I never knew about you until I saw you posting on AN. Then it all came full circle that you were on SRK. People were like “yeah, fear jae, he’s the mod at AN.” And I’m like “fuck jae. that nigga couldn’t fit these shoes even if he tried.”
And then we became insta-pals or something. I’m surprised you haven’t banned me from AN either. It’s like you guys need me. Seriously.
I believe everyone when they say jae is the top hater. I could make a post about having the shiniest Dunks ever and he’ll tell me to STFU.
I can’t remember why me a Strongrrr got into it but if I recall, he was trying to get “oldschool” 2000 on me about something and I just went off. I specifically rememeber a lot of people were laughing at her…I mean him. He would flagrantly flaunt his homesexuality at me when we argued and if I said anything about it I was a instant homophobe
Hey Jae what was that fighting game site you referred me to a long time ago with all those uppity double standard geeks? I got banned after about 2 months being there
I actually did you give you a warning before, I will ban your ass if I have to. :arazz:
Yeah they all say that because I am about as sugar coated as a 2 x 4 to the nuts. I either chased off or banned over half the people that posted in the gd section. That is fine though considering they were assriming hermaphrodities.
I remember when there was a huge SRK Homosexual thread to. Strongrrr and Green Trench Coat and HvS used to post in there all the time. Then me and a couple others I cant remember got sick of it and started posting in a SRK Heterosexual thread which then got locked.
Man and the controversy over the 240 rule, I didnt like it either but after having a discussion about it I understood the point. HvS freaked the fuck out, it was like someone stole his favorite pink vibrator. He started accusing people of stalking him, people kept trying to tell him aint no Bloofys around here.
Apex was so bullshit, I remember that I was 13th for the year in CvS2 in my region and I missed more then half the year and I wasnt even that good.
I remember when Apoc used to rant daily about A3 not being at Evo to. Then every other week there was an A3 at Evo thread by someone different.
Man back in 2k1 people dont remember but 3S was fucking hated. I dont mean alittle bit either, it was straight up ripped to shreds.
Fuck I dont even remember the name of it, I was just trying to get someone else there that knew what they were talking about. I left after the admin warned me because I made him look like a moron in one of the political threads.
I lurked here for, like half a year before making my account, I used to post in gamecombos.com and I was scared to post here as everyone told me SRK was full of hate. So I stuck to FGD and lurked for a looooong time and then realized the guys in **gcc.c **were pussies.
Then someone made a thread about quantum physics or something of the sort and some guy with “Dragon” on his SN started posting the most retarded shit ever “The nothingness is made of electrons! XLOL!!” and SolGoodGuy (aka quiche) and me ripped him a couple of new ones.
Then I started meeting lot of cool people here and had to leave 'cause I lost my PC, my internet connection, my job, my daughter and my sanity.
Lovin’ SRK’s eras is a matter of being involved in the chaos. I miss Jive but I’d miss CarpetLint too if he was gone. It’s nice to see so many faces around I never met but knew from my lurker periods.
I only came to this site to find competition for 3s in San Diego after rediscovering my part-time obsession with street fighter. Shit was ignited by my jc’s (Southwestern bitches!!!) recently (then) constructed center with built-in arcade that housed the 3s machine.
I went to Nickle City in the northern area of SD only to realise how much I suck by getting beat down by some dudes (Edma, Viscant, Ellwarriors) in 3s. That, and I made a few journeys to various people’s pads. I was pretty high back then.
Anyway, I eventually tripped onto gd and shit had me laughing. I never really told anyone I know about the site since most don’t get on this thing we call a computer.
I’ve been laughing since.
I say 98% of my small # of posts are intoxicated to one extent or another (including this one yay 40 steel) but that’s only cuz it’s too much work to type my brain out sober.
You dudes have a writing/typing ability that keep me coming back in intervals.
I spent a majority of my day in court trying to get these kids off probation. DO WHAT YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO DO WITHOUT FUCKING UP!!!
Yea I remember you and I used to be pitted against each other in EVERY damn CVS2 tourney back in Seattle. It was almost like they wanted us to take each other out. Our brackets almost always had Rat and I forget his name but he was asian and played Yamazaki just as good as Rat.
I remember I was ranked about 12 or something and Kuan got all pissed saying I sucked and he never liked me. Then we played a friendly match after a tourney and he barely beat me. Someone who hadn’t played a SF game in years prior barely got beat by someone who had been playing for years It was by inches of health and he dropped the n-bomb and we got into a fight. I hardly talked to the guy.
I think he hated me cause all of Tekken players would talk shit to each other and he thought I was the biggest offender when people would be doing the same thing to me. We all had mutual friends in the SF/Marvel community and Rattana was telling him I was getting good.
I have an idea about APEX…make a universal rating system similar to Magic The Gathering and Chess. Where the only time you gain or lose rating points is when you play. If you don’t play then your rating stays the same.
Yeah alot of them were afraid of me to, I had the same temper you did but I was about half a foot taller and alittle bigger. That shit made me laugh. Yeah even in Tekken we always had to play each other, they wanted one of us to take the other out for some fucked up reason. I still remember being the first person to figure out how to defend your Bob, telling everyone about it and then watching them take the credit. I also remember some of the Oregon guys saying you ripped off one of their players when you never saw him play before and you came up with everything on your own. Admittedly though back then I was a big asshole and talked alot of shit. I just dont think anyone got except for you and a few others 99 percent of the time I was just fucking around. Everytime we played each other though people would stand back because they thought a joystick would go flying, that shit was funny. I still remember when you said I played kinda like OS Super Joe because I didnt do any fancy shit. I was stupid enough to play Jun as well.
