Custom Akuma for Tournament Edition

(akuma madness)

that looks amazing, you supplying the artwork for others??

Managed to do the kinkos lami-lable method until I get around to the MM order for a better look.
(Also learned alot about cutting holes and edges, at the cost of some lost blood and rough edges. XD )

when you did the lamilabel process did your work have a little “noise” after it was laminated? like you can see some micro sized lamination bubbles

Mine had a little, but not too noticeable. Here’s another view of the Pokeball stick I posted a couple pages back. I also had a question on the vinyl dye you guys are using. Does it bleed? Like say I was to mask off an area, would it leave a straight line behind or does it bleed? I’m asking because I want to attempt to make a “Pokeballtop” Also would you guys happen to know how well the plastic the Sanwa balltops take to vinyl dye?

If you left it on until it dried, it would be a straight line.

So I have a question. I want to make one of these mods. I want to make mine of the Metallica album art of Ride the Lightning. Now the pictures I’ve found on the internet are about 1400x1400. And don’t look that sharp. What would be the best way to make it viable for a mod? Vector conversion?

Hi, does anyone have any Cammy artwork where she is wearing pink or purple? Or even white? I like Cammy, but not the colour green!

"when you did the lamilabel process did your work have a little “noise” after it was laminated? like you can see some micro sized lamination bubbles "

The guy who did it at my kinkos did a good job; I didn’t have any micro bubbles or whatever at all, though I do have that laminated “texture”. Not bad for like 5 bucks though.

You can prob either shrink it and use it as a part of the layout, or like you mentioned (and if you have the ability to) vector it, though that’ll prob make it lose that 80s feel to the picture unless you go really detailed on it.

So here’s a question. I I got my Chun-li art printed and laminated at a local print shop for $1.44 then spray glued it down with 3M Super 77, and it turned out fantastic.

I went to Staples and asked about their pricing and they can print print art for about the same price, but their lamination is more expensive. They do have adhesive backed lamination though! So for my future art needs I could have my work printed and laminated at the local shop for a stack of quarters, and glue it myself. Or I could try and have it printed at Staples for like $2 and have adhesive backing. The thing is, I know the local print shop can do a good job, and I still have a full can of Super 77 that I’ll have to use on something eventually. Staples print quality is an unknown but I do get the convenience of lami-label. Also Staples is slightly far away.

What’s people’s experience been printing at Staples?

Funny you should mention that, I just got back from staples today. I had my art printed and laminated then I used 3m super 90 high strengh adheasive to stick. I was Happy with the quality of the print and the lamination looked great no bubbles at all. I didn’t know atbout the “lami label” staples did. I asked them about that but they have bunch of kids working there so they were like “huh?”. One thing you have to watch there is the print size, either know your measument sizes before you go in, or do what I did, they didn’t have photo shop but they did have corel paint so the chick loaded it up in that and got the sizes from there then wrote em down and entered it into their print program.

ya, print sizes are pretty critical, that is why I made my sheet 11x17 so I knew they couldnt mes up the print size, and I also got to add in some extra art for decals. win/win

I think this is it

Alright… I’ve done like 5 different mockups for my TE stick. This is the final design im going with but the art isnt done.

I still need to color in Cammy properly on the up front image

I want to add some sort of design around the buttons, but something minimal so that it doesn’t detract from the art behind it.

And I want to add the “Tournament Edition FightStick” lettering underneath the turbo cutout area just like it is on the OEM design.

I ordered 6 white seimitsu buttons and 2 clear blue seimitsus (that i plan to put the art inside of) and a blue bubble top from Akihabara (order still not shipped >.<)

So here is what it would roughly look like on the stick.

Tell me what you guys think!

I don’t see why you don’t use all clear Seimitsus… That’s a great design though.
