The Official Tekkaman Blade Q&A Thread

Do you all feel that the falchion crossups would become just a gimmick soon? Cause people are learning how to block it now, and I’m hearing mixed things on how the falchion crossups with an assist make it unblockable or something.

IPolymar and Roll are becoming headaches to fight. Also, what assist can really help out T.Blade? I’m currently using Ryu, but I see Keits using Chun. So, what are some of his best assists?

That’s only because people keep spamming it like it’s the best thing in the world. The move is pretty unsafe if you don’t cover it with assist or baroque, and it gives time for people to react to it much like blocking an overhead. Also if they react really fast or anticipate it, they can throw you out of it or even do a super, so even assist/baroque aren’t perfect solutions. It’s one of those moves that are best used occasionally. Condition your opponent to expect other things in the same situations and then occasionally mix it up with a falchion. They’ll find it much harder to counter when used that way.

Is it possible to extend this instead of the j.B to just restart an aerial rave? That holding true what stops this from being an infinite?

ive found out that the best time to use falchion is when an opponent jumps in with an aerial because you teleport behind them and the falchion strikes them, and if they call their assist to help gaurd them low while they jump in with their aerial their assist most likely takes the falchion damage too.

I’d like to know the general points on fighting giants, but particularly want to know about the matchups for Tekkaman Blade. I’m completely clueless in fighting them.

Help.

#1 Rule for fighting giants with Blade: spam B & C version Baselard in every possible angle!

Seriously, I perfected a Gold Lightan like that online, he was pretty helpless every time he moved. Plus, the throw from the Baselard kicks them far away so they can’t just get up and spam jabs.

Much obliged. Is there anything else I should be aware of?

Zero, Ken, Yatter 1 & 2, and basically every fast character in the game. Those take some setting up until you control the flow of the match.

You can go to town with any slow characters like Saki, Soki, Frank, and Ryu. Just don’t let Ryu combo you because his combos are way too easy to link into super lol

I was mainly referring to anything else I should know about giants.

Though that’s still helpful to know all the same.

If you see PTX backing up, he’ll likely use his Shoulder tackle, which makes projectiles useless on him until its over, if you see that, simply block and Falchion him (or even B or C Baselard) once the SA frames of the move is over.

Also, Lightan can stomp and follow up with combos, if your gonna Baselard spam him, stay about just outside his arm range, and use it, hes to slow to hit you with anything there, and the stomp wont touch you. Use the B air version though. This applies to PTX as well, but he has his projectiles to atleast back him up, so you gotta know where his gattling wont hit you. His shotgun is garbage, and the rocket I think is to slow to actually hit you if you connect with the Baselard (plus Im pretty sure Baselard destroys the rocket)

PTX is about 7-3 (more likely 8-2, but PTX aint helpless, and can atleast counter what Blade can do if he plays really smart and good as trapping you in the corner, even with Falchion PTX can stop Blade from escaping pretty easily without you hitting Baselard to reset the situation)

Lightan…Lulz…10-0 Blade (its seriously horribly against Lightan, as long as you play smart against his stomp and stomp super)

Yes.

Use a Crash Intrude if you’re feeling hopeful.

Omnidirectional Super Voltekka has a bigger start-up time so may not be the smartest idea, but if you’re sure he won’t block it, it’s good to rack up damage.

PTX’s chainsaw also cuts through falchion. Most ptx users will only use VS tackle to approach if they have baroque to cancel the lag. Really good PTX players can use 5A to block falchions, since 5A has auto-guard against all high and mid hitting attacks.

tekkaman blade is the shit! i have a learned a 100% ko combo with 20% baroque. without baroque it still does about 80% damage. problem is i dont know how to upload videos on youtube. also blade & tekkaman team does some mighty damage!

Alot of questions to ask but I will play the game and read more to reduce em. Hopefully if you guys don’t mind I might be clogging up this thread with vids for some feedback. Thanks.

Go ahead bro, ask what you need.

Alright here’s a series of vids. I just got myself a Wii and the game + converters so I can work on execution especially the aerial rave into jc j2C land C Katzbalger combo which does alot more damage.

I know I use j2C alot in neutral situations which is risky. Tbh I was trying to figure out whether I still can do some kind of mixup to keep the opponent on their toes like j2C cancel into Baselard as a pseudo poke especially if they’re expecting Falchion. What I’m thinking is that I can j2C -> Call Assist-> cancel into B baselard (possibly Voltekker) to get a decent control over space… I have yet to put that into practice tbh.

Also are Blade’s 5/2B safe on block? I should work on my hitconfirms alot better tbh but that comes with practice.

I don’t use jA enough esp during mixup tbh.

There are alot of things that have to be ironed out but to be fair I only have 1-2 days work on the game lol.

I should seriously consider recording some of my online casuals, but people hate it when I choose Blade so I don’t know. I’d like to upload for the Ippatsuman thread also since I main Ippatsu.

I’ll have to see as I’ll only be able to record with the same quality as my tutorial and people may not want that. My birthday is coming up so I might be able to afford an HD capture card which I’ve been interested in purchasing for a long time now.

Could someone help me on the Morrigan matchup? I have no idea what to do against her fireballs.

You can always super jump, just know that most of her normals will beat yours and you can’t rush her on the ground. What you could do is do a C ~ falchion as soon as jumps in the air for an air fireball so you quickly go under and close the distance.
