Good on Sakurai for deciding not to put in random non nintendo characters in the game willy nilly. The comment about ‘not putting in gimmicks’ after Brawl’s tripping seems amusing… Also don’t know why IGN thinks this game is going to be released next year. They only JUST started working on that game this year…I don’t care if they already got a crack team of experts over at Namco working on this game. There is next to no chance of this game coming out next year.

An aside…Had a customer come in and trade in Skyward Sword and I asked him how’d he like the game and he told me he played for a few hours and pulled out the sword then stopped playing because he was bored. This guy also says that he likes Zelda games. I died a little bit on the inside…

The game is confirmed the friendlist from the Console’s friendlist and while it is missing some features because of split development they focused on some other things to put the Wii U’s power to work with. This is also another guy who says Wii U is more powerful than the current systems…so pretty much expect someone within the week to give a whole different opinion later probably.

I can’t confirm any of this since we haven’t gotten any of this yet…though there is a picture of some boxes on the second page that is clearly in a GS. If it’s fake…textures and lighting on those boxes are pretty well done. We might have gotten them in today.

Yeah…I can confirm that marketing materials are now starting to come in. We got ours today. I would like to think that means we can expect something soon.

People are asking whether or not the Black Wii U will be available at launch. I would have thought this would be a no brainer thing since it is in the marketing material but apperently Nintendo doesn’t even want to confirm that DESPITE that fact.

People planning to get a Wii U and want a kart racer may want to keep an eye on Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed
It’s going to be one of those games that you can also bring down to the pad and while the stuff that the pad will show while you’re racing is for the most part superficial I do like the idea that when you fire something you can actually watch the item as it travels towards its target. Of course you won’t really want to be staring at the pad while you’re driving on the screen though.

K…I don’t know what’s going on but somebody’s fuckin up. Last Story lost it’s street date and the latest it should have been in was Today but it didn’t show up. I"m ready to spend my money on this game and someone is preventing that from happening. >(
I was told it would be available Friday in the evening.
Oh yeah, and besides that, when I went to pick it up there was this girl at the counter. She was acting excited that I was picking up The Last Story. She started saying the soundtrack is amazing, that it’s such an amazing game, blah blah blah.
She’s looking for my copy in the computer and asks me, “So what system are you picking it up for?”
No offense to you Sonic, but Gamestop seems to just not give a fuck about having employees that know shit about their industry.
No offense taken. I’ve mentioned before that GS cares more about you being able to sell first then everything else second. GS believes that as long as you can sell nothing else matters when in my personal opinion it should be mixture of both and being able to leave your opinions on things at the door and staying objective unless the situation calls for it (I.E. Customer picks up Ninja Bread Man and upon me seeing him pick it up I immediately tell him ‘PUT IT BACK!’). Having a passion for the industry would do wonders for helping sell stuff… I kept up with game industry WAAAAAYY before I even started. At the same time though if a customer comes in who is knowledgeable in the game industry stuff and you just happen to know a bit more then they end up getting offended when you tell them they’re wrong on something. I had a customer come in and claim that there existed an Assassin’s Creed II GOTY edition and I had to tell him no it didn’t exist because IIRC CoD mostly won GOTY during that time period and he got pissed and gave me a negative review saying something along the lines of ‘just cause I work at GS doesn’t mean I know everything’ deal. I wasn’t even really trying to bust the guys balls about it I was just telling him he was wrong and this was why.
Also to play devil’s advocate to that girl…she’s probably just gotten in the habit of saying ‘what system are you picking it up for?’ when it comes to reserves without thinking since so many titles are multiplatform.
I mean if you ever want to ask questions about something GS related or why GS does certain things in a certain manner I can try to answer them the best I can…people do that all the time lol.
I may have went on a rambling tangent…sorry. In any case…I really hope that game is in tomorrow…

Last Story finally made it to my store and I bought it and everything…then fucking forgot it in the backroom like a dumbass lol. I’m not going to be able to play it for awhile anyway since I still haven’t finished Xenoblade Chronicles. Slowly but surely working on that.
:lol: You took home your chili dogs and not The Last Story. But yeah I saw that lost street date thing. Probably done on purpose to get more people talking about it/buying it. Got mine friday too. For $50 and what you get it’s a freakin steal with that soundtrack disk. Even without that it’s a steal.
But seriously WHY is nintendo being such a ass with the Wii U’s release date. I don’t think any game company EVER has done this for a new system. We know it’s coming before xmas. But we’re within 4 months away and STILL no idea. And didn’t they say they wanted to make sure everyone could get a Wii U at launch and no shortage this time?
Ah yes, it’s interesting how touchy gamers are. I remember a friend of mine being upset when I denied his claim that Nintendo was making a Mario game for Xbox. He was almost offended and implied I think I know everything about gaming. So I bet this type of gamer comes in often to GS.
In the example of the girl, I’d be that very same touchy gamer haha.

They’re Nintendo…I could easily leave it at that lol. There are rumors going around that they’re having some problem manufacturing the things. If it’s true or even if it’s not true I’d like to think it’s because they want to make sure they get the launch correct either way. Once they put that date out there they probably want to stick to it come rain or shine. They aren’t going to miss the holiday season…that wouldn’t be good for business so the latest it would come out would be early December. I’m expecting a Nov. release personally even if there are rumors going around as early as October. Keeping things close to their chest of course always have pros and cons but it also keeps the competition from watching what they are doing. If they were to release the date on Sept and it was Nov. that’d give Microsoft and Sony 2 months to decide whatever it is they want to try to do mess with their launch. And if it’s in Nov. it’d also have to make them decide do they want to drop the price that close to the holiday season and miss out on some potential profit? and that’s even if they consider the Wii U a threat to their current cash flow. Of course this is me thinking with my business cap on and for all we know Nintendo could suddenly be like ‘SURPRISE…the system comes out next week!’
The Last Story’s case surprised the hell out me when I first saw it. I was not expecting it to look THAT nice. Me and my boss had the only copy not reserved on the counter and we were looking at each other and looking at the case going ‘…Do…do we gut it?’
