i saw a vid on youtube where he used a cheap chinese brand usb pc controller i don’t know if it’s compatible with the 360 or not. though here in the Philippines i was able to buy the pcb i’m using for only $2. the cheap 360 version is for $4.
I recently bought a couple of knock-off PS1 pads on ebay for around $2, but the cheapest I’ve seen 360-compatable pads was around $15. Also, I really need it to be common-ground, and while its pretty safe to assume any PS1 pad you see will be common-ground, that’s not such a safe assumption with 360 pads.
just a quick question about the brawl pad hack, does the “home” button light up under the control joy applet in windows?
Does not.
No Xbox 360 Controller does.
If you want to test the ‘Guide’ button on a PC then you’ll need to run a Microsoft Live for Windows game. Like street fighter four or Bioshock.
You don’t even need to be in a game to test the guide button, it’ll bring up a prompt as long as the controller is plugged in and the drivers are installed.
Can you explain this more please? As far as I know I have the correct drivers installed but there is no recognition of the ‘Guide’ button outside of a Live game.
PaperTigre is right.
A game is not needed to test.
Just press Guide anywhere, then a little box shows up.
i guess i my friend must’ve fried the button trying to put it on such a small area. the funny thing is, we still get a signal on the multimeter when testing for connectivity.
Weird, I’m just not getting this to work on my setups. Trying a 360 Brawlstick, Asian TE, and a TE-S on two laptops and a desktop PC (Win 7, Win Vista, and Win XP). Controller applet displays the correct name of the stick motherboard and displays all other buttons & directions correctly.
What drivers are you guys using and where are you getting them from?
Maybe you need to have the Games For Windows Live Client for that to work.
I’m using the regular drivers that Windows fetched when I plugged in the stick.
Oh, I forgot to say.
You have to install more than just the automatic Drivers that installs when plug in.
Here is what I installed.
Xbox360_64Eng.exe from Microsoft.
Choose your pick.

Hi there, got a GameStop controller here, and was wondering if you all could help me identify the 5v on it? Thanks all
The rectangular solder point under ‘R30’ and above ‘USB’
