who do you think are the newbie friendly characters in this game? and how long do you need to get down hit confirming in a pressure situation reliably and comfortably?
I am in no means qualified to answer this cuz i’m in the same boat as you.
But I picked up Yoshimitsu as my first character, and he seems pretty simple to play lol.
Haven’t really delved deep into his playstyle, but i’ve been able to play alright relying exclusively on cs. mp into windmill when I have meter to start my offense.
jp. hp is pretty sick too and I haven’t really traded much with it unless its an srk or something.
As for hitconfirming, i’ve only just started playing. All up i’ve played about 5-6 hours of sfxt in total, and i’m fine hitconfirming Yoshimitsu’s link combos.
How can i break an attack of my opponent.
People beat the crap out of me simply cause i dont know how to break an atttack.
I see people break my combo’s but noone want to share how to do that… Anyone pls !!
Do you mean saving the replay of the match? If you want to do that, you have to go your replay channel (Online mode) and look in the collection the game saves for you. It stores 50 matches and you can save the ones you want on your hard drive that way.
Just played an online match against this one guy. Keep in mind he was not playing with a partner, this was on XBL. He had a blue healthbar and what looked like an autoblock gem in his loadout but thats all he had. He then used Cross assault and did what you could originally do in the earlier builds which was control both characters during the Cross Assault. I have no idea what gem he had…any idea what the hell this was?
Is there a guaranteed way of punishing dp xx “fadc”? ie: dp xx tag cancel.
Case 1: not a blockstring; eg: Ryu’s HP dp xx tag cancel.
Case 2: true blockstring; eg: Ryu’s EX dp xx tag cancel.
Second question, since Ryu’s HP dp xx tag cancel , partner does 3f jab (or maybe 3f dp?), is not a true blockstring, does anybody know exactly how large/small of a gap this is?
The size of the gap depends how close Ryu is to his corner when he tag cancels (how far the other character has to run) but I can almost always happy birthday Ryu and whoever just ran in with a cr.LK or cr.LP. If he is in the extreme corner when he DPs, I think it might actually be safe, because the other character becomes active almost immediately, possibly while you’re still in blockstun.
As for Akuma’s and Ken’s heavy SRKs and Ryu’s EX, there is no gauranteed punish (it’s completely safe), you will need the player to make some sort of mistake if you want to catch either or both characters.
Hi im a ibuki player that just bought sfxt. I just dont get why everytime i try to do the sf4 standard combo tc4 into neckbreaker i ALWAYS get the chain out.Thought they removed it from the game but saw it in a video the other day and im confused. I just dont know howto seperate the chain from the targetcombo.
same with target combo 8 witch you haveto use in trial 16 (i belive) and sjc that into the “super”. The superjump cancel isnt a problem at all but the targetcombo just doesnt come out. It always finishes with the launcher.
The timing m8. Chain combos need fast input. Try pressing the buttons slower. For example: there is a chunli combo that is lp, mp and then projectile. if u press mp too fast it will count as chain combo from lp therefore u cant do the projectile after it. I think this is the solution to the issue that you have although i never used ibuki.
Chain combos=fast input
Link combos=slower and more time specific input
Tried to input the buttons slower, didnt work. then i tried another thing. Im so stupid. All i needed to do was to hold forward while doin the first 2 inputs to turn it into the targetcombo (like it says in the game lol). thought i was like sf4 when you could do the tc from neutral position.
Hey guys, I’m back :). Been at it hard training combos and stuff, and for some reason I’m now playing as Nina/?. I’ve put some time in the training room with Nina and I can land several BnBs with her rather easily, though it’s alot easier to land them from left to right than right to left since the dp.motion is so much harder for me to perform from right to left for some reason :(. Switching to Sanwa buttons and stick made the execution much easier!
Though I haven’t found any decent second character, so once Nina is low, I’m royally screwed. I tried to play Juri, but for some reason I dont enjoy her as much lately and I can’t find anyone else to play as a second char.
my main team is Nina juri m8 and it works well. hwoa is really nice with nina too. btw if u are connecting the rdp move from a low punch or kick just do backdown when u do the low punch/kick and then if just do a half circle back she will do it.
