I want cds,
what vids are on those ino cds… i know a lot of them were on the hub. anyone have a filelist
It would be cool if someone could just tell me where Akuma and Rugal Rank in the Tiers, I havent played this game And I doubt it would hurt you guys to enlighten me.
akuma and rugal aren’t on buk’s list, which means they’re midtier, and i would agree. akuma has the offense to be top tier but he simply tanks damage, if he had the HP of ryu or ken he would be upper mid at least. rugal is pretty sucky in general, but he can be deadly with meter, that’s about all i know.

oh wow those videos made it to the EC now? I thought only like… three people bought them from me when they were new. -_-
Kang bought them from ino when he went to NEC a while ago
you morons actually paid the 25? its only like 100 matches. every match costs a quarter and you guys got robbed.
Not really… those match were hot,4 back n the day.
Plus where else can u Get quality CV2/besides going to Japan?
Those vids still own half the Us matches that are online today.
I like Shoryuken Dan’s roll, shoryuken Ryu over any A-groove character LZJ picks.
mid tier and low-mid tier now split up in the first post. Kinda hard to draw the line of where low-mid starts, but it’ll do.
hahaha my new team is N iori/sagat/blanka2. theyre so cheap. iori has roll roll roll and sagat and blanka have fierces.
i’m assuming you listed each character in their best groove, but i always thought N-yamazaki was his best version, and either C or K maki are ranked about N-maki.
and saying shiro or iyo (before he switched to C-groove) use them in those grooves makes them the best in those grooves is pretty faulty logic.
peace
C-Maki is one of the worst ones. Iyo just moved to C-Groove so that his Rolento (pretty easily his best character) would be better. N-Maki has a lot of tools that suit her better than K-Maki: constant threat of level 1 grabs, being able to combo from her low jump whenever, RC punch and RC run -> stop, RC back run -> jump back to get out of situations, being one of the fastest meter builders in the game…
are you serious? i thought C-maki was the best. stored super is HUGE because then she can become a watered down chun with standing mk/standing fierce into super (and that level 3 does retarded damage). she still has RC’s and builds meter quicker than N-groove (obviously) and you still get level 1 grabs. and why are level 1 grabs so important anyway? do they work as a “get out of jail free” card on wakeup against meaty attacks and RC electricity? plus stored super allows her supers to not be telegraphed and gives her a better chance to land 720’s and crouching mp’s linked into level 2/3 punch supers.
the only thing you really lose is low jump, but her low jump is too lofty like bison’s and can be DP’d easier than most other characters.
and what about yamazaki? stored super helps him somewhat, but nobody will be dumb enough to jump in on C-yamazaki if he has a level 2 or better. and RC’s, run, low jump, and COUNTER ROLL are huge for N-yamazaki. get a rh sweep, run up and low forward option tree for days.
Maki needs her run and low jump, as a lot of her best set ups require them. Level 1 grabs are really abusable. For example, getting an opponent to block a low jump forward is pretty much free damage if you level 1 grab when you land. If they stuck out something (and 90% of the time they did) you grab them. If they didn’t they can jump out on reaction, but that just gets you a free low fierce into mix up when they land.
As for the lofty jump, that’s exactly why Maki needs a low jump. When C-Maki jumps she’s just a sitting duck in the air unless she’s crossing up.
Yama is a defensive character by nature, and C-groove complements that better. Having a stored level 2 patches up his lack of a consistent anti-air in a lot of matches, and he also gets very easy free jump in set ups after either level 2 super. On top of that, C-groove helps Yama out by giving him millions of alpha counters to abuse… one of the most important parts of Yama’s game.
why isnt joe ranked higher. hes toptier to me. rank him #3.
Why do all of Kyosuke’s moves have pretty much no hitting frames whatsoever? Does he even have a meaty attack he can do outside of meaty launching super or jumping medium kick?
Kyosuke’s best up close fighting move, close s.LP, why did Capcom have to make this move hit HIGH only?
Anyway, I still think Kyosuke might be somewhat useful. Better than King definately.
Since close s.LP doesn’t want to hit versus crouching characters, almost all of Kyosuke’s up close games start with d.LP instead. If the other guy is getting up, you can use close s.LK as well.
