You do know the notation thread isn’t the only thread in the forum right? I’m pretty sure most of us care less about aesthetics than important aspects of the game, such as, online. XD Anyone could come in here and say “you guys care more about online than the actual gameplay?”. That’s kinda rude to me. We beat the shit out of that tree many times already, not having a thread for it doesn’t mean anything. =/ You do show passion, all right.
Just don’t get mad over simple stuff dood. I kinda do disagree with SOME of Windy’s statements though…
This too!!! Although this may or may not get stickied. Alot of people started to talk about the features they wanted (which was part of the goal of the thread). Although that is important to get more of a fanbase and to get more replay value, I think the overall netplay and gameplay matters more than features and most of us beside Shoultz and you haven’t really touched it.
Hey have any of yall played NBA 2k11? That shit is almost lagless. Hardly any input delay. Do yall know why that is virtually lagless and games like SF4 have a ridiculous amount of input lag?
it is 1 thing to talk about net play, its another to actually get the attention of capcom. Since I was able to come in here and think of a random idea on the spot to get capcoms attention, you guys didn’t beat it to death. We have a VS signature thread on srk for a darkstalkers 4 that Ono tried to use to make a new darkstalkers game. You can use this website to get capcoms attention, its not impossible. Would of it been sooooo difficult to make a ‘ggpo for mvc3 signature thread’ to show capcom how interested people are in better net play?
you could of also asked players whom would attend these gatherings for mvc3 to constantly bug the developers about net play but did anyone bring that up frequently? only person I’ve seen mention that is aldife.
if this game ends up getting bad netcode, I will be mad because I’ve been complaining about it FROM THE START. Think about if every scrub who wanted this character in the game, every scrub that wanted the right voice actors, every scrub that wanted the right outfits,** think about every single one of these players demanding better netcode and nothing but better net code, it would of surely made an impact seeing as how they did listen to the community about characters. But these scrubs would rather demand aesthetics.**
but as a community, we’re not talking about the right things as a whole. WHO gives a fuck about shit ball black spiderman and if he’s missing 1 outfit. Its not gonna mean much when the netcode we’re probably gonna receive is from 1998 and you can’t control shit ball black spidey accurately.
It doesn’t matter what we have honestly as long as there’s a 1v1 with great netcode. Honestly, if they did JUST that and didn’t focus on anything else, I’d think we’d see improvement.
I want a damn Arcade version. It’s just not the same
I’d like a ping number reading, as well as a way to set limitations on latency for both searches and joins for the host.
For example, say you have your latency filter to < 100 ms. When searching, you only get matches with that latency, and people will not be able to join your lobby with more than that latency unless invited.
Other than that, Online Training, Spectator Mode, and Lobby Skill level distinction please. BlazBlue was ahead of it’s time with this.
Nono, I’m just sayin’ we DO care, more than other things, try not to assume the opposite based on what you see being discussed. Of course we can try to get their attention, but there’s still the part where others-not JUST the SRK or competitive community in general-have brought it up plenty of times, through forum, interview, mail, etc. I’m really not sure how top players are going to influence them any more than the thousands of voices out there that have beat that around, but if you all think so, trying can’t hurt and I support you. There are companies that listen to individuals over a group and there aren’t, maybe CAPCOM can show us they do both. Hell, they know people like MvC as broken and fun as it is and are trying to keep it that way, so you could be right.
If anything, THIS is the normal. It only gets happy when release news happens, but outside of that, honestly, the hate and saltiness is the true reality of this board, and of human nature really.
I’ve talked with both of them, and encouraged them to put each other on Ignore. Feel free to PM me when you see things blowing up and I’ll start the healing as possible.
We are all learning here, and I hope that we can show some humility and respect our own limitations. Why just five years ago, I was a new scrub! Now, through time and effort, I’m a scrub that’s been around for a while!
I can’t go back and change the past, I can only try to make the present and future better. Let’s work from that understanding.
That’s more of a feature request. I love it, though - lobby training room minigames would be excellent.
In MvC2 Online, they made the horrid-in-my-eyes decision that there would be one frame of input lag minimum (on Low), and three by default. I’d love it if we had an online Tourney mode (effects off, close to the metal) vs an online Casual mode (effects on if you want 'em, higher pings/lags allowed).
No its not at all, if you are quiting you are accepting a loss. Quiting to get out of recorded losses is REALLY dumb. Temp bans(like 10 min or so) are great too, because it forces hotheads to chill for a bit.
In Soul Calibur people would just quit because dropping only reduced a small percentage of your next “level up” rank which means you would have to drop at least 2 or 3 times to even drop one level, and if youre winning much more than youre losing it would look like you were a GDLK player when in actuality you were a shitty player with a bad temper.
You would also get some bullshit “warning” that never meant anything.
I want people to be punished for being bad sports. You cheat and you lose.
I think it should go further than that, if you are a frequent cheater you should get some kind of thing by your name in the lobby to discourage others from playing with you. Aint nobody got time to play no shitheads.
