You can confirm the blocked rekka before doing the counter, as with most or all lockdown moves. But i wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re playing abel or have two bars. Maybe put a meter gain gem after you block x moves against rolentos is a good idea.

Launchers are not uniform in terms of how high they juggle. Lame.

My only gripes? The gems, Pandora, and time overs. Hate the gems so much that I went as far as to not equip any on any character I use. And I’m still winning most of my matches. The only matches I lose are just people who solely rely on their gems. Pandora is just WAY too big of a gamble, and I have yet to either use it or see someone else use it. It just seems like a pointless mechanic. And the time overs… I usually think 99 seconds is standard for fighting games, but there are a lot people who just wear the time down in SFxT. Either A) lose the match because your health’s too low to make a comeback or B) use infinite time so people can get a satisfactory win.

That’s it. Don’t know if I made any sense, but that’s what I got.

I think that it is viewed as free to alpha counters because there is no reason to fall for any baiting. You have time to react to blocking Patriot circle and input alpha counter. Also looks like a high percentage to get a CH on the alpha counter for additional damage, making it more worth it.

But I am just a fraaaaaaaaaaaaaay 09 er ha ha.

I think this is what Entrerix is kinda talking about. Even in SF4 SPD couldn’t have punished Patriot Circle. No command grab outside of Super is punishing Patriot Circle in this game.

Well you can still FAB it. Also Ibuki can Yoroitoshi it. theres probably more.

or you can just hit confirm into patriot circles. if it doesn’t hit, no patriot circles seeing how patriot circles combos off everything.

Here’s what I don’t get. Capcom said this was more of a footsie-oriented game, no? So why did the **IDIOTS **decide to make jumping attacks so damn powerful? You should be rewarded for forcing your opponent to jump, that’s the whole point of fucking footsies. Fucking hell with this bullshit, why can’t those stupid Capcom fucks take Super Turbo and base everything around that engine? The game has been played since 1994 for a fucking reason.

They’re probably busy making up more bullshit about some DLC that apparently isn’t on the disc but then actually is. Fuck Ono, he can take his “extended play” business model and shove it up his ass. Every time I play modern Street Fighter I have to abandon all my fundamentals and play like a moron to win. The rolls also need to be nerfed, the window to punish is way too small.

But, of course, we won’t get anything that makes sense - Capcom proved that with most of their SF4 updates. Instead we’ll hear some stupid stories about how someone was too lazy to patch a co-op feature into the 360 version of the game when it was initially promised. Oh, we’ll also get some stupid cats as secret characters. No, wait - they’ll be DLC for $25.99.

At least we can believe Ono when he says that SFxT won’t release any disc-based updates. Why should it? All the fucking content is already there.

NOTE: I’m having fun with this game. But I don’t think its tournament-worthy at all. KOF13 and BlazBlue are the new standard.

My only beefs at the moment is that without meter, you can’t really punish Patriot Circle, which I think is annoying to deal with, and another thing which might be just me, but nearly everything Rufus does is safe, I wish I knew how to fight him.

Julia’s IMR can punish it at 1 frame & I think Akuma can punish it too with Raging Demon as it’s a 0 frame grab.

I also miss regular throws from SFIV, Reduced by 4 frames and possibly less range than it was. They made it too weak in this game. It’s a shame because I like to throw on ocassions too.

i had julia try to reversal IMR me after a blocked patriot circle but i was able to block afterward. wierd, i should be eating the super.

i’m not sure is FAB or raging demon 0 frames in this game.

chuns and i think kens super punished rufus galactic tornado on block in sf4 which was -1, same as rolento patriot circle. if they didnt tweak the startup, chun and ken should be able to punish the patriot circle on block.

We are talking apples and oranges. What I am saying is that Patriot Circle itself is considered free to alpha counters because when you notice that you are blocking it is very easy to confirm and do an alpha counter. Confirming block for other moves is much harder.

Yeah you can do whatever to try and whatever. But when you have a bar stocked and a Rolento pokes into the first rekka of patriot circle (and you confirm that you are blocking) it s very easy to alpha counter.

Ok, so I decided to mess around with both Julia & Akuma in the lab, I know Akuma can definitely punish Rolento’s PC with RD when he’s right in the face, but from sweep distance he can’t do it. I honestly thought Julia could punish it, I was looking at the frame data spreadsheet and thought to myself “Yea she can punish this shit.” But then again I don’t main Julia, so i’m a little confused.

Also to be fair GT is at worse i think -2 in this game, only certain moves can punish it, and they all require meter.

Frame data is listed wrong, her super is 2f. You can test it with chun’s lightning legs HK Lightning Legs is -2, LK Lightning Legs is -1. Julia can punish HK version and cannot punish LK version.

Friend of mine just emailed and said on Wakeup SRK they mentioned that the guide is incorrect and didn’t list the 1f freeze; so all supers are actually 1+(listed frames).

sigh I’ve been wondering why the frame data is so goddamn confusing, It’s even said that some low kicks hit high which I know for sure is f’d up.

Maybe I need to spend more time in the lab.

Rufus you can alpha counter his stuff just like Rolentos.

I also miss the old throws, these new ones are so wonky. I wish there was kara throws with these current throws, thatd make it more fair imo.

chun has a 9 frame super in this game.

Ken’s got his awesome 2 frame super here which punishes tons of stuff. Unfortunantly it cant punish galactic tornado mp and patriot circle because they are -1.

FAB and Demon are indeed 0 frames.

Although personally its easier and sometimes smarter to just alpha counter patriot circle then tag cancel into your partner and it works for almost everyone.

Why on earth is it so hard to get people to join an Endless Lobby? I sit there with slots open for days and no one joins. C’mon!

That Online is a freaking trip. The time makes it worse and the recovery is not giving you a edge on the battle which makes it more silly.

Wait, so FAB and Akuma are 1 framers, not zero…and Shippu is 3 frame start up, not 2??
