The saddest part is that they never released the background music in this promo. Was definitely my favorite piece.
To this day, I still blast Black Hole Megamix.
âCoincidence? No, itâs more than that - this is fate!â
How did I go a week and not notice all this happening??
How about, we move all of ASâ unfunny comedy shows to TBS, and Cartoon Network can keep Toonami and Adult Swimâs anime.
wth, i posted that video in the last page. quit copying me.
continue being depressed, because it was exclusively made for Toonami by one of their employees. Therefore, it will never get released to general public.

LMAO, all Iâm thinking about while hearing that promo is Mushroom Samba.
What about Steve Brule?
Actually, Toonami did have their own channel for a while (in the UK, while I was over there). It was alright, but it started getting filled with rather stupid stuff. Eventually, they did away with the Toonami programming and it became what we know as âBoomerangâ (in the US).
Donât get me wrong, I love Toonami. Adult Swim has tried, many times, to make sure that their Saturday night (well, Sunday morning) anime is filled with some good stuff. They introduced me to Kekkaishi and Durarara!! ⌠each of which are pretty damn good, in my opinion (though, Kekkaishi sucked once I read the manga - but, thatâs all anime). It wouldnât take much for them to bring Toonami back. Itâs just that it would most likely end up being Saturday-night only (just like the anime nights).
Family Guy and American Dad need to get the fuck off of Adult Swim. King of the Hill was good, but theyâve re-aired all of the episodes at least seventeen times in the past year. But, as far as I know, CN has already agreed to start showing âThe Cleveland Showâ as well - so thatâs another shitty show weâre going to have to put up with. BlaaaaaahâŚ
Even more blatantly obvious is the frequency with which TV networks will choose stuff from out of their asses over a simple checking of what the people who actually do write or otherwise voice their desires have requested. This is why shows like Tim and Eric have been on TV. :wtf:

I live in Canada so I never got this.
Whatâs so great about Toonami? Whatâs the point of watching anime in English?
Any weeaboo with pride never settles for less than the original Japanese.
You can hate Family Guy, sure. You can hate The Cleveland Show, cool. Hating on American Dad though? Hell Nah!
I wonât lie though I used to hate on American Dad. Itâs easily the best of the three IMO (Roger is tops). Family Guy fell off hardcore and I could never get into Cleveland.
The only live-action AS show I really like is Delocated. The others range from tolerable to terrible.
They definitely need a new rotation of anime now. Besides Bleach everything else is in repeat mode. Big-O (as much as I like it), Inuyasha, and some others have been there for a long ass time.
I honestly donât understand why CN doesnât just axe Adult Swimâs Saturday block and retool the old Saturday Toonami block to be a bit longer than it originally was. Air your action cartoons and shounen-esque animu dubs during the first three fourths of the block, and air the âmatureâ content after 10PM (be it a relatively uncut series, throw back dubs like Tenchi or Gundam W, or the occasional film. Hell, why not throw some Johnny Bravo in there? Thereâs always something that doesnât belong in CNâs blocksâŚ)
Getting a weekly Toonami will probably not happen. Anime licensing was a lot easier and a lot cheaper. People probably arenât as willing to spend money / bother fans by cutting content like they used to so it can get aired on CN either. Reviving an almost daily programming block that got canned due to low ratings is a bit too risky for CN too.
random note, Gundam Unicorn is hard to air. Everything released is dubbed but the running times are non-standard, there are only four episodes to air to begin with (as of today anyway), and of course Bandai Entertainment.
Toonami opened the floodgates for anime to really hit the U.S. airwaves. Before then, at least for me, you had the choice of watching the Saban/Ocean Dub era of DBZ, Samurai Pizza Cats, Ronin Warriors, and Sailor moon. Then if you were fortunate, Sci-Fi channel started showing anime big time though it was more so the anime movies/OVAâs. They did at one point show the 80âs Gigantor tv series, the rest of the Ronin Warriors series, and the later Transformers series post-Unicron movie.
Once Toonami hit, we got all the seasons of Sailor Moon, Funimation had picked up the DBZ license so we finally got to see all of the episodes post-Ginyu Force, we got a TONS of Gundam series( still confused why we never got Zeta Gundam and Gundam ZZ), YuYu Hakusho, etc⌠and even original series like Megas XLR and IGPX.
And seriously, youâre gonna question people on watching dubbed anime? Who gives a shit.
I can easily understand why someone would only want to watch the original undubbed, but I prefer to watch it in english.
I honestly prefer subs 99% of the time, however, that doesnât mean that I donât have respect for a good dub.
Oh yeah, Megas XLR. That was canceled too. Fuck, I thought I could forget.
Was that on toonami? Still that show was my shit.
Low rating were entirely CNâs fault. They were actively sabotaging the block in last few years. The move to Saturday, cancelling shows with high critical claim (Megas XRL, JLU), cutting the blocking airtime by half, and shameless milking of Naruto at the end of itâs run.
good god, please donât let this discussion regress into a useless sub vs dub debate.
the matter is subjective. some people like to watch their shit with new voices actors that fits their language, and some people like to watch it with the original language and subtitles; itâs just a matter of preference.
that being said, there are some shows in which the dub is better than the original VAâ;s w/ subs (Cowboy Bebop); and vice versa. but the latter seems more prominent, though. one thing to take into account too is that there are multiple dubs from different languages, e.g. the english dub of âxâ animu might suck, but the hungarian dub is much better than the original VAâs.
