Thank you, Twinniss.
Whoever said i wanted or was looking forward to hacking a PS3 pad in the first place?..LOL
nah, Iām just gonna Hack a USB logitech Precision Gamepad, I decided im just gonna make this current stick im making now for PC use onlyā¦and if that pad works for the PS3 then its a win win for me.
if that donāt work then i go with that Cthulhu shit, but if it does work ill still might keep an eye out on it in the future. Hope that soothes your hostile nervesā¦lol:rofl:
Thatās twice now youāve decided to call something you havenāt even tried āshitā. Any particular reason? Any suggestions to improve it?
people gettin offended over a non living object?..lol
nah, im using the term āshitā as a form of āitā. relaxā¦its all good in the hood my ill give it a go in the future once i make my 3rd and final stick.
why the fuck are you even talking about cthulu if you donāt intend to use a ps3 padā¦
what the fuck are you even doing here?
well id be dipped in shit and rolled in bread crumbs.
not only is the Logitech Precision Gamepad rhetorically easy to hack, its also compatible with the PS3ā¦to the point its EXACT key mapping is the same as a regular PS/2/3 controller. (That includes that Start and Select button as well)
with that being said, the chances now of me getting a Cthulhu board is hella slim to not even given a damn to give the thing the time a day to try it outā¦i mean hell, this IS the āpadhackingā threadā¦Amirite?
thanks for those who helped, peace.
well even though itās like $7.90 it has no home button and the exact mapping of buttons doesnāt matter if youāre gonna hack it anyway.
If you can post up links to where it could be bought and/or pictures, Iām sure some people will benefit.
Please also verify whether or not it works with PS2 games on a 20, 60, or 80 gig model. Thatās a cheap solution, so itād be nice for everyone to know just how well it works.
hey dude you fail to realize that this cthulu āshitā is still a lot easier to use even for pc, and you still be in a win win situation cause it actually works 100% on ps3 tooā¦
katalavou?
Iām having a hell of a time trying to find common ground 360 PCBs that are reasonably priced. Anyone know where to get the MadCatz stuff? Or is $30+ a normal price to be paying for themā¦
edit: is this the right one
ya canoshiz thats the one~ i used that same one for one of my sticks. i got it for 25 bucks at a local circuit city back then, but i checked online for them a few weeks ago and it doesnāt seem like they sell them anymore (well they have those āmaddenā editions that are like 40+ dollars). i think 30 is decent since its still cheaper than the official controllers, but you may want check and see if you can find a place that sells it under 30
Iām a noob and I am sure this is a stupid question but I want to see if I am on the right page. I want to build a 360 stick, I just take a USB 360 controller and solder the buttons and stick to the points on the controller PCB? Or do I need something else too.
If anyone could provide quick confirmation on whether this pad is Common Ground or not, Iād much appreciate it. Apparently the Madcatz 4716 has 2 versions that go either way and I donāt know how to tell the difference :\
No real way to tell, since its not listed. Its most likely the one that has common ground, but checking the page, I did not see anything.
Ps. Wow Slagcoin, man wish I had your site when I was doing these things, so nicely done dude.
OMG, I am listed in Slag coins site cries
Thats it, I am coming back!
I noticed in the item description, it states the followingā¦
Analog joystick invert switch
All the ones that Iāve come across with this feature are not common ground.
Gamestop/Madcatz is common ground
The Gamestop pad is common ground - I just made my first arcade stick off this pad.
I need help with something. The MadCatz Arcade Stick for the 360, to bring the analog stick to neutral, are you simply jumping two solder points, or do you need resistors? The diagram says āset triggers to neturalā, so I have to neutralize both the sticks and the triggers too?

Iāve got 3 of these sitting here ready to hack, and thatās the only part Iām not clear on. I know buried in this thread are instructions on how to remove analog sticks, use resistors to netralize them, but dang - I just canāt find it.
Iāll update the wiki with the right answer. I have a week and a half off work for christmas, Iāll try to read this thread start to finish and update everything I can then.
Read on page 67, towards the bottom of the page. Toodles gave a good explanation on how to do this.
Also, why are you trying to remove the analog sticks? IMO, just leave them on since they are more trouble than they are worth when you are trying to remove them. Might as well leave the trigger assembly on too they donāt take that much room unless you were planning on using the LT/RT buttons.
This can be done on all analog devices (sticks, triggers). Use two resistors of the same value to join the outer connections to the middle connection like thisā¦
