I posted these in the flash animation thread and the dbz thread a ways back, but I’m sure some may still not have seen this little series. Something to watch while passing the time.
Sonic: Nazo Unleashed Pt. 1
Sonic: Nazo Unleashed Pt. 2
Sonic: Nazo Unleashed Pt. 3
Guy who did Nazo’s voice did a really good job imo…He doesn’t sound out of place and I love the epic ending Chakra X did
It’s been depicted as teleportation, time slow, time stop, and/or super fast movement. Also possibly the source of Shadow’s chaos energy spears and chaos blast.
On a completely unrelated note:
I know that they are saying Sonic Unleashed is going to be Sonic going solo again, like in Secret Rings. But c’mon, at least Tails and Knuckles please.
S3&K and Sonic Rush are probably my favorites right after 2 since they play out like no nonsense Sonic games. The Sonic Advance series is solid and worth at least checking out.
Apparently you can now add Time travel to that list of things that chaos control can do…But you need at least 2 emeralds so far to have enough power to do so. I know nobody wants to remember this game…and it technically doesn’t exist…here’s an example
Still haven’t played Sonic '06 due to ps3 and 360 both being out of my budget.
But yeah, I can’t stand Silver at all. He’s voice is whiny and irritating. The chicken waddle on his head looks stupid. And seriously, why do they continue to shovel new characters onto us? The cast is huge, bring back some of the classic characters who really deserve to be brought back, like Mighty for example.
As far as good Sonic games past StH2:
Sonic 3 & Knuckles - Like seriously, how did you miss the direct sequel?
Sonic Advance set - All three are good, each in different ways too. Advance 2 is probably the weakest though.
Sonic Rush and Rush Adventure - Very good titles, and looking to be the basis for the side-view sections of Unleashed.
And I liked Sonic Heroes a lot, though others will dispute me on that.
naw…no new news unfortunately…dunno if that’s a good or bad thing really…I saw a small little article in the new game informer about sonic unleashed but it didn’t really say anything that we don’t already know. That and them slightly making fun of the ‘hedgehog’ engine saying that it’s gonna give the Unreal 3 engine a run for it’s money.
SPEAKING of which…Sega just licensed for the Unreal Engine 3 recently…Dunno what they’re gonna use it for though…
I had always wondered what the full story was behind Sonic X-Treme was…and IGN just put this up today
Sonic X-Treme Revisited:
very very interesting read IMO…I didn’t know that competition between Sega of Japan and Sega of America was really ‘serious business’ back then. After reading this article I don’t know if I can be pissed a Yuji Naka for what he did…as it sounded like he was only thinking of himself…but at the same time he said he was trying to protect his stuff. What you guys think?
Edit: DAMN…didn’t know Sonic X-treme nearly killed some people. This game must have been some type of other beast.
Which one, the Genesis soundtrack or the Saturn soundtrack?
IIRC, I liked the Genesis soundtrack better. And it really warmed my heart to hear a lot of those songs again in Sonic Adventure.
Sonic in general has some pretty good music though. I mean, I actually thought that 3D Blast had fairly bland gameplay, but I can still enjoy it from time to time just because of the soundtrack.
Oh yes, Sonic, Megaman, and CastleVania have always had the most consistently-good music of any video game series IMO.
At first, the Sonic Rush soundtrack really threw me for a loop. It was so different from what I’d heard in the series up to that point. But after getting a little more used to it, that soundtrack and Rush Adventure’s are both pretty kickin’ too.
btw Lava Reef in Sonic and Knuckles was fruckin awesome
my fav in the whole game. I was so pleased in SSBB that they included Green Hill Zone
I demand to battle in that stage until they play it!
I must Sonic and Mega Man are the first gaming OST that I was actually able to bop my head to and write songs to.
