The old World Warrior - Guile invincibility was no myth

The author of the thread already answered that question. Just look for my post on the other page when I asked him about this.

I got all the glitches listed here down expect for the invincible one. I tried doing a magic throw with fierce kick and medium punch but it comes out as cuffs. Using fierce punches will eventually hurt my hands.

The bonus-stage-into-endings glitch can be found in TZWā€™s Video Volume 7, Long Distance Runaround. As far as I know, only Maxion is available onlineā€¦at least, Iā€™ve never seen Volume 7 online.

The glitch is basically completing what looks like a standard bonus stage (the car, the flaming barrels), but then afterwards it shows the characterā€™s ending on the bonus stage, and a dizzy character justs pops out of nowhere.

I am not sure if itā€™s a legit board or a hack though, because he does use hacked boards elsewhere in the vid.

Props to psychosis. Iā€™m no expert on WW glitches, but if this guy came out of nowhere and found a new glitch in a 15-year-old that was supposedly well-documented, then WOW.

Itā€™s not new. There are several sites which documented it years ago.

Oh well, hereā€™s another one which i had never heard of :-p

This glitch is odd. Guile disappears and the opponent scrolls up the screen repeatedly. Iā€™d never seen or heard of this until i did it accidentally, but luckily i knew how I did it.
Iā€™m sure it is known, if you muck around with the other glitches you might work it out :stuck_out_tongue:

While the opponent is scrolling do a sonic boom, but in the opposite direction from which you were originally facing when the glitch started.
This will freeze Guile and make him reappear in a mid suplex.
Do a flashkick to restart the opponent scrolling and have Guile disappear again also.
Do an Magic Throw to reset the machine.
Itā€™s fairly useless because i canā€™t find any way to resume normal play from here. Quite funny to do on Bison rather than killing him on the last round, and just to leave the machine with him scrolling.

As for glitch combos, yeah they are quite fun. A lot of the glitches can be done from other glitches, and into other glitches, etc.

Itā€™s also possible to magic throw someone to death by throwing them toward you, then away from you, and toward you again repeatedly. Some people used to call this a criss-cross. Looks cool cos they just bounce around on the ground at your feet until they are dead.

And yeah, the easiest way to super-freeze, or be invincible while the opponent is in handcuff, is to have them in throwing range, charge down back, tap forward and medium punch, then up-back and medium kick quickly. Keep holding back and when Guile is about to turn around from the handcuff throw do a sonic boom ~ i agree with fluxcore, itā€™s the best position to learn the timing for invincibilty.

But wait! Thereā€™s moreā€¦

Nothing new to me about this. I have seen it done before years ago. I thought everybody knew about this. Anyways since we are in the old sf games subject does anybody knows how to do the gltich were ken wears white. Have atleast anybody seen it the it.

LOL, how do you do it then?

Sheng Long?
CAPCOMā€™s best kept secretā€¦
Akuma Long?..
Aaaahahhaahahhahaha~
ā€œIf i hadnā€™t seen it with my own eyesā€¦, i wouldnā€™t have believed it.ā€

This is emulator-only, arcades just reset. Itā€™s the same motion as handcuffs, but with FP+RHā€¦ can screw up your j.FP, FP, RH Flash kick combos if you arenā€™t careful.

Sometimes different things happen, alsoā€¦ rather than guile just disappearing/reappearing, sometimes the opponent just takes damage until they die, or take damage when you press attack buttons, or other things also. Unfortunately it doesnā€™t appear to be consistant, so itā€™s not really a useful glitch.

Another invisible guile glitch is when you perform the ā€œfreeā€ flash kick on the wrong version of WW in an emulator, guile just disappears. Crashes and things can occur after that. Arcade machines just reset.

what about the same character glitch/code.is that widely known.Iā€™ve only ever seen it on the snes version.
thereā€™s also another awesome snes glitch which removes the energy bars and crashes after 1 round.
I apologise if everybody already knows about this shit!

yea thats like what select at the options screen 30 times or something? All i know is its gay, cuz you cant win. I almost dare say theres a time limit, as ive beat up the cpu for say 5 mins in a row, and then i got hit like 3 times, and i automaticly died.

Nahh, the fp and rh handcuff motion resets on the emulator versions for me as well. Thatā€™s always been the ā€˜Guile Resetā€™ as far as i knew.
Might be different on Callus? I havenā€™t used that emulator before.
The way i achieved this was to freeze Guile in his normal freeze, but have the opponent jump over you but staying at throwing range, basically just so they were behind you.
Then doing the Magic Throw/handcuff motion that is used for invincible.
But I canā€™t verify it working on arcade, so you are probably rightā€¦
Handcuff with fierceā€™s definately resets for me though.

I still love this game ~ the glitches keep it alive.

Really? Which emu are you using? Iā€™ve never found one that doesnā€™t do the scrolling glitch. Kawaks, FBA, Callus, Nebula have all done it for meā€¦ also, which version of the ROM are you playing?

I just did it on chunners and got the outcome where you scroll up for ages, then slow down, then scroll back, repeatedly. Time over, eventually it stops, guile is in ā€œwin through time overā€ pose, chun li is in the hurt pose, and the game is frozen like cuffs in timeout. This was just handcuffs+FP,RHā€¦

Iā€™m using MAME32 0.72
The handcuff with fp and rh resets on all the versions I have Iā€™m pretty sure, and to get the scrolling i have to be in a stance first.
Street Fighter II - The World Warrior(World 910522)ā€œsf2ā€
- (US 910206)ā€œsf2uaā€
- (US 910214)ā€œsf2ubā€
- (US 910228)ā€œsf2ueā€
- (US 910318)ā€œsf2udā€
- (US 910411)ā€œsf2ufā€
- (US 910522)ā€œsf2uiā€
- (US 911101)ā€œsf2ukā€
- (US 910214)ā€œsf2ebā€

Theyā€™re all the versions I have, lol.
I canā€™t remember if iā€™ve tried it on every single one, but i know I have on at least on most of them, and the outcome is the same. One of the versions seems harder to do invincibility, and some now and then Guile will flashkick when you do a magic throw (not very often).
Iā€™m hoping the MAME emulations are just closer to arcade than the others :-p
The main difference i noticed in the versions were little things like your characters name might be under your energy bar on the bonus stages etc, different demo fights or those ā€˜winners donā€™t use drugsā€™ messages.

I just tried it on some of the US versions again, and they are going into that scrolling glitch instead of resetting, LOL.
Ooops.
But the World version definately resets everytimeā€¦ I guess i must have usually been using that one when playing it. Cbf trying it on all of them tho.

Yeh, I found the scrolling glitch by mistake when i was jacking around on my mame cabinet. Had a friend come over and we were trying to remember all the glitches. When i went to do the reset guile just scrolled around. We just looked at each other in confusion.

hope. i am not too lateā€¦but i really interested in it
