Whats up everyone? Im currently working on a custom stick dual mod and I need some help. I’m using a xbox 360 madcatz fight pad and I accidentally scraped of the X button contact.
If possible can some one help me in locating the X button trace and how to scrape it to get back to the signal? The last time I scraped was when the SE fight sticks first came out.
In this picture I would say the signal contact is right under the X button.
Anyway, I cracked open that sixaxis controller and there are these two doo-hicky things I have no idea what they are or what to do with them…
I’ve illustrated that thin circuit sheet that the sixaxis uses, that gets slipped into a terminal strip. I pulled it out and will plug wires into the buttons accordingly…
Since there isn’t a common ground, with 3 or 4 different grounds, may I get an approval for correct connections from this illustration please?

I was hacking a dualshock1 last night… For first time hacker, things went nicely. After I confirmed every lines soldered working, I applied hot glue on the solder points as suggested on the forum and went to sleep as it was getting pretty late.
Next morning, I went back to the pad to test the connection again, and found out analog light doesn’t come on like last night (I’m using InPin converter btw.) unless I plug the connecter in certain way like tugging the cable connected to ds1 connecter to right.
I was furious at that point and removed now hardened hot glue thinking it might be culprit… In the process, I ended up lifting copper pad from “start” -.,- Thankfully it was easy fix. Analog light came up lot more consistently after the process however problem persisted.
After hours of frustration I tried spare ps2 usb converter I had (SmartJoy) just for heck of it… lo and behold, it worked without ANY problem…
so here I am, wondering what went wrong.
Could it be my soldering at “analog” point is causing this?
Hi guys, trying to mod my first stick. Having a lil trouble with wiring etc. Has anyone ever had any experience hacking any Powerwave sticks. Now the one specifically I have is called the “Powerwave PS3 Blazblue Arcade stick”? Now I’ve been told it’s a common ground? Any help further would be greatly appreciated.
just wondering if anyone has ever tried to hack a mad catz 4736 for the xbox 360. I was looking for a 4716 on craiglist and i thought i found one for 10 bucks, i couldn’t get downtown so i asked a friend to pick it up for me. When i got it was surprise, it’s like a mini version of the 4716. I’m just wondering if anyone knows if it’s common ground and if there is a diagram somewhere, i already checked slagcoin.com Here’s a pic
I wasn’t able to investigate much further but it’s not converter as InPin is working dandy with other ds1 and ds2 I have.
So that I could use it as Guide when I dualmod or ps3 home button when I use it in converter etc… I think I will probably remove it and try as it’s not really a necessity.
if analog light doesn’t come up when I connect it to inpin, it wouldn’t work at all.
when analog light does come up, it will sometimes work … or not.
if you are talking about pre-hacked period - it worked fine.
As I said earlier, it will work if I tug the yellow part of cable to right when I connect and keep it like that once it’s connected. Sometimes it will just work without doing it so I’m really confused.
is there way to easily open the controller plug?
This is my messy soldering attempt on dualshock1 at the moment.
my guess is that my hacking attempt somehow messes up inpin’s handshaking with this pad somehow… but fixing that would be way beyond my ability
Yes, that will work fine. Only problem is actually soldering everything onto those pins that are so cramped together. Hence, I always choose the option of padhacking PS1 digitals or (even better) first generation PS1 analog controllers.
