Tekken 6 is SLOOWWWWW, it was a graphical upgrade from 5: DR but a step back in terms of responsiveness and feel
What do you guys think of the damage? It kind of bothers me once everyone gets down their tag combos they’ll do 50%, crossup or mixup, repeat win. or miss and have the same happen to the opponent?
I think this game is ass. Pure, 100% concentrated ass. A massive failure at a fundamental level, a blatant cash grab for all kinds of DLC. This game has never been intended for high level play and I seriously doubt it will withstand the community’s scrutiny for long even if we ban gems in tournaments.
- so rough around the edges. The gem effects look terrible. The hugely exaggerated guard and hit stun freezes destroy the flow of the match. The stages are pretty nice, but somehow the characters that looked incredible in SF4 look terrible in this game. I hate how you can start moving while the “FIGHT” graphic is still opaque and occupying the whole center of the screen. Still has the worst input config setup possible. The color edit mode is a bad joke, and I doubt more colors are going to be free.
- chains into launcher in a game with Street Fighter style footsies… what a horrible idea. That any random asshat can stick out a poke, chain it into launcher, and convert it into a 300+ damage combo for no meter is insanely stupid and Capcom should have recognized this less than five minutes after they came up with the idea
- nerfing throws to shit. WTF were they thinking making normal throws 7 frame startup with no range? combined with the newer, faster jumps… you will eat full jump in combos for trying to open somebody up with a throw that is difficult to land and does no damage. That command grabs got nerfed too - SPD 5 frames!? - just makes it worse
- horrible balance, already. you want to play this game seriously you better get used to playing the same few characters as everybody else.
- health regeneration is out of control
- damage is so out of whack. Using the exact same system as SF4 does not hack it for this game.
- the new jumps are like Capcom’s bad impression of KoF jumps. best way to anti-air is to air-to-air, fishing for that counterhit combo. Except when will he push the button!? the mind games!!
That a game with so many ways to get EASY damage even this early on ends with so many time outs is mindboggling.
I think this is the scrubbiest and worst game the community has ever tried to play. that this shitheap already has a spot at Evo as a feature game makes me profoundly sad. This feels like a SF4AE mod as handled by a 12 year old MUGEN “game designer” and makes vanilla Marvel 3 look like a triumph.
The second version of this game MIGHT be something, but it is so clearly not ready for the big time I wonder why anyone is playing it
tl;dr - I **HATE **this game
I must’ve been bounced off the ground at least 4 times by that old guy with moose antler hairs and lost 40% of my health because he got in 1 hit confirm. And he wasn’t even using a meter bar!
I really feel like the SF characters are outclassed in this game. Tekken characters seem to be doing a ton of damage especially that Marduk guy with his hand claps and combo-able double air slams! Overpowered IMO!
Have you even played tekken?
Welcome to the king of iron fist tournament.

What you did there, I see it.
This is the greatest description of him ever. Bar none.
What’s a Tekkens? They’ve always been able to juggle, it’s a part of the Tekken franchise. Peep this
I appawd you for this pun.
LOL
Tekken characters are now known as “Tekkens”.

Play as Rufus and suddenly all you problems go away
And Rolento
That is not fair. SF characters need to be allowed to hit you while you’re down too then. If you can drain half my life in a single combo, I should be able to do the same too!
This guy must be hood. You don’t say Tekkens unless you hood.
I believe any street fighter character is very capable of holding there own. Although most of the tekken cast has massive offensive potential. Many of them lack in the defensive department. Once you get your combos and match ups down you will be fine. Might i make a suggestion that you start using the auto-block gem? It could save you in a unfamiliar match up, such as Kazuya or moosehead. Both score massive damage from their overheads and a little meter to save you goes a long way. And if you block it properly it will take no meter! Good luck!
considering most of the sf characters have better zoning,anti-airing, and pokes id say no. i think tekkens(lol) seem to have better mixups/frametraps/extended combo sequences
The Street Fighter characters operate under the exact same juggle engine the Tekken characters do. As an example, Rufus does far more damage in the corner than Heihachi does, this is especially true in Tag Cancel combos where you can bust out his f.HP > f.HP > f.HP xx HK.Messiah Kick. I’m pretty sure certain SF characters also have moves that cause ground bounce. That kind of juggle property is specific to moves, not characters. Juri’s j.HP causes ground bounce.
Also, your argument is moot to begin with. The combo you listed actually does less damage with the ground bounce due to how damage scaling works. Also, also, Heihachi has such a piss-poor footsie game to balance out his huge mid-screen damage. If you’re half-decent, Heihachi really has to work to even touch you.
You’re ranting about a problem that doesn’t exist.
Oh… Oh wait… I see. This was a big troll.
Ha ha. Oh you.
