I can’t say I agree on zoids. I think it started slow, but began to pick up. Medabots hooked me from the start, but I didn’t get to see much of it. Cardcaptors, I’m sorry to say, I never had the pleasure of viewing on TV. Maybe, if Toonami rises again, I may yet be able to view it on screen without the aid of computers or DVDs. My childhood. I await your return of greatness.
EDIT: @ mugenlove100: Yes, I do remember the greatness of reboot. I would welcome it back to the screen with arms wide open.
Zoids:New Century (the one with Bit and was more like a sport/game) aired on Toonami first and it was pretty fun to watch. The action scenes were all cg and had pretty good action.
Zoids: Chaotic Century wasn’t good. It aired after new century even though it was made before, but you can see the difference in quality. When they fought, it seemed pretty stuff, and not doing as much awesome or energetic stuff seen in New Century. The second season made it look better, but Vaan (I think that’s his name) had a new design, and it was a weird character design where he basically exposed his abs and navel but kept his normal voice that he kept when he was a kid. I didn’t catch all of chaotic century, but new century was good enough that I watched every episode.
I liked Chaotic Century. I remember as a kid I had to wake up at 5:00am on weekdays just to see it before it started airing on Toonami. Also remember a Digimon series that came on after it that was on some power rangers shit.
OMG. this was one for all the generations. Oldschool and new school slappin fists together, raising mugs high, and celebrating. Toonami. I love ya. Bro dap.
Man, what sucks is that I didn’t get a chance to see any of this go down. Never thought I’d actually regret not having a TV in my dorm room. Also, I miss me some Ronin Warriors.
Saturday night made me absolutely happy. Felt like I was 9 again. The only thing that would’ve topped it all off was an episode of Sailor Moon, preferably the climax of the S series, but that would’ve never happened.
And I’m still hoping Funi will put on Panty and Stocking on Adult Swim. The show was made for it and is the ultimate crossover title from the American cartoons.
