The Official Ranting Thread

IMO, just make it so some cross-ups do not look like 95% of their body is in front of you with their legs already at your shoulder and still hit you on the other side and somehow land there. If that makes sense…

Ohhhhh you mean the cross-ups that cross-up, that shouldn’t cross-up… Yes that makes sense

Street Fighter X-up Tekken

or the cross ups that you block as a cross up mid screen, and they still land front side.

EDIT- you can prolly block this type of shit either side

Dealing w/ cross-ups is a way of life when they work. However getting the proper block on the cross-up then getting smashed in the ding-ding with a cr.l because you expected the character to actually “cross you up” is something totally different.

Street Fighter X-up that didnt X-up that should have X-up Tekken

yes

Game fuckin sucks

I didn’t say I thought it should be removed. I just think it looks ugly and does sort of skew the meterless damage thing. Besides this isn’t SSFIV and Gen where you have one character. If a character is nothing but a way to get even more stupid damage off an alpha counter or a reversal tag cancel and then is tagged right back to Raven or Rufus or whoever is doing the heavy lifting are you even really playing that character?

Who cares about her neutral game if all she’s there for is allowing your much better character to combo into/alpha counter into more meterless damage than hugo (Whose backbreaker can’t be tag canceled) and switch back out. (Since 6 roundhouses builds at least a bar, and more with a meter gem)

Again though it’s fine to leave it in the game, I still hate it because it’s not hard to do, it makes already ugly combos uglier, and it makes a character who needs help look strong because people see them being used just to end combos rather than seeing where her game has weaknesses.

Just to make fireballs more effective, thus making the ground game more effective. X Fatal Grace X - no, jump arcs are not universal. Characters have different arcs as far as I’ve seen.

With that said, I conducted a test last night. Picked Akuma, had Jin jump in on me with roundhouse. Did MP SRK late, it traded every single time. Thankfully the EX version never trades, but its crazy to spend one bar just on an AA read. Meanwhile, people can scrub their way out of knockdowns with a free roll. Why does Capcom insist on catering to casual players? Those are the same players that a) haven’t even bought this game; and b) play it briefly and then return to Call of Duty. Its insulting that they wouldn’t cater to the actual crowd that plays their games the most.

IMO, they’re the biggest pieces of shit right after EA.

Fireballs would actually be more effective against higher jump arcs (One of the reasons why Bison is horrible against Guile). It seems your real complaints are godlike hitboxes on air normals, and relatively crappy anti-airs in general.

Akumas HP SRK actually has more invic than MP in this. HP has 6 frames, MP only has 4. I’m guessing HP will work a lot better as anti air.

I didn’t realise how bad leggy connections were in this until tonight. Abel kept hitting me with the ex version of his charge move no matter how quickly I tried to block it.
Next match has two autoblock gems. I feel like I’m getting close to giving this up. At least if it continues this way online.

FUCK CAMMY AND HER S.LP! SHIT IS RETARDED.

/rant

I had a Raven player lock me down for a good ten seconds online with that sort of play. Is there a way to break out of it without meter?

Hmm.

Couldn’t the same exact thing be said about Marvel 3…? Everyone was blowing loads over Marvel 3 until it landed ,then they whined, bitched, and complained until Ultimate landed and a lot of people STILL hated it… I know because I was one of the initial supporters of it and I got so much shit for that it wasn’t even funny.

If ppl can play a flawed POS like marvel 3 then why not play sfxt aswell? Ah right it’s not hype. I guess the solution would be to buff pandora so it resembles xfactor to please everyone with ADD (stream monsters).

Its not just stream monsters. Take the video that I posted, Neo was obviously referring to Fchamp and the likes. If top players are bored at playing it then its even worse watching it.

Pretty sure Justin Wong, Ricky Ortiz, and Mike Ross all still play and enjoy it… just to quickly name a few pros who are still behind the game. Justin just referenced that he still considers the game one of his mains in an article he posted about juggling multiple games… and my very first match in pools @ Texas Showdown was against Ricky Ortiz with Mike Ross standing right behind him – so obviously they care enough to play the game.

One or two guys saying they don’t like the isn’t enough to prove a game isn’t going to last – or else Marn’s claim that Marvel wasn’t going anywhere would have turned out true, which it obviously didn’t.

If Capcom included Fighting Game Jam in their 500k tournament support I’m sure Justin Wong [as well as other top players], would consider that game to be as one of their main games.

“Its all about that paypuh,” as Mike Ross would say.

One or two guys? Try adding a zero on there. FGTV houses Ricky Ortiz/PR Rog/ShadyK and regularly has top players as guests. That video I posted, if you watch carefully, NEO nods back pointing to the back room. Guess whos back there playing? Alex Valle.

Just because top players play the game/practice it/mains it does not mean they enjoy it. Dont forget some of these guys play these game as a living.

Do not forget that not everyone enjoys what they do for a living but if it pays well then they can justify it.

I can see your point. I just don’t feel there’s enough to really justify the implication that the game is dead or dying.

In other news, my qanba stick just shipped in. Haven’t opened it yet, but the shipping invoice lists it as having costed 40 bucks, (paid 200 total), lol. Shady as fuck. Gotta love the Chinese.
