Best idea I’ve heard. If you’re gonna troll put your money into it!
In truth neon colors were a truly bad idea. This game already looks ADD enough with all the crazy backgrounds and stupid gem effects going off all the time.
If there is one thing that I think the entirety of the internet can agree on its SFxT had some of the most incredibad decision making. They just stepped on their own feet at every turn.
Its still hella fun having a game you don’t have to take seriously though; sup EVO 2v2!.
Playing more and more of this it does seem quite boring… Try to defend the jump in’s, block jabs, counter, repeat, over and over… I feel after this game has gotten it’s legs under it and some tweaks are put into place it may be fun, til then I guess I am just grinding and trying to guess right like everyone else.
If there was half as many threads about new technology for the cast, or even just about match-ups, as there are threads moaning, groaning, and trolling the game, maybe we’d actually be going places with this game.
My main problem with this game is that on my level of play, it’s all autopilot. Everyone just tries to get this one jab that starts the fat combo. There are matches where you see four huge combos, but it’s always the same.
There is no analyzing your opponnent, no footsies. How can a game where ONE jab leads to an insane amount of damage be called footsie-based?
You are assuming I’m not trying to solve these problems. But dumb shit like invulnerable backdashes and a reversal taking half you health are not really that solvable in this game engine.
The whole game is set up so the two dumbest things you can do are attack or block. You have to play footsies. Which is fine, the footsies in this game are decent. But the almost total lack of advantage or disadvantage makes the game just… awful…
Whoa, whoa. I wasn’t even addressing you. I didn’t even see your post. I was talking more about things like every front page (or Eventhub) comment, and the great threads in the general area that seem to be more worried about stirring up drama than anything. I have no problem with this thread in the slightest, especially since I’ve used it. Several times. Because shit in this game can be frustrating as balls.
People can complain about the in-game shit all they want, but if I read one more, “CAPCOPS TROLLING WITH DLC FOR THE LULZ, OMG XDXD KAPPA” My eyeballs are going to jettison themselves from my head to save my brain.
Okay I just wanna know why everyone I pair up with refuses to do launchers. They would rather raw tag me so I can get blown up and ffs stop tag canceling me mid combo!!!
No, because if they block, your OS will come out as part of the chain combo. And then you will have just thrown unsafe move X on block. it might even have extra disadvantage being part of a boost combo.
You can bait the backdash. But the fact that you have to bait that, in addition do DP’s (which lead to more damage than you mixup and might be safe), rolls, and other stupid moves such as EWGF means that you just can’t really attack anyone. It’s a risk and that’s fine, but the risk reward is all kinds of fucked up.
Also, backdashes are on average faster than in SF4.
Fuck, even if you bait the backdash, the punish you get for that pails in comparison to what the opponent would get if they blocked the attempted punish, or backdash punished you meaty, or backdash punished you jump in (on block). It’s a stupid mechanic. It was dumb in SF4, it’s still dumb here.
A point I’m totally willing to concede too, but Marvel had the same amount of complaints, it just never suffered this almost complete halt in people actually learning things like it seems to in this game.
Probably not going to fix it since people are boycotting it for dumb reasons like ‘DLC on disc’
The rest of us who actually have fun playing this are most likely screwed over thanks to people upset about it. I frankly don’t give a flying fuck what Capcoms business agenda is. If putting them on the disc is more cost effective and leaves more money in their budget to support the post release, I’m all for it.
Truth is, if you’re passionate about a hobby, you don’t care how much it’s going to cost you because the amount of satisfaction you get out of it is priceless.
I really hope it doesn’t affect post-launch support. This game has potential …
