The Official Toonami Thread: Fight tha powa!

Deadman Wonderland’s anime feels… incomplete.

E7 is a very good pickup. I’m not crazy about it or anything, but I remember it being very decent.

Yeah, the Claymore manga goes WAY further than where the anime ends. Just like, well, Deadman Wonderland.

I hope to hell one day they try to cover the manga of claymore in an anime. It was waaay too good to just end like it did.

I honestly would have thought Eureka 7 would be too slow paced for Toonami/Adult Swim. Oh well, I guess with the number of episodes it has, they don’t have to worry too much about it ending quick like Deadman or most of the recent anime that comes out and stops at 12 or 13. They better be using it to replace Cowboy Bebop or GiTS, because FMA: Brotherhood is still watchable in its reruns.

Unless they’re changing the times up on the bottom half, no it seems to be getting rid of FMA:B which makes absolutely no sense to me either.

Snce I’m apparently the only REAL perv here, I’ll say it.

Spoiler

Shiro’s butt :wow: In all the psychosis going down in that show, a little bit of cheesecake makes the bitter main course of getting your ass exterminated go down a little easier.

[details=Spoiler]You are a perv, she’s like 14-15 dude (she’s around Ganta’s age obviously).

Man, leave the pedo work to Million[/details]

*Deadman ended on quite a meh note but it was a entertaining ride none the less. Samurai 7 is a good fit for toonami and it has good action and characters but unfortunately it doesn’t pull in viewers nor have very much staying power despite it’s quality. Eureka 7 is a good show but it takes quite a few episodes to hit it’s stride. The first 12 episodes or so if I remember correctly are particularly dull, annoying and uniteresting but after that initial time of introducing you to the characters, the state of affairs etc it picks up quite a bit. *

*I wish they were showing something that I haven’t already seen. Something old like Kino’s Journey or Le Chevalier D’Eon. *

So far, we only have two 7’s out of three for the lucky sevens; E7 and Sam7.

What is the third one?

Could it be DBZ? There are 7 Dragon balls after all.

Not bad choices for the new shows, but I was hoping we would get a more mature series as a replacement to DMWL. Samurai 7 is mature in the sense that there’s lots of frowning and serious dialogue, for sure, but I would love to see another show with a really oppressive, dark, gritty, feel. Maybe Texhnolyze, Ergo Proxy, or Darker Than Black.

I feel like the second half of Casshern Sins (which starts this week) is way better than the first half. It becomes less and less episodic.

I think Darker than Black would be the best of those to show (though I haven’t watched Texhnolyze yet), since it has a lot of action and some humor too (whereas ergo proxy is more about making you think and only a handful of actual fight scenes). But then they may show the 2nd season which I do my best to say is non canon :frowning:

how the fuck is DtB in any way mature?

Im still madd I got ‘Berserk’d’ by Toonami, they really must have been HELLA poor to put that kind of stunt.

Because it has adults talking and not high school girls. Except for the 2nd season with whats her face who made me sick to my stomach and was only good for getting kicked around. I could watch a show that was just her getting beat up and pissed on all day.

So you were looking too, right?

Shiro=Ace Man

Ganta not putting two and two together shows how stupid he is.

Too busy looking at Karako homie if I was looking at any woman and not the path of destruction otherwise.

And Ganta isn’t that terribly stupid. It’s easy for us to see the correlation between the two because we have all the info. But right now, Ganta thinks the Red Man is…well, a man. On top of that, Shiro’s personality and actions are completely different of that of the Wretched Egg (for a good reason).

He could figure it out quite easily if Yoh actually decided to tell him about Shiro blowing everyone away. But he decided to tell no one and…yeah…

Toonami generally tends to only show one season of newly acquired shows, so there’s something.

Okay, to be fair, DtB isn’t anywhere near as ‘heavy’ as the other animes named, but I feel it would have made a good enough replacement for Deadman Wonderland. And I know Toonami likes serious-ish anime, but I can’t see Toonami putting out anything that’s even more pessimistic than DMWL or Casshern (which are both about not giving up even in terrible situations), which would make DtB a much more likely contender than the post-apocalyptic show that depicts a toddler dying in the first episode.

For the record, right before he killed the Uber Monk, he did say something along the lines of “Its time for you to let me be Ace-Man this time” to Shiro.
