*The "padhacking" thread*

I know its been asked probably been asked before… but for the love of my life I cannot find it #@$!$!, and shoryukens search engine is dodgy.

Wondering if anyone has the diagrams for pad hacking a PS2 Dualshock 2 series H controller

Right there at Slagcoin

I don’t know if HRAP1s use the same board as HRAP2, but if they do, here’s a pic

All of the soldered points you need are on the right and left edges. Bottom left is where you solder the harness for the JLF. I don’t know what is what, but you can test out the points by just touching wires and stuff. You’ll figure it out.

i’ve yet to seen a successful hack on that one

You should read the padhacking thread. I know its in there. The link the other guy posted here:

has it too.

Could someone verify that this is correct (was a long time ago since I did it):

I cant tell if thats a dualshock or sixaxis …BUT… slagcoin has you covered.

Dualshock:

Sixaxis:

I’m not sure why you’re asking this here Per. You got the test point layout from me in corresponding a couple months ago. As far as I know, I am the only person to have recognized and mapped the TPs on the official PS3 PCBs. If you have a multimeter, you can use the connect setting and find connections between the pins and the TPs yourself.

However, I have not done the soldering of the TPs myself. Though it burns a bit, I’d maybe think of using masking tape to help in that job. Has anyone found a good way to mask working on a PCB? Has anyone done the soldering job on the PS3 TPs yet?

I know those but thanks.

I know we talked about this but I didnt know if I had the right picture or not because I had many off them with different names >_<. Answering e-mail all day makes you forget things real quick I guess. I have already done it on one PCB but I was going to make another one for another stick and I totally forgot what pic to use.

That’s understandable.
I just reverified my image a minute ago with a multimeter, and it’s accurate, though I have not noted the USB points.
But that image you have appears to be your newest one.
Did you actually successfully solder a DS3 on TPs? If so, how hard was it?

Per, we will need completed photos or we will not be able to believe you :wgrin:

Lets just say I have had more fun doing other things ;).

Get on MSN sometime if you have the time, I will try and help you.

Here is pic (not the cleanest ^_^):

That hurts my head just looking at it -_-;

Anybody have diagrams for the Logitech controllers?

I need them for ps2 & the old x-box. I’m trying to design a stick that will work all wireless w/ps2, xbox & 360.

im gonna hack a ps3 pad soon…
god the pic seems easy compared to when you look at the actual pcb…

the point where you gotta solder are so tiny…

btw toodles have you thought about making a wireless cthulu board for the ps3??

Recommedn 24 guage stranded for most work, 30 guage stranded for finer work like soldering to uber small pins like a SIXAXIS or some dualshock 2 mods.

Umm, no. Not gonna happen. If you want wireless, just hack a sixaxis.

Nice work Per. Sheesh, that thing reminds me of Cthulhu.

Gracias

Are there any 360 controllers out there with SMALL circuit boards? Something akin to the PS2/Sixaxis circuit boards?

The new first party common line wired controllers can be cut done WAY small with a little work. RDC got one down small enough to fit in a sixaxis case
