I’m conflicted. On one hand it’s people like Rico that keep me banging my head against the wall with Abel. On the other hand, it’s people like Rico that keep me banging my head against the wall with Abel.
I’ve actually talked to quite a few players who’ve expressed a lot of doubt about whether they should even bother without plunking down money for an ugly, overpriced MadKatz TE (a qualm most of you don’t have because you’re fighting game wonks and are, therefore, stupid), so i’ve taken to directing them to clips of Rico’s Abel on YouTube.
So as far as that goes? Rico makes a huge difference. They go from being sort of crestfallen about that, to being enthused about the game all over again.

Bored and rummaging through abel boards even though I don’t play him as a competitive option. So I’m just going to comment and leave without saying anything worth a damn. In other words… I’m gonna fit in with everything else said so far…lol.

American’s, and this is through EVERYTHING in life and not just fighting games, like the big fancy shit even if its not the most SOUND choice. Hence resets being used over here in the states and not very much over in Jap. North America is just riskier playing for those instant-kill semi-combos (something that works well in a game like MvC which might be part of the reason the US does so well in it… that and there IS a Captain America but not captain Japan). But for streetfighter resets are not the go to option due to the reversal windows, safe SRK, and other things.

You know… I really wonder what the percentage of ppl that post constantly in non-informational fighting game forums (this is to some extent a first for me) are huge anime lovers. Unfortunately I’ve used the phrase nii-san plenty of times. Nissans are okay cars… DAMN… did it again… But ACJS (acute chronic japanafication syndrome) is a big problem in the United States.
