yeah i know right…ridiculous, but thats some hype shit tho…aww man IM HYPED…damn…i thought i would be pissed but that is gone.
i just hope you can’t stack the same Gem…

The most hype thing about the gems in my opinion though, is that you can get 30% less meter cost on your moves, basically making you have 4 EX bars instead of 3.
well ya but it makes it possible to do 2 EX’s then Super~ and thats some hype shit too.
Or EX to cross art/assault.
lol how? your parnter is dead…you kinda killed him to go into pandora…oh you mean just using the gem itself…im not going to backspace that…fuck that.
Well you can use three 10% gems to get 30% without pandora… I kinda forgot this was the pandora thread and not the gem thread XD
On the subject of gems related to pandora though, I noticed there’s a +30% defence gem when your OPPONENT activates Pandora, that one might be really important if Pandora becomes overused. It could infact net you the win if your opponent tries to finish you off with a pandora combo.
yeah that 30% defense gem vs pandora is some funny shit tho…
playerA: Ima fuck you up with dis pandora combo~
playerB: Oh fuck…
playerA: (post Super Art)…WTF?
playerB: Yeah…thought i was dead didn’t ya…but you’ll be though in the next few seconds…
@Dooplis- Oh my friggin’ god I didn’t know that was available, I am so equipping that Gem from the get go XD.
the gems suffer from penalties though mind you. =]
Do they? The list that was released weeks ago showed that most of the normal gems give you buffs but no penalties.
Plus in this case, I just need to wait for my Pandora-ed opponent to die when their timer runs out so I can just block all day and be fine.
i think for that demo there were other gems equiped…or it was in debug/Training mode(most likely solution) as ken didn’t suffer from pandora heart attack syndrome either when he didn’t KO his opponent.
So those Gems still need you to be in Pandora mode to be activated…
Edit: yes some standard gems have penalties…most of the lv.2 Gems do…like Immense power lv.2 has 20% damage boost but -10% in speed…who gives a damn right?
Well the +30% defense gem has no drawback.
Iron Wall Lv.3
Defense Up +30% ー 10 When your oppenent uses Pandora.
well Westlo you run the risk in them never activating pandora so it could be a wasted slot in some peoples eyes…others say better safe then raped…err sorry…so ya. but i agree there is no draw back to that but in a way…it go back to a mute point if you think about it.
Player A : Pandora(immese power lv.3-30%damage boost)
Player B : IronWall lv.3(30% defense) activates
Player A : still has the base 25% damage boost from Pandora…along with the other lol Pandora gems
I think what Seth meant is that you can’t cancel into Pandora Mode. The combo I saw was a wall-bounce follow-up, and I had theorized that would be the main way to land a Pandora Mode combo.
It has the drawback of doing jack if your opponent doesn’t use Pandora.
It might be worth it as a precaution of your opponent is running a team that might be a popular pandora team.
Pandora has too many factors for it to sound like a true threat. First things first, the character that can combo into Pandora needs to get hit. A lot. And considering how damage works in this game, having a character below 40% health and getting hit again might just mean your death. You can have both of your characters with the ability to do wallbounces, but you’ll still have to deal with not dying before being able to use Pandora. Second of all, using Pandora gems will cripple your strenght during the match, since you’ll probably have numerous situations that you could have finished the match if you used normal gems. And third, you must finish the opponent in a single combo. 10 seconds means you get to do a few hits and your super, no time for flashy resets or setups. If the guy gets up, you go down.
So far it sounds too absurdly risky and gimmicky to be a legit strategy, but I could be wrong (lol Dark Phoenix). I hope I’m not, though.
Seth stated that you couldn’t combo into Pandora, he said it in multiple interviews right after the mode was announced. It’s not I’m disliking the concept (Pandora had no use until now), it is what Westlo mentioned. The remarks that Pandora gave no value in terms of gameplay probably made them decide to enable Pandora activation while performing a combo.
Another note, I think they should add a signal/icon in-game so you could actually recall to use Pandora. I think you can agree upon the fact that in a lot of the gameplay videos we’ve seen from the test versions, lots of people in fact forget to use it when they reach their 25% “life left limit”.
The music changes significantly, isn’t that enough?
well the only thing to make Pandora alittle more common would be to bring back Guts…as you remember in SFIV if you were about to be KO’ed the KO letters above the timer would flash. this indicated that Guts was activated(also the music would get more intimidating). In SFxTK the Visual Cues are the Music starts to go all mono tone, and you heart that deep heartbeat, second is the remaining health starts flashing. however there is no Guts…in fact i swear i see people die faster when they have critical health.
But I don’t see how it WOULDN’T have been possible in past builds to do a wall-bounce and then activate Pandora Mode. For some reason, no one bothered to try it before. So I don’t think the game engine changed at all.
The only change that’s been made to Pandora Mode is that it lasts 10 seconds now instead of 7, meaning you can actually land those obnoxious cinematic super combos without killing yourself.
