The Official Unpopular Food Opinions Thread

I wonder if you can deep fry Cheerios.

You can deep fry beer nigga. You can deep fry anything.

Dumbass autocorrect smh. Drop fry has a nice ring to it though lol.

As a resident of TX, I will tell you that you can deep fry anything.

McDonalds the GOAT.

Spicy food is the worst. I don’t understand the point of making you food so spice hot that you can’t taste anything for the next 3 days and tears up your asshole on the way out.

Fucking. Stupid.

BBQ food is for poor people… don’t even think about selling me a plate

I totally agree, @Shin_Jr What foods do you eat?

Spicy food is the last taste bud to go as a smoker, so in order to taste flavour, hot sauce is required.

I hate people who BBQ stupid nonsense on grills. Like don’t BBQ one chicken breast.

When i get to that point I’ll just die. Fuck Spicy food.

That was fair. But hey, it actually decent in small doses in bbq sauce as an ingredient. Hm…I wonder if black olives would actually be good in bbq sauce as an ingredient…
Shit is mad mooch standalone but maybe that would be bearable in somethin else. Kinda like boiled Egg Yolk is.

Barbecue. poor people food?Make me laugh some more fella. Burger meat on a grill or stove>mcdonalds, whataburger is good though.
Top ramen’s a different story. Shit fills you up though. But If I had to choose a “saving” meal it’d be that chef boyardi shit in a can over ramen 24/7.

Instant ramen is really more of a base for cheat sheet ramen meals. I use left over meats + vegetables + and those swirly things (called narutos, don’t call PA). I usually take the spice packets from Maruchan packages (picante flavore all day) and horde them into cupboard. Also store the dry noodle bricks in containers, just in case.

The only time you eat instant ramen by itself is when you’re in college, and you cannot afford anything else.

You and my dad would get along, he can’t stand spicy food. Though his love of sour kraut is something I can’t get into, it ruins anything it touches.

Hahaha right on.

Sour Kraut is fucking disgusting tho, I hated preparing it when I worked at the resturant so we would probably get along to! It does ruin everything it touches. It even smells fucking awful.

Instant ramen by itself shouldn’t be a meal even in college. Red beans, eggs, luncheon meat etc but damn ramen?Sometimes some soup is good for the body but there’s other stuff.

That’s just me though man, Redbeans and rice over ramen most of the time. And gumbo. Gumbo always turns out good too. However them things are pretty damn cheap, 36 bags of that maruchan for 15 bucks.amazing.Then there’s regular junk like hot chips, cheetos and shit with 30 bags for 20$.

i never have any idea wtf to add to ramen, besides more ramen.

is this really an unpopular opinion? fuckin love tapatio. been living down under all year so the mexican food sucks but when i finally saw the aussie equivalent of chipotle have tapatio on the tables i was in heaven. the burrito still sucked but tapatio makes everything better.

never heard of either, want both now…

All you fools that hate on fish have obviously never tasted fermented herring surströmming. That shit is godlike :dizzy:

It sounds you just hate people being idiots and having some sort of weird pride for withstanding pain.

I love spicy food that I can handle, but yeah I don’t eat it specifically to burn my mouth, and I don’t think most people do. Heck, most cuisine that isn’t just fucking AMERICUH actually uses spice pretty smartly and combines it with other ingredients that actually compliment spice, rather than only being hot sauce.

Take Thai curry for example, generally their curries are fairly spicy but they make them with coconut milk, which helps balance it out. Granted, some of them are still really spicy but that’s a culture that’s just more used to spice.

Additionally there’s like different kinds of spice that aren’t just burn your mouth.

Like, are you sure you really hate spicy foods and just haven’t had some that you’ve liked yet?

The more food I try the more I realize the best way to talk about any food I haven’t liked yet is “I haven’t like any version of it I’ve had so far” because it’s entirely possible that my opinion will change if I keep trying different variations.

Heck, sometimes food actually requires being acclimated to it. I used to think kimchi was weird/gross, and now I know that stuff is AMAZING. Not only does it taste good, not only is it a crazy good palette cleanser, not only is it freakin awesome with mexican food, it’s even freaking super healthy for you.

I like a mild heat spice, thats fine but like…i bought some salsa dip from the mexican store across the street and the gal there said it was a mild heat. I cant eait it, its too fuckin hot, i cant even taste the chips when i dip em in, its horrible. If that is her idea of mild then count me out.

Really spicy stuff also fucks me up, a lot of spicy foods makes my lips crack, and buffalo sauce fucks me up on the way out. Not good times.

So yea i hate people with stupid pride for something dumb like this, buts its more then that. I grew up in southern AZ and have tried tons of different spicy hot dishes and none of them are worth that pain. Lots of wonderful looking food that you cant taste cuz its hot as fuck. Stooooooopid.

Curry isnt too bad but even that is a case by case thing, some of that food is fucking fire. Indian food is the same deal to me. Its really good when they zrent recreating Mt Saint Hellens in your damn mouth.
