The Official Ranting Thread

I’m just gonna go and say that most dlc costumes are shit and rehash from characters in the game and look damn ugly, how many girls dress like chun li or guys like bison can you havE?

Also… marduk as Hugo? really? It makes it so obvious that they copy and paste shit since they lack originality it bothers me.

The only one awesome is King as Alex but guess what… NO FUCKING ALEX.

All my friends “like it” but I just can’t play this crap. It’s official, I’m not buying it, it really does suck because of the gameplay issues most of you have mentioned already.

I’m still sad about this

what happened with the days when you went to the store and buy your self a 100% FULL GAME this makes me sick what they are doing nowadays. I don’t need to get the dlc for many? various characters. The problem lies when you play and you don’t have these dls characters which could be large…people WILL KICK YOU OUT OF THE LOBBY as i have experienced in ssf4 without ae, forcing me to pay for something i don’t want. I have no need for oni, evil ryu etc. Why doesn’t CRAPCUM allow you to have these characters BUT you can’t play them but still can fight them online…their excuse we had to develop, costs money…bs look at the former sf series.

CRAPCUM is making money the game sf x tk costs us around 55 euro with the added dlc content lol it will reach around 100 euro or even more (sf4, ssf4, ssf4 ae more then 130 euro in just a short time) Games like street fighter alpha 3 or third strike were complete albeit you had to work to unlock the secrets just as namco did with tekken on ps3. Alpha 3 and third strike were games still played after years and years after their initial release.

And now they want to screw with power ups…if both of you have the same skill level and both of you have around 1 cm life left, you have no power up while your opp does who has the best chance to win, it takes him to hit you 2 times to finish you off while you need 4 hits…

Music sucks hard in this game they should follow the example from alpha3, third strike, guilty gear, tekken, hokuto no ken, these had some very good stage music packed with adreline and exitement. Now i hear these little girly manga music type of garbage.

I can’t beat the CPU Ogre on medium difficulty. I want a refund.

Street Fighter X Tekken: Time over edition

Ok, wtf. Why is it so easy to go into pandora when you try to go into cross rush. I mean, kinda a design flaw…

Steve, is just, man they really messed him up it feels.

He seems well balanced and good in practice mode but in the field he plays like absolute shit.

He can go through a lot of attacks but he feels incredibly lacking.

I wouldn’t call it bitching if it’s a good reason sir.
I can understand DLC gems and exclusives but not DLC characters, that would be fucking stupid.

Yeah because SFII didn’t have 4 versions, alpha didnt have 4 (if you count alpha 3 max), EX didn’t have 3, and SFIII didn’t have 3 versions.

You say alpha 3 was complete. Ok lets say it was. You still paid 3 seperate times for 3 seperate games.
Also, I’m sick of hearing the “ITZ MY DISC I WANT THE CONTENTZ!” rant. The ONLY reason the characters / content are even ON the disc is because the developers got approved funding for them as DLC during development. Do you understand yet? Let me spell it out.

  1. Development team gets original funding amount for SFxT
  2. Development team creates as much content with that original funding amount as possible. Paying for employee work costs, hours developing, etc.
  3. Some time into development, execs approve DLC, or rather, more content. More funding provided.
  4. With the new funding, Capcom can pay the developing team to create more content.
  5. More content requires more work. More work requires more employee pay, hence, why you get charged for it later on.
  6. There is still time to put unfinished DLC on the game disc itself, in order to make it easier on console owners (saving HD space and all).
  7. Game releases. Development team still tweaking DLC characters / content.
  8. DLC released. You CHOOSE to pay for content that wouldnt’ve existed if it wasn’t for a later-approved budget (or in capcom’s eyes, cost) increase.

If anything. all the hackers cracking the game are actually stealing from capcom, which may prevent them from doing DLC in general and putting it all on more discs. Such a shame.

DLC is a Godsend for fighting games. Imagine if it was 1997 and AE released. There would have been no 2012 edition because it was just a balance update. OR, if they had released a “1998” edition, it would’ve been a bigger project, and costed the interested consumer more money, whereas since it was easily distributed through the internet, it was free.

That’s not true, characters are fully functional.

DLC a godsend? ha, free updates maybe, but the amount of crap that’s coming as DLC is starting to fuck people over. One thing is costumes, another thing is a character. Another thing is 10 freaking chars (or 6, I don’t keep count of the times Capcom makes us bend over nowadays)

You must’ve missed the part where I said the only reason the characters are there to begin with is because they got extra (DLC) funding. In case you didn’t know, the whole point of the “extra funding” is to make money from it.

Answer me a simple question. In relation to a fighting game, how is DLC a bad thing? How is DLC, compared to constant “physical copy” updates, any worse? / Any more expensive? / Any more forcing you to buy it?

