Negative bro. The M4/M16 system is still being used because the Army/Marine Corps are just not willing to change weapons right now. There are weapons that assrape the M4 in terms of reliability. The M4 uses an old firing system (i forgot the name, i’m not an expert) that if not constantly maintained, will cause the weapon to jam or not fire. As a matter of fact, while firing my M4 today, it malfunctioned because of the rain. The guy in the lane next to me had his M16 jam after every shot.

Newer rifles that have a piston system are far superior in terms of performance and reliability. They require less maintenance too.

With all that aside, the M4 is an excellent weapon in terms of accuracy. If you have all of your marksmanship fundamentals downpacked (steady position, breath control, sight picture, trigger squeeze) you can be lethal with that weapon from 300 meters.

The AK47 is superior in reliability, that’s a no-contest.

If you’re a fan of the M4/M16/AR15 type weapons then I suggest that you get a Sig 556. They’re similar in cosmetic design to the aforementioned weapons and offer superiority in terms of reliability.

do u guys actually build receivers or are you doing smithing/tooling?

we actually build our Combloc platforms from Elk River receivers (since nodak spud isn’t so great anymore). unless it’s a receiver that only nodak makes. We build our AR15s on our own lower recievers and Fail Zero Uppers. But we work on basically any gun. and even create our own tools to work on guns…
