The "Official" Street Fighter 4 PC Thread (read first post)

This game is just too nice. XD

Wow, you could get banned pretty soon if you continue posting like this.

Woohoo piracy talk.

So, do you need to connect even if you buy the retail copy of the game? Do you need to register it online or something?

And… online stored unlocks/achievements/whatever? That’s just stupid… >_>

“Horsedick” has received infractions for insulting other members.
Deathgun’s post has been deleted and he is on very thin ice.

So righteous and fair.
This world needs more copies of you.
:pray::pray::pray:

BTW, do I have to beat arcade mode with every single character (including sakura, dan etc.) and gouken as the last one to beat it, to unlock Seth? TY

You need to beat the game with everyone except Seth to unlock Seth.

Cammy: End the arcade mode with Crimson Viper
Dan: End the arcade mode with Sakura
Fei Long: End the arcade mode with Abel
Gen: End the arcade mode with Chun-Li
Rose: End the arcade mode with M.Bison
Sakura: End the arcade mode with Ryu

Akuma: After unlocking Sakura, Dan, Cammy, Fei Long, Gen and Rose, Fight him on arcade mode, to do that, Get at least 2 perfects and 2 Ultra Finishes.

Gouken: After unlocking Akuma, Sakura, Dan, Cammy, Fei Long, Gen and Rose, Fight him on arcade mode, to do that, Get at least 2 perfects and 3 Ultra Finishes.

Seth: End the game with all the other characters

Got the game yesterday.

So far it is shit.

Same shitty netcode, only now on top of that the game slows down if your opponent’s framerate drops.

I played over 100 online matches, all of them with 4-5 bar connections and every single game suffered from some kind of slowdown. EVERY. SINGLE. GAME.

Most of the time it wasn’t input lag, but felt like playing the game in slow motion .

Offline plays great, just like on console, so at least training mode will be viable.

None of the console’s issues were adressed, and on top of that they gave us new problems. So much for a “superior version”

Maybe… ur computer just sucks =/

If it really does slow down to compensate for the other player… that is lame.

Are you sure it’s the framerate? I remember discussing frame rate issues on this board and online play came up, and another poster insisted that Capcom wouldn’t let that happen.

i just got my copy today and im having the same problem. The benchmark ran fine, but the game randomly decides to go into slo-mo. I turned the graphics down to as low as they go and put fixed framerate on but it still does it, not all the time but very regularly, whether I’m online or offline. I get the feeling this is not graphics related though, as the slowdown is noticable on things like opening movies and the loading splash screen between stages.

edit: Dear mods/admins, you may want to consider two PC threads; one for general and one for tech issues.

Can someone tell me why in god’s name you have to set up the custom controls in game EVERY TIME you restart the game? I mean Capcom, are you serious? You can’t just save the freaking setup to an ini file? Wow.

ditto

Thank you. I was getting a migraine over the internets…

Maybe you’re a moron ?

As I said, it works great offline.

Benchmark gives me 59.9 FPS with V-Sync, 95 without.

I used both the game’s FPS display and FRAPS to monitor my framerate and it never drops below 56 even during the slowdowns.

I don’t know who said Capcom wouldn’t “allow it” to slow down the game to match the inferior machine, but here are the facts : green bar matches (and all the others too) randomly slow down like you’re watching a slow motion replay. It’s not latency spikes for sure, because latency issues would give you input lag and skips/teleports (I’ve had those on every 2-bar match I tried for sure), and I seriously doubt it’s my own fps dropping, as it still happens with every option at minimal quality in low-res.

Does SFIV have frame skip option?

You have to create a Windows LIVE profile.

Have anyone tried the benchmark with an Ion platform?

What about the results?

Check my post, you can see the delay on the loading/cutscene screens (they are hardly CPU intensive) and I have the graphics on rock bottom. It seems to occur mainly with fight request on. I’m using windows XP.

Things I’ve tried:
GFX driver re-install
Adding SF4 to ffdshow exclude list
Rebooting
Making sure absolutely nothing is running in the background
Kicking PC
