They did it just hours before Nvidia put the GTX 1660 TI on the market.

Really tempted to pick up a RTX 2080 this next week and give my wife my GTX 1080. She recently picked up some parts for upgrades, but she’s being stubborn over a 2gb GTX 960.

Here’s my current, auto-defaulted to options for Metro Exodus. May try my overclock again to see if I can bring up that minimum framerate a bit. The benchmark tool is really configurable, so I may use it to dial in settings that will eventually go into the .ini file if I can look for it soon.
