The Official Toonami Thread: Fight tha powa!

 If Dexter is such a genius, why does he always install THAT button when he know that not only will DeeDee infiltrate his lab, but she will always, without fail, fina and push…THAT button?

This used to be my shit every saturday. The whole block, with my bowl of honey nut cheerios. Oh, the memories…

My parents never had cable tv, but I did remember watching Toonami/ Adult Swim at Hotels and friends every so often. It would of been my jam since back then I was into anime but had to resort o fan sub vhs tapes and over priced dvds. I’d watch the shit out of this now, and drink a ton of soda and eat little debbie food snacks and then take a commercial break monster dump. I would love me some Gundam 0083 with some Trigun or Bebop.

as cool as this runback was…i think toonami is best left in the past. it came around at a good time and put a lot of anime on the map, and in many ways contributed to the anime boom in the western world. but the truth is everything is on the net now, and most of the shows it had licensed are, while good, not really in the mix anymore obviously.

tips his glass to tom*

RIP toonami…

another good thing that can come from toonami IMO…

I loved that show, but never saw how it ended. I would like to see that happen.

So good!

I would love to see Gundam make some sort of comeback in America just so I can get a 360 version of Extreme VS.

Fuck Tom, make the Toonami host Moltar again and Ill buy a cable package

I try to front. I act like I didn’t spend my afternoons after school glued to Cartoon Network for Toonami.

I try to front. But I remember what lunch time and gym chats were all about.

I TRY to front. I know good and well that Toonami introduced me to stuff I either never heard of or only caught glimpses of.

I TRIED to front. Now I’m in this thread getting hyped for the return of Toonami.

This is what toonami was about, it ruled our lives, and as some had moved on to other things, some had looked for other places to fill the void. Now this return was made at just the right time, as people were starting to forget. We’ve started to come back together and we all want to watch.

With the state of anime, I believe the best possible mix would be classics and modern hits. Many excellent shows could gladly fit into the once excellent rotation toonami and [as] had.

How many parents go back and watch boomerang for the classic cartoons they saw as children? We’re going and doing the same, but were looking to our childhood, to our Toonami.

Moltar is that dude.

Moltar should stay in Coast to Coast. He doesn’t have TOM’s swag

If Moltar was voiced by Steven Blum…I’d agree with you.

Join us brother. Cast aside those feelings that do not speak of your true desires. Join us as we raise our hands to the heavens in the hopes to once again reclaim the goodness that did once bless the airwaves. With luck and hope, our eyes may once again hold greatness.

In further news, I have seen that Cartoon Planet has made it back to the 7PM timeslot on CN. I believe that our prayers have been heard, and they are being answered in our favor.

I don’t think Toonami is going to make a full fledged return, in which it will have multiple airtimes during the day, e.g. after-school hours, Saturday nights, early mornings, etc.

At the very most, I think Toonami will make a return as a repackaging for Adult Swim’s action block. As the years go on, and Turner acquires more anime and/or action cartoons, then we will probably see Toonami get a lot of airtime like it used to during 2001-2002.

Just give toonami its own channel. I would have thought this would be blatantly obvious by now

I love you, too. Nostalgia brings us all closer together. It’s like…glue for humans.

Wow man. I remember going over my aunt’s house every Saturday and chilling with my cousins. We were playing video games, eating Dominos pizza and of course watching Toonami all night. Mmm…good times.

This is fan-made.
