I also tossed Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor’s Edge on the list of choices of things for Christmas so I may also end up with that as well. I was also out Christmas shopping today and came across some Turtle Beach headsets that are $10 more than than the NLA one’s at work…I think they’re N11’s? checks Yeah…the N11’s. She bought them for me and I can’t open them till Christmas so once I get a chance to try them out I’ll give a verdict on them.

A bunch of family members come together. Gamers, but not skilled. So I pop on Mario U for the first time to see what’s up. Four people at bat, with me on the Gamepad. They’re smacking into each other and just generally stumbling through the first level. Then I figure out the Boost Mode and how it works. Suddenly I’m saving their asses, making pathways, warding off enemies and just making their experience more enjoyable. They’re thanking me and we’re all laughing our asses of at the close saves and accidental deaths I inflicted.
Mario U is some serious shit. It may not be as good as Mario 64 or Mario Galaxy in single player, but multiplayer it is quite possibly the most amazing gaming experience I’ve ever had. Even non-gaming family were getting into it.
Thank you Nintendo, you innovative bastards.
That is why I love the nsmb line of games. The multiplayer aspect just allows me to have fun with my girl or family members and no one is getting too serious, just enjoying each others company.
Yep, I had a similar experience with my brother and some friends. Good times. Nintendo Land is also really fun with multiple players.

scratches head for a moment Are you talking about the Wii remote ‘condoms’? As far as I know they only come in clear and black. For the White, Pink, and Blue Wii Remote Plus’ you get the clear coverings and the lack one for the Black Wii Remote Plus. Generally as far as I’m aware Nintendo doesn’t sell the coverings but I believe there was at one point that if you called them they’d send you a free one…don’t know if that still holds true now though.

Yeah I got both NG3: RE and I also got TTT2: Wii U edition. =D Haven’t had a chance to open them up and play them though since most of my playing time was with the fam.
Meh…considering the fact that wii U has been pretty much getting free DLC content for this game since Day 1 and at the start this game is supposedly better than the original…I’ll probably be satisfied with this game personally. I’m sure they could continue to improve the game here and there like with frame rate and stuff by that could also be fixed in patches. If Sigma 3 is true I’m pretty much expecting it to be the complete RE with mostly just that…some framerate fixes. I’d feel if they did anymore with NG3 as it is then they’re trying to pull milk from an already dried cow…I think their time would probably be better spent on trying to not fuck up NG4.
I played a bunch of games with my family for christmas and had a blast. I was watching my 2 younger cousins playing NSMBU by themselves and I started a new file for them. They did slightly ok for the first stage and then were having a hell of a time on the 2nd stage. I wanted them to continue to play but I wanted to help…soooo I picked up the Pad and helped them get around as best as I could. Later on when more of my fam came in, I gave the pad to one of my lil cousins while everyone else tried to make it through the stages. When my bigger cuz asked for her to give us some platforms to help us…she did it ALL OVER THE PLACE. Kinda funny actually, especially when you’re trying to simply run around and you’re running into a platform that was not there to begin with. We also played NIntendoland (Luigi’s ghost mansion and Mario Chase) with 5 people and we played 4 player Sonic Racing Transformed. For some odd reason when I tried to sink up a 4th Wiimote to my Wii U for Sonic Racing Transformed it was just like ‘NOPE’. It was weird as all hell. 4 player SRT played smoothly with 1 pad, 1 Wii U Pro, and 2 Wiimote setups. It looked like the framerate took some small dips here and there but it was all good. I heard SRT on the Wii U crashes the most when 5 were in play so I wanted to give it a shot and see what happens but couldn’t do it. I did experience a hard lock up on my Wii U in the process of trying to explain the system to people. You hear that Nintendo? I tried to talk to people about your system and it did a hard lock up. Granted…it’s nowhere near as bad as RROD or my discs suddenly not being able to be read since I can simply unplug it and start fresh but even if this is only the 2nd time that this has happened…it’s still not cool. I’m sure they are going to continue to stabalize the OS in the future…they just need to hurry it up.

Almost forgot SRT gave me an Christmas gift and unlocked Alex Kidd…at least I"m sure that’s what it was since I only had a second to check what that notice was that popped up when I put the game in before one of my little cousins hit the button. I saw Alex Kidd was unlocked afterwards.
Edit 2: sifted through Miiverse and yeah…you get Alex Kidd as a Christmas gift.
Edit 3: Opened up TTT2 and one of the first things I looked for was the online pass…and there wasn’t one to be found. =D I’m sure that won’t stay that way for long though.
People on Gaf pointed out something that I was not aware of…You can actually hit cancel on the system that big system update for the Wii U and it’ll download in the background while you’re playing your games.

I’m going to be honest here…I don’t think I’m quite qualified to give impressions on this game since this is my first NG game. I’ve watched tons of videos on the series and watched friends play it but this is the first one that I’ve sat down and owned and played. I’ve been interested in the series but just never jumped in. I played for a couple of hours today and I feel I have much to learn (GOD DAMN DOGS!). I gotta get used to the way the system works since I’m far mor familiar with God of War and DMC style of games. Having to actually commit to doing moves without having an easy timed escape option is going to take some doing. So far during my couple of hours of play I did experience some slow down as I was lopping off arms, heads and legs but it hasn’t been too bad and it was playing it while the game was dling the update in the background so I don’t know if they’ve done any improvements in comparison or not yet. That’s really the only thing I can see as a negative so far.
