Is TOH coming to the states?
The chances of any non-3D Tales game coming to the states are low. However, ToH is trademarked over in the US, so perhaps they’ll actually localise it this time.

A better question would be who ISN’T. On a side note: EVERY playable character EXCEPT Natalia makes it in from Abyss. EVEN ASCH. :wow:
Also, check out YouTube for hella lotsa mystics. Asch’s and Yuri’s seem better now than before. Some, like Estelle’s, look exactly the same. Check the Tube.
In a Vesperia-related note, I think Rita’s my favorite character. As an atheist and skeptic, I appreciate the fact that while Estelle’s all like “Isn’t this magical?” Rita’s answer is “No, it isn’t, and here’s the logical explanation.” And so far, there’s been none of this “But Rita was wrong and it WAS unexplainable” bullshit. So that’s one plus for what has otherwise been a very promising but disappointing game.
I would hope that they bring ToH over if only because it seems like they did this one right. But I get the feeling that a lot of publishers are shying away from bringing over larger projects such as RPGs.
Still, I would hope decent to good sales from Dawn of the New World and Vesperia would push them toward bringing it over.
As a man of God:angel: I can also say rita is my favorite character, for the same reason you mentioned. (Have you finished the game?) I like rita for the same reasons, but i feel that she and judith grew the most out of the group. Rita realizes that somethings she didn’t understand and that there were things beyond her understanding. But everything has logical methods or reasons.
All she was the most entertaining in battle and out.

True, Rita does acknowledge that she doesn’t KNOW everything, but she never submits to the conclusion that things will always be above human understanding. Which is why I’ve grown rather fond of her as a character.
I also very much enjoyed Karol’s shift from convincing coward to fledgling hero. It was slowly built upon throughout the game, and when he finally made the big turn it was super satisfying.
Dammit, there was some damn good narrative stuff in Vesperia. WHY did Namco have to ruin it? :sad:
I’m currently playing Vesperia and aside from the bosses super armor Overlimit and the AI not keeping formation/sucking it’s a great game.
I really like the cast but Raven is my least favorite. I didn’t really appreciate Rita until later in the game(for me around lvl.40). Vesperia is pretty awesome. My favorite one thus far. If I had to pick a second fav it’ll be Abyss. I really want to finish that game.
Yuri is my favorite character, then Rita, then Raven.

I like Rita’s no bullshit mentality as well as her brokenness, but I also like how people constantly fuck with her, especially Repede, watch some of the skits they’re fucking hilarious.
Raven is just too goddamn pimp.
The characters themselves were better than the story of the game, though the villains were hot garbage. The story was rushed uninteresting once it came to the end. What irritated me most was that they didn’t bother to do any kind of character backgrounds, just some very few exceptions. Sucks how awesome this game could’ve been.
I think alot of the stuff your looking for takes place during sidequest and missions.
actually i did most of the sidequests, including Herme’s Note, Casey, and other things, and that’s the shit that gets me irritated. this is shit that could make the game’s story more interesting, and they put them in little sidequests where most of them take no longer than a half hour, and then that’s pretty much it. meanwhile the main overall story is garbage, and i’m here wondering why they didnt bother to keep going back to the things that made game interesting.

Tales of Graces, Tales of VS and Tales of Vesperia PS3 are all announced. Tales of Graces is the Wii Tales of which footage was posted above. Tales of VS is, as you’d expect, a Tales fighting game, on the PSP and is intended to rival FF: Dissidia. It has a 4 player mode and 4 characters have been confirmed so far, assuming it’s legit of course. TOV PS3 claims to come with one new character, Patty Fleur, a pirate girl.
I would almost lay money on Sheena or Lloyd from Symphonia being in the Tales of VS game.
Dibs on Reid. I suspect the 2D Tales guys will hand out much asswooping, that the pansy 3D guys need. I hope they don’t go Squeenix route and put in shitty level up mechanics. Rather it should be limited stage, and every move shoud be unlocked from the get go

I’m about to start a new game ex on vesperia. My main goal is to do the ex dungeon and 200 man melee this time, but the game is so good I don’t mind playing through it again. I’m going to enjoy using the new “ex” features like 10x experience lol 
I loved Vesperia, it was my first “Tales” game and it was freakin’ awesome. I loved Judith, her fighting style was so much fun to play, however she is annoying if you don’t control her with all those knockdowns.
I actually just replayed the game myself. The only thing I have left is to get the 200 man invite and the melee itself, but that entails going through the bonus dungeon a minimum of 5 times, and I’m moving on for a bit now. Besides, I already did it a few times on my last playthrough. I got most of the sidequests, attachments and costume titles now, although I know I still missed some things it feels fairly complete.
Absolutely awesome game even the second time through. Also it’s pretty damn long, I know it can be done in about 10 hours but that seems pointless, it’s like cheating yourself out of the experience. I believe I have 130 or 140 hours between two playthroughs now. And chances are I’ll play it again sometime too.
I actually really liked the story and the characters. The second time through you know the character histories a bit more, so when Raven is talking to Duke early on you know they were both in the war and everything, and it changes the perspective just a little.
Second playthrough you might as well just use Yuri the entire time, one for the fell arms, and two because he deals so much damage and you’ll have Glory from the get go, and also of course because of all his tension skills. I think it’s kinda lame that only Yuri got the tension skills, it kind of makes it so that you pretty much have to use him. Pretty much all the chars should have gotten the tension and combo skills. The way the overlimits are set up you’ll barely ever use them, and the way the xbox dpad is half the time you’ll activate more than you wanted anyway. It would have been cool to be able to get some beastly combos with everyone else that you could mess around with, as well as glory for everyone, at least after beating it once (since you’d get glory all the way at the end anyway as well).
I got a 360 for Vesperia and SO4. SO4 was complete garbage, but Vesperia more than makes up for it. I doubt anything will top it this gen, just a great game to get. I’ve told friends to get it when they ask me, but Vesperia is still $40 or so, I tell them it’s worth $60 imo but I guess they’re cheap. I hope there’s another Tales game headed to 360 sometime, it’s probably the only series now I have complete faith in.
I was hoping that Tales of VS was going to be a 2D fighter and NOT for a portable system. Bah.

i’ve all but finished my second playthrough of P4, and since im with the consensus that Star Ocean 4 is pure concentrated ass, perhaps i should come back to this game. only this time i will try to get a full 4 player party on this motherfucker. shit will be epic.
so the PS3 version’s gettin a new character huh? i dunno sounds fishy, but i’ll keep my eyes open since i’ll be gettin a ps3 in the future.
I thought Star Ocean 4 was okay. But, it certainly was no SO-everything before it. =(
