Oh, why thank you. I should try, but I often times just don’t.
Repeat:
He DHCed from MT to AHVB?
EDIT: Never mind, he called out Cable’s AAA, did MT, then DHCed to Cable’s HVB (while he was in the air). I’m pretty sure you can do that.
No idea what that means, but it does sound familiar.
Read the first page or 2 of this topic and you should find out what the abbreviations are and I think frame killing is in there too.
Frame killing is like this
DHCs negate start up ( a DHC (delayed hyper combo) is when you do a Hyper Combo and then input the command of the next character on your team’s hyper combo and then the next character comes in and does his hyper combo)
So if you do something like magneto qcf+kk (temptest) and DHC into ironman’s proton cannon, then the proton cannon won’t have any start up and that is frame killing (you kill the start up frames).
Oh, I get it. Someone did this to me while at an arcade. How do you call in the next character? Do I just hit the assist buttons, or is a whole different combo all together?
to bring in the next character, you do their super. so if you have mag on point you do magnetic tempest super(Qcf+2K), you bring in Ironman by doing his super Proton cannon (Qcf+2P). That’s how you do a DHC (Delayed Hyper Combo)
What’s the best team to counter Storm/Cable/Sentinel???
Wait, so I do this:
qcf+2K wait a second or two then qcf+2P?
You input the second super whenever you feel that the first super has done enough damage or immediately after if you are tagging out.
Just make sure that you time it properly because if a super finishes then it won’t work and you’ll just do another super of the first character.
http://www.zachd.com/mvc2 - watch almost any random video there to see how it’s done.
Wait, still not clear on the button presses.
Do I just press qcf+2K for mags and then while his super is going press qcf+2P with magneto still out? If so, that sounds simple, but nobody has been clear enough on whether that is the process to do it or not. :xeye:
You pretty much got it. But I’ll try to explain in more detail.
Suppose you have Cable in and he’s low on health. You want to tag him out without risking the character that comes in. This is because when you switch characters manually (tagging by pressing low punch+low kick or medium punch+medium kick), the one coming in vulnerable to attack.
So instead of manually tagging out, you do Cable’s super by pressing QCF+2P (both punches). While he is doing the super, the opponent can’t do anything but block so that he does not get hit. After Cable’s super starts, this is when you do the same motion again: QCF+2P (both punches) or QCF+2K (both kicks), depending on which super you want. This pauses Cable’s super, brings in the next character–say Magneto, and then they both start doing their supers together. However, when Cable’s super finishes, he tags out and Magneto stays in and finishes his super. While Magneto is doing his super, the opponent still has to block so that he doesn’'t get hit. Therefore you tagged in Magneto without risking his being attacked.
Of course this is not just for tagging purposes. You can still do multiple supers for a lot of damage. You can also bring in the next super as soon as the first super starts or towards the end of the first super. Just keep in mind that the last super you did determines which character stays in.
You can usually DHC while the “blue screen” is still out and then it turns into a green screen when you dhc out and then during that super (the one you dhced into) you can still dhc out of that one making it a 3 level dhc)
Higher-Jin: What is a good team to counter Sent/Storm/Cable?
EDIT: And why is Team Scrub (Cable/Sent/CapCom) called Team Scrub???
Possibly because it’s so easy to use?
That’s what I thought initially… but then again there are so many teams that are easy to use. I thought it had some inside joke behind it or something.
Is it considered a bad team since it doesn’t have Magneto/Storm on it?
I think War Machine should be in second tier.
Not at all if played right it owns mag and storm the team is Top 3 easy…
Sounds good. How exactly do you counter Magneto/Storm with those characters? I find them to be a bit too slow when I’m getting rushed down. Maybe I just can’t handle the rush since I don’t know the strings/mixups. =(
I saw a vid of a guy using Cable’s gun and Sentinel’s droids to add pressure to Magneto. But once Magneto over came this, it was all rush down and infinite. CapCom didn’t stand a chance alone.
That’s why the other guy is always trying to snap back CapCom in :karate: (ESPECIALLY Magneto players). He cant do shit on point  :shake: (compared to what the top 4 can do)
When backed up by both Cable-B and Sentinel-Y, Commando becomes a pain in the ass to kill, if the Commando player can block well. If you’re too aggressive, the Cable assist will catch you and then that’s a free Captain sword. [usually full hits, too] Sentinel drones provide good cover while he builds meter, usually with fp XX fireball/ninja/mummy. On someone who’s relatively close, lp corridor + drones is a good way of making them hesitate, since it looks very difficult to get in [not so much in reality, though].
lk + drones, lk, fp xx fireball/mummy/ninja is the basic blockstring.
The whole point is to build meter and try to get his ass out, NOT to tag in randomly and hope you’re safe. People get their entire team wrecked because they panic when their commando gets snapped in. Learn how to play with him, and realize that sometimes he’ll get snapped in and fucked up, but also realize that if you learn how to use him, you can pull a win from that round.
BTW, if your team order is Commando/Cable/Sentinel, then you have to either counter Cable in and AHVB, or counter Sentinel in and HSF. Or tag. [Tagging in is not recommended]
However, if your team order is Commando/Sentinel/Cable, then it’s much easier. Then you can Captain sword, let the beam hit the opponent [blocked or not] and then DHC into HSF, and you’re generally ok.
