So are there actually costumes/outfits you can unlock for free in game or are they going the typical route of you gotta buy them?
Game feels just like any other tales game to me. In otherwords, underwhelming.

I always thought of Tales games being RPG comfort food. Berseria isnāt going to blow me away but it will be a fun RPG I will enjoy sinking time into.
Demo didnt sell me. I actually didnt like the combat. Prob due to me preferring the 2D Plane-ish older Tales combat
I mean the combat isnāt bad, but I kinda enjoyed having having basic attacks with 3-5 variations, and then a bunch of Arte shortcuts, then having fun making my own combos on the fly by chaining stuff.
I also really donāt like the soul gauge. Main problem being that Arte costs are depicted with numbers in the Arte list, but I donāt know how that equates to the little gems. I would much rather just have a mana bar like before. Also the fact that you have to let it regenerate forces breaks in combat where youāre running around waiting to attack again.
Just bought the game. Got about 2 hours in.
Iām still not a fan of the battle system. While they do tell you that one soul gauge is 30TP is doesnāt really help me gauge my attacks or save TP for another combo (cause you donāt see how much each arte really costs you).
I kinda miss having standard attacks and linking them to artes, rather than having all artes and just mashing buttons for whatever works. Hopefully, it grows on me.
I do like that our main characters are mature-ish from what Iāve seen so far.
I donāt have the game but I even noticed in the demo that you can change buttons mid combo. So you could be two presses into one combo, then press a different one and get the third arte from that set. It really isnāt the same though. Also yeah the soul thing is completely arbitrary. Is there not an option to change it?
No, I think itās a core mechanic.
The enemies have these soul gauges too and they can steal yours by inflicting some statuses, apparently.
Iām sure someone else has pointed this out before but i didnāt realize that Berseria is a distant prequel to Zesteria. The Eizen thing should have typed me off right way. Iām sort of salty now because I like Eizen.
Finally finished the game. Much much better than Zestiria. Not only that, the lore building was well done.
Man ive been playing the Tales mobile game. pretty fun. also been playing Graces f. loving the hell outta the combat
Finished Graces Fā¦great game. Idk what it is about the game, I felt the OST was weak, and that the plot was straightforward(Tales arenāt deep but yeah). and I never felt tension in the plot. Usually these things would bore me in a game, but it didnāt hinder my experience at all. Debating on which Tales to get to next, I got Vesperia, and Hearts R
Yooooooo
Finally!!!
Here are the tidbits:
- āWe are planning Tales of series remasters and remakes based on [fan] requests.ā
- ā[Tomizawa] will be working on [ Tales of series] console games as the new producer, including the new title announced at Tales of Festival 2018.ā
- āWeāre putting our focus first into putting out a game on console, which we havenāt done in a while.ā
- ā Tales of Crestoria has no direct connection to [other Tales of titles]. It will have a completely new story that is a clear distinction from an āall-stars gameā (Editorās Note: Tales of the Rays , etc.) and serve as an entry point to the series.ā
- ā(In regards to Tomizawaās new development structure) Itās not something I can talk about. But it is something I have been involved in behind the scenes since the beginning.ā
- āDevelopment is being handled by Bandai Namco Studio, with reliable staff members who built up the series.ā
- Higuchi: āIām working on other titles.ā
The remaster we need is Destiny DC.
