What do you do whenever you lose a match? Do you understand why you lost? What was the opponent doing specifically that you couldn’t overcome? What were you doing or not doing? Anytime you play a match whether you win or lose you have to come out of it with extra knowledge to improve your game. Perhaps the opponent was setting you up in plenty of tech traps and you just kept falling for different variations of it in which case you must then realize those moments and remember them so you’re ready next time.
Learning why you lost is important. Executing countermeasures to what you learned from that loss is what comes next. If you have a hard time sit down with someone with more knowledge of the game and ask them to try your team. With their knowledge they may be able to assist you with setups, team synergy (whether they mesh well or not), and a plethora of other goodies.
Anywho, sorry I didn’t make it to Nestors. Eddie offered to give me a ride but I have lots of homework to do, on top of studying for my future. I’ll get back to MvC3 eventually and help the community out.
just want to say thxs for have in me and my friend Q over nestor first time meeting him. i had a blast and u all no my mag wesker and ryu r beast now lol even on stick
Don’t feel bad Rafy, I only won one game last night. I was close in a few of them, but still fell short. Besides not blocking correctly, I still don’t know what I’m doing wrong. If anyone watched any of my matches, do you have any advice that can help me out. I was playing the Wolverine, Chun, Taskmaster team.
Lol I lose because I suck, my Joe is ass, I press too many buttons, I hate having too block, I get way too impatient, drop combos, and I have no fancy setups. Lol I lose because I’m a scrub!!!(and the fact that I know what I do wrong and I don’t know how to fix most of it lol)
Domination 101 read these if you havent. i have a hard time putting into practice what these things say, especially with mvc3, but they are pretty spot on.
also the salty runback needs to be retired. you guys abuse the fuck out of that at our house. if you didnt win a best of 3 your not gonna win that best of 15 you just made everybody fucking sit through.
Amen, this isn’t grand finals, you’re not resetting the sets by coming out of losers bracket so pass the stick!!!
And if the set is won/lost don’t expect someone to step in and take the stick, when the set is over with throw the stick up and ask who’s got next. If at that point nobody has next start another match, and keep asking match per match…not set by set.
Yo, Nestor’s house is famous for salty run backs. I do agree with the above post. Anything more than best out of 3, has to be predetermine before the match begins and agreed upon by the people attending. Examples would be a money match, which rarely every happens during casual hostings, but that should be the only reason for the sets to last longer than 3 matches.
What alot of people don’t realize is that MvC isn’t just combos. Yeah its a big thing. But if your complete focus is just on desperately trying to get a combo in, and it doesn’t even do enough damage (80-100%) you’re most likely not going to win. You have to play smart. If your character has no 100%'s without xfactor, then I guess you have to ask yourself if its worth it to use X factor early in the match, because sometimes it really is. Like when you kill their second char with a quick xfactor combo, you have quite alot of time to think about how you’re going to kill char 3 before he poops out of the side of the screen. A simple crossup if it lands can lead to that char dying, because you will likely still have xfactor activated from before. And if you don’t have xfactor activated from before, its most likely because you have 3 characters left, in which case you need not be worried about the other players x factor unless they have phoenix with level 5.
I guess what I mean is. Desperately trying to get a combo in without understanding the game mechanics. I see people who rush in and mash their c.Ls desperately trying to get a hit in, but they can’t block, and get hit by everything.
Abnormal hit it right on top of the nail. My problem is not doing combos. I can do combos all day in training mode, but in a real match the opp does not stand still. Who cares about the infinite if you cant land the first hit.
My problem is 1. blocking properly and 2. getting in. That’s what I need help on.
@GodofPez League of Legends is what the kids are raving about these days, that and Dubstep music, apparently. It’s 5v5 or 3v3 team based game based on the DOTA series. It’s free (Ashura), too! You should join.
@Alex Are you going to have MvC3 at your WWE event?
@Rafy: lol? Like every 2 weeks you cry about getting better. Do some freaking research on the game for once, geez.
Lol research isn’t my problem. I’ve done my homework, applying it is the tough part.
Whatevers, I “cry” on here hoping someone in the community can step up to help me out with something other than vague hints and tid bits of advice. Which is not everyone, some of you do actually help me out in what I’m looking for at times. Some other times it gets either ignored with the talking on other redundant shit /more important topics OR I just get trolled. God forbid I ask my community and the more experienced players how to get better. I’m done trying, you have to be 13 years old and naturally good to get help around here…and the funniest part is I’ve learned more playing with CJ for 15-20 minutes at Barfights than I have crying every 2 weeks. The only person who’s actually taken time off to help train me (online mostly unfortunately) is Ed back when we all played Super, because he was willing to help out and give extra time in other people. Not just a post on what to do, but how to do it. Anyways, I’m done with my rant I’ll be back in two weeks with more tears.
I’m off from work tomorrow so starting at 5 people can come over but I’ll have some Marvel just until Wrestling starts then no gaming anymore until after for maybe a little bit. This isn’t a game night.
BTW I have a solution to endless salty runbacks. The ONLY way to run a salty runback is if the Saltee challenges the Salter to a money match for at least 10 bucks 2/3 then it can happen. Otherwise no More Salty Runbacks.
This is coming from somebody who never shows up to casuals, never enter a tourney and never play any one. What happen to you last night? Where did you end up hiding? Don’t ask if anyone is hosting, you’re not going to show up. If you going to stay home, then see me on PSN yo!! Word up, before you get hurt up, and… and… however the rest of Pez’s quote go. Yeeeeeaaah, take that take that.
Yo, Rafy lets set up a time to get some games in. Let the scrubs unite, and then we’ll take over this place. Muah haha ha
rafy we live like 5 minutes away. just text me or nestor and if were home were down to play. im not that helpful in marvel but im pretty decent in super. either way matchup experience is most of what people need. i cant stress enough reading the Domination 101 section of shoryuken if you havent. it helped my view on things alot.