-d.LP, throw
-d.LP, poor man’s counter hit d.HP xx dp+HP (3 frame gap)
*qcf+LK actually hits more consistently than dp+HP does, but dp+HP is better on the block.
-d.LP, wait, counter hit d.LP, d.LP xx super
-d.LP, walk forward, close s.MK xx cross cutter or dp+P
Close s.MK (3 frame startup, super/special cancelable) is easily Kyosuke’s second best up close move to d.LP. In fact, I think it might be Kyosuke’s only other good up close move.
The air combo:
-df+HK, hold up-foward, wait, falling j.MK, j.HP, j.HK, (land), close s.MK or fireball super
You have to do the three hit chain really fast. df+HK launcher is pretty fast at only 5 frame startup, but the recovery if blocked is hideous at -10.
Combos:
-d.LP, d.LP xx dp+P
Almost completely safe and puts the opponent into heavy block stun (like Hibiki’s special slashes). At point blank range, Kyosuke can do three crouching jabs into his fireball super for his easiest hit confirmation combo.
-d.LP x 1~2, d.LK xx gang bang super
Hit confirmable and does big damage as well.
-close s.MK xx something
It’s Kyosuke’s fastest up close move that hits perfectly mid so use it often for combos. Must be parried high (unlike d.LP which can be parried both ways).
-d.LK xx something
Must be parried low. +2 frame advantage so you can tick throw after if you decide not to cancel as well. Move is fast at 3 frame startup, but I really wish Capcom made this move rapid fire cancelable or at least able to link into itself. I don’t like how Kyosuke always has to resort to jabs up close instead.
The sweep I understand is slow because it has so much range. Far s.HK being just as slow though? Damn, that’s stupid. I wish cross-cutter was sped up as well. Kyosuke really needs to depend on those things at midrange for his offense. Slow release, not to mention a SEVERE vulnerabilty to rolls, makes this move risky to throw out though.
I’m thinking P-groove is probably Kyosuke’s best groove. Anti-air parry, df+HK is probably the best setup for the launcher Kyosuke’s going to get. He gets the useful low jump MK in P-groove as well.
*P-groove with infinite meter is the best groove I mean. Now that I think about it, I bet he really needs those level 1’s and level 2 cancels to be competitive at all.
Anybody have the X-Box version of this game? Did Capcom makes tweaks or anything to fix all the vulnerabilites I just complained about? Kyosuke would be good if his normals were only made a little better. Just compare his frame data to a character with good frame data like Yamazaki or Cammy. Wow, is that even fair? To quote the words of Buktooth (since everybody here seems to be lacking the ability to ever come up with anything original, so they always quote Buktooth word-for-word instead), “bleh…”
Buk…
You list N vice as the best version of vice. I was curious exactly how her low jump and run game assists her to the point that she is better than A and C vice. I know A vice kinda is bleh on the terms that her CC is hard as fuck to get good damage from, but in theory it seems pretty sound. It’d be dope if Vice could combo a CC off her hcb+f P command grab.
Anyways, back to the question. I was just curious because dash helps her so much terms off mix up because her dash is so fast. Her RC hcf+P is dope to mix up off cr LP or cr LP pause cr LK to catch them trying to jump. The way I see it, her dash is so quick that you can land dash grab supers alot similar to ticking from low jumps into supers. Also her dash gives her a nice crossup mixup off cr HK. So just curious on your take on why N Vice rates higher than C Vice.
Why list in any order the middle and low tier characters? The top and upper tiers are still contested on a regular basis (not the whole thing; I mean like the difference between #6 and #7). These tiers (especially mid) are debatable at best due to the fact that they’re not played as often as the upper and top tiers. Instead, you could say “in no particular order” above these. By doing it the other way, you make it look like it’s set in stone and mid tiers have no chance of becoming upper.
Btw, with Ryu’s history in cvs2, I think he should be upper-mid. There are still a few Ryu players who do something once and a while. What’s the precedent for A-Todo’s ranking also?

She can, you have to activate first though, making it a waste of the bar most of the time.
