I don’t have confirmation of this: though I’ve heard that the meter does not accumulate during (at least) an EX or a super.
Though if this isn’t the case; I still don’t imagine the refill will be able to keep up with the amount of meter being consumed with each rep unless the reps are slow. In which case; the Pandora time will cut off the combo before you got more than 2 or 3 reps (which would be possible without Pandora) anyway.
Frankly though; EX loops in Pandora would not be much of a gameplay issue at all. Not only is the scaling in the game significant, but the damage values for individual moves are not high to begin with. You still need 10 unscaled fierces to take down an average life character from 100%. (even a 30% damage boost from gems only cuts this to 8) Irregularly high damage being racked up within Pandora’s very brief time frame is unlikely; but huge damage wouldn’t be a game breaking eventuality in any case, given the unreliable and situational nature of the mechanic.

But it doesn’t refill while doing super animation and not while in ex animation either (I think), so that is a great weakness.
Ps: in the akuma trailer you can see he comes in after pandora activation, and have to juggle with 2 jabs to make the meter fill up.
thats not bad in reality…it makes you use normals then just relying on EX moves…but if you see how fast that bar fills…it doesnt matter.
Well, in reality you will only use pandora to punnish with super or ex move, or juggle after a wallbounce etc. And with 7 seconds of total, and no meter refill during animations, you don’t have much time to do more than 1/2 ex moves or 1 super with pandora. Also you need to get the pandora gem to do more damage than normal in pandora mode, so I don’t see the mechanism as very powerfull sadly:(
its character dependent, and immense power lv3 isnt the only useful pandora gem as proficiency lv.3 with a 40% meter reduction is really good…Characters like Lili can do up to 3 or 4 EX moves to max out her damage during pandora with that gem specifically . I wouldn’t worry about the mechanic not being good.
I hope you are right:) But for the character’s I play, pandora hasn’t been sp usefull. I can see it being more usefull for other teams!
All I’m saying is… To discredit pandora this early is silly. Were gonna start seeing broken stuff with it based on meter alone.
Example… If juri can follow up after ex mid… It’s gonna lead to Cross rush xx ex mid fireball loops. Meter will generate during cross rush. Or just ex pinwheel, c.mk, s.hk xx ex pinwheel.
Of course I dont know the system and haven’t played it once… Just if I can think of 2 broken things based in what I’ve seen… I’m sure great things will be found.
On the other hand, it’s also silly to be blindly optimistic. (check my last post here, in case you missed it)
The things you’ve just listed with Juri and liberally assigned the term ‘broken’ would already be possible for 3 reps (enjoying most of the potent scaling values) without pandora; and pandora doesn’t give much time to get that much further.
Example: though I’m not sure if this will make it into the final build, I recently saw footage of Ken being able to loop out of EX tatsu with a jab link, chained back into EX tatsu. The first 2 reps are worth a big chunk of damage; but the third rep was a waste of the 3rd meter as the scaling had killed the damage. A spare, third meter in this case would be more efficient either stored or used to tag cancel the second EX tatsu to go for a mix-up to reset the damage.
There’s no way Pandora would give enough time for more than a 3rd rep of this; so Pandora hardly plays enabler to such silliness. Now if you consider gems; he gets a 30% damage boost with 10 seconds of life with a Pandora plan; but could simply go with a +20% gem that lasts at least 10 seconds without killing him and still get absurd damage in general gameplay with just 2 EX stocks and no silly, risky conditions.
There’s also the factor that if Pandora does become quite viable in some situations; there is already a Pandora defence gem in place to normalise the damage in the case that they have the Pandora attack gem ready; or to significantly harm the viability if they use Pandora combos without the attack support.
I was told there is no attack or speed boost with pandora. I was under the impression there was. Dunno why.

Because older builds actually had a damage boost.
yeah old build had a damage boost, now you have to equip a gem for a 30% damage boost >_>’ and someone can equip a gem to cancel that out with 30% defense when you go into Pandora…the meta game. so proficiency is still good, im not sure if divine speed is worth it in pandora but honestly it can go either way.
The only benefit in being in Pandora mode now(besides looking like that godlike mammoth) is the near instant C.Gauge Recharge for the the duration. I can see Certain characters being able to exploit this more then others, but overall its still very situation based. I don’t think its possible but, do you think you could Pandora in Scramble mode?
So does the gauge refill after using supers/ex moves?
if so I’m thinking loops with ex moves that allow you to keep up juggles might be the way to maximize pandora mode, that or short hit confirms into supers that deal absurd damage.
im unsure on “when” it recharges but it does recharge when your walking, dashing, jumping, or in a neutral state. “apparently” it recharges during normals, but not during special moves or SuperArts.