Man, I’m lucky enough to have join in 2005. I remember pre-reg’ing for Evo2k5, and I was like “God damnit, I gotta sign up for another forum!” I lurked around the CvS2 forums just getting random strats for my chars, then I finally explored it and damn, this is my homepage on my PSP’s internet, and my cell phone’s internet! I wish I found this place earlier!
Ahh the nostalgia is strong in this thread. I remember my first post on SRK. It was the recipe to McDonalds secret sauce…don’t ask, I don’t know WTF I was thinking.
I definitely think that the old days of SRK were great, than again I lurked around for about a year before I became a member. I really don’t know what is in for this place down the road, but I just wanna thank this entire place for letting me vent and giving me a good laugh when I needed it.
They knew I worked in the arms room at the base and had 24 hour access and thought I might go crazy one day
They would take credit for some east coast hellsweep setups with Heihachi that I brought over. That shit truly pissed me off cause I remember distinctly showing people how it was done. All of a sudden I didn’t show them shit and it was never in their repotoire until after I sat down and pulled them off and they were like “whoa wtf was that?” I remember I got ragged on because of my defense which is a east coast thing. All of a sudden when I say fuck it after taking shit everyday and started to take on a west coast offense approach they start using it and it’s cool.
Yea that short dude Ray said I stole his Bob shit and all the Seattle guys were telling him that Will refused to look up any vids for T4 and learned all that shit on his own. Plus we hadn’t even played each other since Tekken Tag.
I think you ended up beating him to which cracked me up. IDK why but I played so much better against you then I did alot of other people. We had some classic fucking matches, I would go from fucking shit up to getting my JFLS everytime. Man those were some fun as matches even if the game did suck. I think you showed me some Anna shit the EC people used to and the Jin combos you showed me. My Anna after awhile actually got pretty decent.
I did beat him and got a perfect in one of the rounds. We played each other just about everyday that’s why. You got to see me develop stuff and just figured out a way to defend yourself.
I remember people disliking you and taking to Rudy alot. I could never fully convince them that you were cool to be around. Thing is I used to take shit for having you around and that pissed me off cause I never knew how to break it to you. You won’t even begin to understand the behind the door talks I had with the guys and they would basically put me in compromising situations saying it’s either him or us. They’d be like you’re always welocme but not him. That’s fucked up.
Part of that was my fault though, I was full of myself when I first got to Washington. I tried to make amends but no one wanted to hear it so what could I do. They really shouldnt have ever put you in that position though that just isnt right. The thing that pissed me off the most is they said I would never learn but when I tried to ask questions or ask what I was doing wrong all anyone said is I dont know. I think you told me at one time 90 percent of my problems with Tekken was just my confidence. To be honest even if I would have done everything perfect I was still treated like an outsider. IDK why I just do that to people. Yeah I will really never know how much pressure you were under and how shitty that must have felt getting told you basically need to choose between a guy you hung out with on basically a daily basis or them.
Fucking Kelomaniac…god damn I haven’t read that name in years…funny enough I think I remember his avatar, though.
Haha, remember when SRK used to regularly host new vids?
The vids there (usually courtesy of ShinJN) were BALLIN’. Seriously, James Chen vs Valle in CvS1, Duch vs Valle Strider/Doom vs Spiral/Sent in MvC2, all kinds of good shit. James Chen’s MvC2 combo vids, plus the A3 vids. Not to mention the super old school MvC2 combo vid (only the warganic ones, the first handfull of Mike Z ones and the Vidness ones are older).
I wish I’d saved some of those Apoc posts, too, them shits were like 4 pages long, but I always thought they were interesting.
And fucking Chikyuu winning B5 with fucking Raiden, cutting through all of the Nakoruru/Guiles/Balrogs etc. Wtf…
Kelomaniac was twice as funny in person. He would bring his wife to the arcades and make her sit there and watch him play marvel. And the whole time he’d be loud and talking shit all day, win or lose, didn’t matter who. You had to beat him down 4+ times in a row before he’d get pissed off enough to leave for a few. Still to this day one of the best SF trash talkers I’ve ever met.
I remember those old match vids. They’d post up the most recent golfland tourney matches, usually the finals or some good duc/valle ones. Scott A had a few where made people look silly with Iron Man. But the one I’ll always remember was Duc using Team Shoto on the homie MDN in a tourney. That one was posted up here for a while. I lost that one a while ago, but I know someone out there has it still.
B5 was some very good times. The San Diego RV was a way cheaper room than any hotel around there. I also made a guest appearance during the interview of Viscant for the tape/DVD (don’t remember). The biggest shock other than Chikyuu was Golden Nismor actually backing up the shit he’d been talking for months, and placing 5th in Marvel. There’d be some epic flame wars stirred up by him and Omega-Red Guru for how good they were supposed to be. Nismor could actually play, while ORG ended up being a scrub.
The SRK inception was in 1997 right? I registered in 2000 (I think), only to check FG threads…I picked up some strats for SST2T and never bothered to post. Then registered this nick in 2003 because I wanted to post chick pics in the Hot Girl thread (before they became the Hot black/asian/anglo girl threads, we only had a single thread for chick pics and it would always get closed for visible poontang or nipples). Been with GD since then. Also, I don’t want to bring bad memories back but Teardafur needs to be in the timeline (if you guys make one). Never met him in person but talked to him a lot on IM.
Am I right in thinking that Adam Warlock = RandomNigga? WTF happened - last I remembered was that he got banned and came back with the whole “Bring the ARPE”?? Some of those flame wars were best memories of 2002-2003.
also lol@ACT LIKE YOU KNOW
Too many good memories, SRK mellowed out but still whorthile.
SRK started in 2000 or late '99. MvC2 came out in summer of 2000, and SRK was around shortly before that. I’ve gotta start saving shit around here for real…