Also, please don’t try to make the argument that DLC forces you to buy characters to stay competitive in the game. That’s not a “DLC” thing, its a “Capcom keeps making more characters” thing. Its happened in every SF game to date. DLC and disc alike.

Two wrongs don’t make a right, son. The Street Fighter series is viewed by outsiders as a cheap money-making scheme, and in many ways it is. Add to that DLC that’s already on the disc you’ve bought, and “gems” that make you more powerful if you pay money, and it’s an ugly picture.

DLC on-disc is not very different from how Capcom has milked their fanbase in the past, it’s just another step in the wrong direction. Following your logic, you could have fifty President Obamas leading your country and it’d be no different from how it was before.

It’s a bad thing when they decide to chop the game from core components and sell them bit by bit to milk money, or when they lie to their consumers (“There are no functional dlc characters on disk”)

Or when they design the dlc in a way that hurts the competitive scene when having in mind tournaments or helping people get into the genre (gems, characters, the autocombo crap, etc)

They are both shit. Polish the game, release all you have, if you want to ellaborate on PAYED dlc, do it with pretty costumes or some other shit, not things that affect the gameplay or the experience of the costumer (characters, gems)

Everyone who payed for the game should be able to play the same game having in mind the gameplay and mechanics of it, all the rest is just flashy stuff.

yeah, if you play scramble mode.

I wish you could disable Cross Assault and Pandora; I’m desperately trying to tag while moving away, guess what comes out. Yes, I know, don’t mash, but they’re Cross Assault at least is completely worthless in a 1v1

Is there some input that I don’t know about that activates that auto combo crap? I swear it just randomly starts coming out sometimes and gets me killed.

The major thing you’re forgetting is that since the DLC was not included in the “Vanilla” SFxT budget, they were not entitled to put the content on the disk at all. However they chose to do so to help out with functionality and hard drive space. They didn’t “chop the game up”, they simply added more to an already finished product. SFxT as it is now is not incomplete.

You bought what was advertised. You’re only entitled to what was advertised (minus x360 local online pair-play). You don’t think SFxT as-is is worth the $60? Don’t buy it. You don’t like the fact that developers give the players what they want by making new characters? Don’t buy them. No one is shoving it down your throat. I, however, have been waiting for SFxT since my early teens. Had SFII on super nintendo when I was 7. Got Tekken 3 when I was 13. Been dreaming of a Crossover ever since. Just be glad they even made it.

If you’re playing on 360, it could be the joysticks getting pushed in. You can go into button config and put L3 and R3 on no input.

Coming from Tekken, this game is ass, “Tekken-like” juggles/combos is bs, it’s more like Marvel. This game is a f*ck up of both universes to be honest.
Online menu is trash, no lag but audio bug is annoying, I can’t enjoy any of my matches.

They need to fix online bugs and change the menu’s back to SSF4 style.

Thanks a lot, I’ll have to go change that. Seriously about half of my losses so far were because of this. Well, I only just got the game today, but still.

Yeah it happened to me all the time the first day. So glad you’re able to turn it off. Well, mostly.

NO…First off all alpha 1, 2, 3, and streetfighter 3 (1 to 3) where all complete atleast i knew i was buying my self a FULL GAME it had secrets in order to unlock it you had to “work” for it this added more fun to it.

Next i have one main and 4 to 5 secondary characters i play with, i have no need to buy new characters which should be in the initial game release but hey their in the game albeit you need CASH to unlock them screw that. Second i don’t mind more characters but the fact for me remain for example ssf4 without ae i thought i have no need for oni, evil ryu, yun, jang so i’m not buying it, sure it’s your choice your right about that. BUT when people kick me out of the lobby then its a whole other matter just because they whine about he has no ae i want to play oni or evil ryu. That’s my main problem here i want to play against these pricey dlc characters without me having the ability to play them, here you go problem solved this to me seems fair enough!. Guess what crapcum didn’t do that they knew before hand that people would kick those without ae from lobbies. So their solution? forcing you to pay for rubbish i don’t want! Just let me play vs dlc characters without me picking them.

Alternate costumes should be offered for the character you want 1 to 2 dollar or chose a custom group of costumes of characters you want. Not buying a pack of costumes example shadoloo package i did that only for boxer (and for zangief) i didn’t need the rest. They can do this “custom” no doubt but refuse it.

There should always be a option whether to buy new dls content without those who do not want it to suffer from it as seen in the above “solutions”.
They should learn from namco tekken on ps3 everything was already in the game all you need is work for it but i think they tasted the milking to perhaps in their future fighting games…we will see…
