The Original Flash1 is Back (A Product review)

Ikagi-chan, small stickers still tossing that option around. The Bigger sticker and pad and rubber - Sorry, to say I am not including.

Hmm… Y’know, just last year we had a visit from a guy claiming to be Mr. Frank Happ of Suzo-HAPP himself. I was a bit skeptical about it at the time 'cause y’know, HAPP’s a very reputable company amongst acrade enthusiasts, so it’d be a good way for somebody to yank our chains, as happens so often on the internet.

However, it’s an awfully strange coincidence that the HAPP company would start reproducing obscure Japanese parts for no apparent reason. This item wasn’t on our wishlist to him specifically but we did speak of discontent with the P360, wanting quiter stuff generally, our community has a generalized tendency towards preferring japanese parts and the flash was in incredibly high demand here. The stick was going for as much as a whole V.L.X. Gives me a pause for second thought on the manner. I mean especially since the news coming just in time for christmas would’ve pretty much been the best gift a man in his position could’ve granted us. Either way, I’m sure the community is rather thankful.

At any rate, I’ll definitely be getting one of these to try out. I disassembled my VLX to take a look at the JLF last year and misplaced it out of laziness… Have plenty of R1 and MvC T.E.s and maybe even an EX-SE lying around the house so I’m in no shortage of switch based sticks and apparently this is the creme of the crop insofar as optical sticks go.

One last thing though; assuming this is an exact replica and there are no changes, it’d probably be for the best to abandon the patenting process. The Sanwa FLASH, having been released to the general public in japan many years ago, might not be eligible for patent protection due to time sensitive novelty and non-obviousness restrictionsandonly the inventor may apply for a patent.

Then again, I’m not sure of the international licensing provisions of effective foreign patents…

lol. srk you slay me.

Found a R1 on Craigslist for 20 bucks. Best deal a kid could find. Jolly ol me has 2 R1s now.

Ok I finished up testing this… (sorry took so long, been super busy at work)

The unit work fine on PSX pcbs. tested in on both PSX system and PS2 system.

Great to hear about the PSX voltage. Now I’ll be picking one up for sure.
