The Official Toonami Thread: Fight tha powa!

Why should Casshern get the Guile theme when he allowed himself to get his ass smacked around?

Ganta deserves the Guile theme to go with each fight he wins.

His fights are all filled with exposition, and by the time we get to the climax, it doesn’t last that long. At least Casshern gets a streamlined amount of asskickery around. No point in putting Guile theme if it lasts for like 20 seconds.

While it’s (currently) far from one of my favorite anime, I’ll admit that I really do love how they show the post apocalyptic world. The only thing I could hope for is to show urban destruction and that’s not even required (as a barren wasteland can basically imply that even the cities were completely wiped out).

my toonami recap for tonight:

bleach: filler filler filler
deadman: she’s crazy . . . really crazy. i got more sympathy for the guy from the previous episode. also this show’s insanity really convinced me that toonami can pull off running the hellsing ovas.
casshern: some more backstory, but not enough. cool fight scenes though.
fma: repeat of a pretty neat episode.
gits: batou is always cool.
cowboy bebop: this episode seems to be a fan favorite of the whole series for good reason. also is peacock in skullgirls a reference to mad pierrot? (skullgirls has tons of references, i sorta guessed this was one of them)

1920’s/30’s/40’s era cartoons are the inspiration for Peacock.

Am i the only one who gets a very nostalgic feeling when watching shows like bleach, deadman, casshern, COWBOY BEBOP late at night by myself?? Especially Cowboy Bebop, I remember watching the show in like 03 when i was 6 not really knowing what it was about but I liked it because of the action scenes. I may sound weird for posting this but Cowboy Bebop is my fav anime because of the originality and the simplicity of the anime. That anime was ahead of its time and to Zazzarius who posted above me, That episode is one of my fav too besides the one where he battles at the church and fakes his death. But yea man its like you appreciate shows like this so much more when you’re just watching it by yourself late at night for some reason. Btw Spike Spiegel’s a beast. I’ve watched the whole series at least 10 times since 07 and everytime i watch out I appreciate it more. I wish i could erase my memory of cowboy bebop and watch it as my first time again to get the full awesomeness of the anime. Btw I teared up at the end of the last episode AND NO SPIKE SPIEGEL DIDN’T DIE!!!

Yes he did. To say he didn’t betrays the point of the show and shows you didn’t get it.

for her mannerisms, yes, but the whole top hat, living superweapon back story, loads of guns and creepy teeth . . . it just sorta fits in my mind

like how slayer in guilty gear is based on alberto sort of thing

Watching the re-run of DW because you gotta experience batshitinsaneawesomedialougeyougonnagetraped hummingbird twice.

Time we had a talk about the facts of life.

I did the same. I had to watch the madness again.

Toonami was on point last night. Watching that crazy ass bitch blow up the censor’s scouters was hilarious and that fight sequence in Casshern was awesome. Add to that Tom coming out and reassuring the vocal minority that stuff is coming down the pipe.

Why is this song so FUCKING AMAZING!?!?

its like the show, intense, smooth, flowing, kind of sad, a little dramatic, and awesome.

Once again I missed the first showing and had to wait on the 2 am repeat. That’s really, really annoying when you cannot see the regular broadcast of a particular show— for the past 3 weeks now, I’m instantly in dream-land right as Deadman Wonderland comes on…and then of course I wake up just in time to hear Tom say “THAT’S IT FOR DEADMAN’S WONDERLAND… CASSHERN SINS IS NEXT…” This is even despite taking a nap earlier in the night to try and re-charge my power-level.

Anyway, that scene with the near accidental nudity from that girl = TOO HOT. Holy shit it’s like they wanted to appeal specifically to that sub-fetish I have (a textbook case of “the ENF Scene”, basically; “embarrassed nude female”…one of the various subsets/facets of voyeurism.)…everything about that scene was perfect… if it went on a bit longer and perhaps with a brief flash, it might’ve gone into the realm of being legitimate jerkin material, but that’s just me.

This is like the 3rd time someone has posted this song in the thread lol

SPECULATION TIME:

Outlaw Star has left MNet (A K-pop channel that granted it some airtime). FLCL is coming this August, and will seem like a placeholder for something new. Is it possible that Outlaw will be coming to Toonami? Whether the possibilities are slim or huge, I’m fucking hyped.

I know, I posted it before.

Its that awesome.

The creator has not decided if he died or not so all our speculations are nonsense. LOL reminds me when Code Geass R2 ended and every fan of the show were coming up with “logical” arguments on Lelouch actually dying or not.

It’s not that he hasn’t decided but that he’s smart enough not to confirm the glaringly obvious. When people ask him he shrugs his shoulders as if to say “Figure it out on your own.”

It’s about using your brain and not having shit spelled out for you.

He fell over a bloody mess and hasn’t been shown alive since so I’m going with dead.

The series is over, he got mortally wounded, if he wasn’t dead those goons would have checked anyways and when they found out no amount of space judo could have saved him, it adds to the deepness of the show.

His woman was dead, he finished his business and was ready to die, he didn’t have any reason to stay alive so he didn’t give a fuck, hence the cocky smirk and the “bang!”.

Spike was clever, if he wanted to get out of there alive he could have easily snuck out.
