I would donate as much as my expenses would allow me twice a month to toodles for a optical run… We could call em " Toodles Vision " or something to that’s a play on optical … If you sold the pcbs(think of this as a Flash 1 upgrade kit) at a 50-70 And sold 1000 kits, I’m pretty sure profit would be dope, only if it were that simple. Let It be known if I get into some deep pocket cash I’ll sponsor this project lol

Toodles, it sucks that the PCB is doable and the housing is the problem. I can understand you’d need a large run for something like that. It’s seems too quirky for someone to have to small batch of them.

I agree with beastSPL on this one; I love the Christmas themed snowman tablecloth. I had to actually look for the Namco Arcade Joysticks in that pic since the tablecloth was too good! :looney:
Haha. I have to do my modding on the kitchen table now because my desk is overtaken by sticks. I didn’t even think about the tablecloth in the picture. One of these days I’ll have a sexy work table. There’s also a can of fruit salad in the picture which is the ‘temporary holder of screws.’
does anyone have high res pictures of the partside of the ascii or even one of what is under the flash’s cover? if there isn’t any, if one of you that have an ascii wouldn’t mind taking a few good shots of the part side i would very much appreciate it.

Hmmm. The ascii uses four transistors to act as their inverters, while the p360/flash uses an actual inverter chip. Cool.
that is perfect. thanks. it doesn’t look like Tr1 or Tr2 have markings and the only one that is hard to see is the value on R3-R6, which should be the same for all 4.
Maybe we could ask Madcatz to help out in a production of optical sticks? Haha, prolly not (or maybe? Who knows.).
If there was a rallied effort to get Toodles’ opticals in production, I know I’d be down for it.

Just out of curiosity, how are the newer P360s? Getting interested in the whole optical joysticks and might as well start at the most accessible.
i have a mas stick with a p360 that is a few years old. it’s not a wico p360 but i really like it. i use my mas for mvc2 and jap sticks for everything else.
i know this was posted somewhere else awhile ago, but i couldn’t finde it. can someone link me to the picture that shows how to solder the wires on the ascii clone to the pcb?
